That was so satisfying to watch. It's been almost a month since I have been on my wheel too. I'm deep cleaning my studio today in the hope I will be back creating next week. I can't imagine my first pot back on the wheel will be as perfect as yours 😅

Hi Jane! Deep Cleaning feels good, heh?! I am trying to organize and clean as I create. I was starting to twitch! I find that things just get so out of hand in November and December. My house is a mess, my studio is a mess, my books are a mess! UGH! If I stopped creating to clean it all at once, I would really start to twitch. I am resolved that by the end of January, it will all be clean and my head can be clear. Take care friend!

You make that technique look so easy Audrey. I'm going to give throwing on the wheel a go this year at our local pottery group.

That is awesome! I hope you enjoy the wheel. It's a bit tricky at first. It just takes practice. Thanks for watching!

Happy New Year! You are my inspiration. How humble to admit you how you feel after not throwing for a while. I am still struggling to teach myself to throw. You encourage me to hangi in there. If I don't get it pretty soon. I will just be happy pouring and handbuilding. That I am good at. Hugs from potter to potter, Chris/ Love Nana

That is so sweet of you to say, Chris! You know, I took some lessons in the beginning but after that, it was all RUclips. At the risk of sounding like I know what I am talking about, 😂, just keep practicing. The muscle memory will kick in but it really can take quite a long time! Some days though, things just don't work out and I have to walk away from the wheel and handbuild. Thankfully, I love both! Take care and thanks for watching!

Thoroughly enjoyed watching your throwing video Audrey! I have just started throwing and did my first mug yesterday. Well until now it has been mostly bowls. I have been potting 2 years and was handbuilding as I tried throwing but it never worked. Now I am retired so I have more time. I have been binging on YT videos and I have discovered the 2 thumb opening works better for me. Still working on getting my walls up higer but I have been practing every day and can feel my confidence growing. Looking forward to see how you clean the bottom and make and add the handle. Would love to see how you complete one mug. Thank you so much Audrey. Hugs from Denmark ❤️

Thank you so much, Gina, for your kind comment. Hey, congrats on throwing your first mug. THAT'S AWESOME! I kept my very first mug. It could be a DOORSTOP it's so heavy. But, I don't care! I won't throw it away! You, just keep throwing and watching vids. I learned my little habits and helpers by just watching RUclips. That muscle memory will kick in and it will get easier! Thanks again!
