@@duaneandmarymartin5375 it is difficult but I use a combination of blowing the glaze out when wet and using a skewer to clear out the holes. But sometimes they fill in anyway!

@@LarkynRose thank you! My wheel is a Shimpo- I don’t remember what model (it’s over 20 yrs old!) but I think any Shimpo is supposed to be a great wheel and very durable.
As someone who also gets cracked dry hands, may I recommend the only combination in existence that helps me.... coconut oil first then directly after, use Goldbond Diabetic's Dry Skin Relief. That combo works better than any product I've ever used in my whole life.
