    Abs workouts build your abs muscles, good diet and cardio burns all body fat. As simple as that. I dont understand how people are not getting that

    Also not really mentioned often is when you're losing weight the 'easier' areas that will most likely lose fat more readily are your arms/face. Those are the first to go. Belly fat is more difficult

      It’s different for everyone.Me for example,I gain weight exactly on my face and arms,so I’m sure it will be the last area to lose weight for me.

      just different builds. In my case I tend to lose more fat in the upper part of the body (my face gets like this ☠️) but my belly stays fat, ridiculous 🤷🏽‍♀️ Let's no speak about my legs please 😅

      @@luciamartin8725 if u gain more fat on your stomach,I suggest you check your cortisol levels.Theres this term “cortisol belly”.Corrtisol is a stress hormone and a lot of times people with excessive cortisol tend to store a lot of fat in their stomach,although the rest of their body isn’t,let’s say,”fat”.

    But ab exercises can strengthen the muscles which makes the belly appear slimmer. (but of course eat a healthy and balanced diet)

    Exxxxxactly. Calorie deficit is the ONLY way. Now, we should definitely train our core (even though it can REALLY suck) because it's such an important group of muscles... but you can't spot reduce... also, belly fat isn't the end of the world! You don't HAVE to have a flat stomach to be healthy. Media taught us that. 🤷🏾‍♀️ If you want one, go for it! Just know that flat stomach does not equal fit or healthy.

      @@gordonblues843cutting carbs doesn’t really matter, getting protein is what helps build muscles, and lowering calories helps loose fat. Carbs just happen to be calorie dense foods, so cutting carbs is really cutting calories

      @@gordonblues843 100%. I lost 20+ lbs on Keto (at age 66) eating WAY more calories than I did on the Standard American (garbage) Diet. The key was significantly reducing carbs, increasing protein, Intermittent Fasting. 🤗

    For everyone saying you can’t spot target fat loss is sorta true but muscle burns fat so if you do a lot of leg exercises and build muscle that muscle then helps to loose fat and you will have less fat and more muscle so you technically can

    As someone who’s parents where bodybuilders this isn’t entirely true. As cardio burns most of the fat ab workout like crunches and Russian twist ect can infact burn fat. It just can’t burn a targeted weight in not in a certain area.

    Ab workouts like any other targeted workouts gives you strength and definition. It only helps with weight loss in the long run. It's cardio workouts and proper diet that can help lose weight overall

    Reading the science behind that in Covert Bailey's classic book Fit or Fat helped me to understand that...plus personal experience....nothing wrong with all ab workouts though, keeping your core strong is so important.

    also, coming from experience, if you have excess belly fat, it's not a bad thing to incorporate an ab workout into your workout routine bc it can help with bloating, but it may also make your abdomen appear larger bc your abs will be growing while fat is falling off other areas of your body

    Sadly, we can't spot reduce fat. However, that doesn't mean that muscle training isn't important. Cardio is important for weight and fat loss, of course, but muscle training can help you quite a bit as well. Stronger muscles use up more energy thus burn up more calories. So, by strengthening your muscles you indirectly help yourself lose more fat during cardio and other exercise forms.

    Being in a deficit for long enough loses belly fat. Simple as. Your genetics determine where you store fat and where it's pulled from first. Most people's genetics have them store fat around their mid section and then outwards from there. So your belly is the first place to gain fat and the last place to lose fat.

    Ab exercises strengthen your abs but they don’t remove fat, you need to do cardio to burn fat

      You don’t have to do cardio to burn fat. You can but all exercise including cardio burns calories. They don’t even burn fat, necessarily. They will contribute to fat loss if you’re in a calorie deficit.

    Low carb diet plus excercise is the only way. I followed the Zoe recommendations at 66 and finally lost my belly and a load of weight

      It has to be through calories deficit and probably go for a cardio. But it will also depend on your body type and how fast your metabolism is. So make this research to check what will fit you

      Definitely a mix of strength training and cardio. Strength training is way more important for weight loss than a lot of people think because your muscles are responsible for burning fat when you are resting.

    The way fat leaves your body is to have the carbon in the fat turned into CO2 in your breath. So if you want to lose belly fat, find exercises that you can maintain for a long time that increase your breathing. Fast walking, slow running, etc.

    As a mom of 5 an ex ballerina and competition dancer you are peaking my interest.👀🫶🏼 I started classes before I was 3.
    Ive had a craving in my soul to dance again (besides randomly around my house lol, just for my own enjoyment, mental health, and as a workout)
    But pointe and ballet were my favorite, even the Barre work so many hated 😂. I did break my femur during barre warm ups at 14 but we won't go into that lol - I also have EDS 🫣😂

      They can help strengthen your core, especially if you use weights while performing them!

      You don't need to do any ab exercise to see abs, just lower body fat. However, be careful because women need to be at extreme low body fat percentages to have visible abs just because they need a certain amount of body fat to function normally.
