What a cool movie - and I'm completely in love with Katherine Hepburn! Just finished it tonight, as I continue my journey of EVERY Oscar nominated movie throughout history. So free-spirited - I'm in love 80 years too late! Apparently, she was box-office poison at the time (but came good in the 40s) ... because she was clearly WAAAYY ahead of her time. Katherine was wearing trousers during interviews ... something ladies didn't do in 1938. She was a free spirit, and freely admitted that most of her roles were just slight adaptations of her own personality. "Holiday" being a prime example. She was an extremely intelligent lady - getting a degree in Philosophy. She was home-schooled because she didn't fit in at normal school. Every one of Katherine's scenes in "Holiday" ... you can't take your eyes off her. I completely melted. What an absolutely brilliant actress! And - from what I've read - person as well. And no ... she wasn't a lesbian (wouldn't bother me if she was) ... she had a 'secret' relationship with Spencer Tracy for over 26 years, until he died. She loved him completely - alcoholism and everything else. They were completely together, like a married couple. That says everything. She was a force of nature ... girl power, way before it was fashionable.
My grandmother used to say things were “grand.” Such a grand old word. Katharine Hepburn says the dance was grand.
I love the scene in Holiday where Hepburn dives off Grant's shoulders and does a barrel roll. She was fearless!
Me too! 😊

I love her dress!
Thanks - this is my favorite scene in one of my all time favorite films. Soooo romantic.
Loveliest film ever. And I'm not exaggerating.
It certainly deserves to be much better known
my favorite movie ever since I was 12
The chemistry these two radiated, they should've gotten together in real life!
One of my favourite plays and one of my favourite films! Thanks for uploading and sharing one of the coolest scenes! :)
