It's Amazing That He Mentioned Us Small K-Series Guys, Its So Cool That Mechaman Its Not All Centered On Big V8's, I Just Ordered My 240 And Can't Wait To Install It
I can't count how many K-swaps in Miata's i've done. A few K-swaps in MR-2's and a bunch of K's that used to have B's. ;)
Hit the nail on the head. Quality over quantity for what I paid for my rockford amp and 2 12s I could of had 2 amps and 4 or 6 subs 🤔 but my 2500amp that does over 3200 and my 2 12in subs that weigh 50lbs will out pound systems with more power or more subs. Thanks for the direct info.
I have a 2003 Dodge Dakota with a 240 amp Mechman alternater. It's been 3 years since and still working perfectly. If you want the best Mechman will beat the rest.
Awesome, thanks for the support and recognition!
My 240 has served me well in my 06 Malibu Maxx SS ... I just need some lithium. It has been in service since 2013, Going on 10 years with no problems.
Oh...so you're jus gonna install parts correctly and brag???? SHOW OFF!!!!! (((((thank you!!!!)))))
I've been looking at your product line to purchase a high amp alternator. to run a 2000W DC/AC inverter on a 3rd gen Civic 1.8L at idle. This is interesting information.
Keep the videos coming
Thank you for the facts! 👍🤠🔥
Cool, I was looking at the 240 or 320 for my 2020 ram 1500. That idle amperage is what I'm looking for for sure. Think I may jus go with the 240👊
My ram 1500 new body already comes with a 220 you might want to double check yours
@Bdb Bdb what yr is your 5th gen, I will check again but pretty sure when I punched in my number thats on my stock alt it said 180A.
@@johnnypiper1717 2019 so less then 1 year from yours
@Bdb Bdb cool, yea ima definitely check it out when I get a chance, cuse I was gonna get a 320A for it
170 or 240 amp for 17 lexus is350 running 2400 watt amp , this is a daily driver with 1 agm battery .
Definitely the 240 with that AGM battery. Good easy and reliable combo right there!
I am about to buy one of your alternators and was wondering what size I would need , I run HID headlights , 52' light bar , 4 light pods , and also have 2x 12s only 300 watts , and a winch what size would u recommend me running please help I have a 98 Toyota 4runner 3.4L , sounds like I would need something with high output at idle , 🤣🤣 I really don't want or like to having to rev it especially with 352,000 all original but I need something cause at idle lights go dim , my SMD-1 says volts go all the way down to 10.4 , and i do have 2 batteries
Honestly, the lights don't really have much effect on amperage draw (LEDs are very efficient). While I don't know the vehicle you'll be doing this on, I would stay in the 240-250 amp range. Remember, more info is needed for me to give you a GO/NO GO answer. Check out some applications for your vehicle on www.mechman.com and we can chat about them!
Hey Tony. I bought one of your alternators last night. When searching your site for a 2001 Buick Century with 3.1L v6 it led me to a S-Series 320 Amp Alternator For 1999 - 2005 GM 3.1L Front Wheel Drive V6. Will this work for me? Thanks.
Definitely great advice I will email you on special tweek on diode plug wanna add 1 but I’m running AGM’s will it hurt them or not.
Anything over 15v is bad for 12v AGM batteries
@@mechmanalternators Thanks ,Tony will have save up for lithium .
But then again that’s all I want not looking for over 15v
I have a 2016 Lincoln MKZ with a 3.7 l with a factory 200 amp alternator I notice on your website you don't have anything for my application but you do have Mustang with a 3.7 would I be able to use that alternator in my application
I'd love to get one from you but you guys don't make an alt currently for my 08 Chevy Colorado so that sucks.
I have a 02 Buick leasbre on stock alternator and a xs power battery. Playing to have about a 5500 watts system. Which alternator should I grab the 240 or 320? I also plan to charge my battery often with my battery charger. Please need help!
240's work good for most daily driver applications. With the 320 you might loose some low/idle rpm output. I like to just use the 240's to be safe and just add battery bank.
Whats preventing you from making say 300amps at idle speeds?
RPM's
@@mechmanalternators ok. I'm assuming you can only make the pulley so small.
Are you familiar with the 09-14 f150 220 amp alternators? Do any of your alts make more at idle than the oem alt?
@@ah4800 The 220's are beasts of amps. Ours will make a little bit more due to smaller pulley and bearings for higher RPM's.
Fun fact, when we were building our 500+ amp offerings, we used the rotor and stator out of those(well, the same spec ones) to make them. :)
Hey tones that neg terminal on the 370 gave me a fit but I got it tho it's easy to cross thread if not careful and what about batt age and condition before loding the 370
That dam 370 is heavy as hell

I have a 2004 Grand Marquis with a optima yellowtop 34/78 under the hood, which alternator will stop my voltage from dropping under 13v & keep it constant @ 13.5 or higher??
400 amp
A guy that repair alternator and started told me that valeo alternator for ford fiesta SE can't be upgraded, will be nice to find one alternator of 240 amps cause im using dual HID headlight, 1,000 subwoofer, 1,200 audio amplifier, are you able to build one for ford fiesta SE 2012?
Some cars/engines just cannot accommodate a proper high output alternator. In your situation and wattage, I would just recommend a great battery like an XS Power Titan8 to use with your OEM alternator.
2012 accord 2 agm batteries and 3k sub amp looking for alternator size recommendations
Our 240 would be fine for that. Super easy, reliable...no drama.
What do I do about the eld do I run external regulator or is there another way around
@@zigzagman837 Unfortunately the ELD is the ELD is the ELD. You're either stuck running with it or have us build an alternator with a different regulator so we can bypass that.
Your inside battery light will be on, but the vehicle will charge perfectly fine in the 14.5-14.8 volt range.
If you don't care about the battery light, the bypass is the way to go! No extra charge, we just want to make sure you're aware of the whole process so you know exactly what is going on.
Would externally regulated be just as reliable its my daily and I have never done external regulator
Thank you for all your help do I just order through your wedsite
What exactly do I need for a 2005 chevy tahoe z71...with after market stereo...??....Thank you very much..

My alternator isn’t charging at idle. What’s wrong ??
What could I do to get better volts at idle
@@lilron018 More RPMs? Belt slip? Pulley ratio off? Anything.
@@mechmanalternators what do you mean more rpm? I don’t think the belt is slipping. What is the pulley ratio ?
@@mechmanalternators nah man I don’t think it’s any of that
I have a 300-320 alt and I think its not spinning fast enough at low rpm
