Hi, your garden isn't ready for sleep yet either Heidi, same here it's been so mild lately hasn't it? You still have lots of interest in your lovely garden. The birds enjoy the dried michaelmas daisy seeds, especially the finches. I'm trying to leave things as much as I can for the wild life unless it's really messy and needs tidying a bit. I remember last spring the birds were grateful for the alyssum I left in some of my borders over winter, they took all of it for their nests :) Enjoy your garden & the mild weather while you can, take care.
I leave almost all the Michaelmas daisies and sunchokes for the birds. I will leave the alyssums now as well. Oh my 😂😂 I was cutting back the daisies the roots were crazy 😜. Fall colours are quite spectacular Heidi. Is it a bacopa plant I have those in my garden but I didn’t know you can take cuttings 👍. Hi Faye, we used to be in zone 7a now we're in zone 8a and we had our first frost last Sunday (3rd of November). We used to have the first frost in September. In which zone are you and did you have your first frost already? Greetings Heidi 👩🌾💕
@gardentours yourbin perfect zone.im in zone 6b and yes we also have our first frost and my garden mostly ready for winter.i used leaves to mulch my beds. All annuals are done for the season and slowly cut them back and so does my perrenial..slowing down and chilling time for myself.🤗
