Missing true basics. How to turn on the navigation ? Where is the Start button ? How do you know it's on ? If you deviate from the track, how does it let you know ? So far I've spent hours on my bike without hearing a single useful thing to keep on the path, usually hearing nothing or turn the wrong direction.
Nothing But trouble. been out riding today and the Gaia app was hopeless for following a trail I've ridden before and downloaded. every time you click guide me the app closes. had it freeze so many times. I pay premium membership for the app and its completely useless to me
Do all the features and settings described in this video work on an offline map as well? Does the Guide Me feature come with an audio guide as well, like Siri in an iPhone?
Not helpful. I didn't learn how to navigate. I followed her directions but it just went back to the map without any guidance. She spent more time going over additional features, rather than actually showing how to navigate.
I paid for an annual membership and the app completely forgets what route you were following if the screen is shut off at all . Coordinates seem to be off with regard to accuracy.
This tutorial series is a long time coming and better by far than other videos, with Abby being an excellent presenter, but I agree with lifeinitaly that more screen and slower pace would make for better instructional videos. I've subscribed to Gaia for maybe 4 years and haven't used it on any of my treks because I'm not an intuitive user of GPS apps. Now, though, I'll give it a try next month on an off-trail backpacking trip.
how do I know how much farther to go along my route if following in offline mode? is there a way to determine how far to go from my current location to next waypoint?
Hi! I'm having trouble using the Guide Me function on long routes (>200kms) as "Something went wrong" error appears, even on routes created on gaia website. Any help?
Hi, thanks for your tutorial. Being an iPhone user, Is there a way to access Gaia on your iPhone without having to swipe up each time to unlock the homescreen? This was so much easier with Android.
Wish it worked. It doesn’t on my iPhone, despite having a paid subscription. I keep getting a message that says: “Something went wrong. Please try again later.”
First, the latest app is not the same version as what she is using here. Not a lot of changes, but if Gaia wants to make people pay and subscribe, then show us that you are good enough to earn business. Update the video!!! Some other competitors do the same crap by not updating the videos. This short introductory course (in fact, all course videos in the playlist) video, whatever, is only busy recapping what she did in the field rather than spending time to show what to do and how to do to help beginners learn and build upon. If this is the best Gaia could do to create the basic introductory course, no thanks, I am staying away from Gaia. So, count me out. Another incompetent app in this category that I am done with for good...............

My UI does not look like the one shown. I have no 'more' button. I created a custom map but cannot figure out how to navigate it.
Click a point on the route for example trail head and then click guide me to start navigating

Is the 'Guide Me' only available with premium version? I can't find that option with free version..

you've convinced me. i was considering this and all trails
My screen is way different than what she shows. Is there a more complete app? I think I have premium.

If you make your route public, add you stated prior, does your hidden jacket waypoint show up there too?

Thanks. Great info to have.
how do I create a route?

You go through the steps way too quickly for me to be able to make sense of.
RUclips has a great feature that allows you to rewind and pause the video so you can learn at your own pace!
@@shalomgoyim1211 Thanks Shalom. Yes I do know that, but after rewinding and replaying ~9 times to hear one sentence, I gave up.
Too quickly for me too. It would be better if they show more of the screen and less of the lady.
The girl goes too quickly in this video. I cannot duplicate anything she does.
