- Looking for the best free option to vectorise images now vectorizer.ai is no longer free? In this video I'll share the best free tool I found so far which has by far the best results from the various free options.
We will take a quick look how it works and also take a look in Affinity Designer how the created file looks
LInk to svgconverter
svgconverter.a...
Some alternatives
Free:
PhotoPea www,photopea.com (use image-vectorise bitmap from menu)
Inkscape www.inkscape.org (trace bitmap function)

Vector Magic (mac/windows/web - best)

Nice find!
It makes the continuous absence of a Trace tool, in Designer 2.4, even more unexcusable.
I have Inkscape installed, just to roundtrip to it for its AutoTrace.
Pretty good!!
Im still using vectorizer, but i screenshot that image and then autotrace in corel draw. Its really saving my time
😂😂
The title gave me the wrong immersion. I thought that Affinity Designer had this feature now.
We are all hoping for it :)
I found Photopea to be literally perfect. Honestly, better than vectorizer was (tbh it's been a few months since I used vectorizer).
Great tip! Thanks for sharing
thank for your instructions
You are welcome!
Thank you, very useful!
You're welcome!
Thanks for guiding!
Any time!
In my case I always using Figma with tracing plugin, it was made by a creator so we need to pay, I think it was $5 at that time, and fully functional as expected to trace, even quite complex logo, and it has multicolor tracing too
Thank you for sharing! Great tip.
Inkscape does this for free
Inkscape has a feature that’s comparable to illustrator’s trace tool?
Yep! Inkscape is pretty cool
sad paid program can't compare to FOSS
Brilliant thank you. Is there a way of cleaning up the excess nodes whilst keeping the integrity of the shapes?
If i am not mistaken, affinity designer has a basic simplify path option in the node toolbar, which slightly decreases the nodes without affecting the curve too much
Good demo, thanks. A bit off-topic, I know but can I ask who the black & white character with the top hat and swag bag is, or what he is related to if anything? Many thanks..
Thank you. :) The monopoly (monocle) man
@@Graphicalfinity YESSS.. I knew he wore a monocle! The Mandela effect is wrong!

@@Graphicalfinity Thank you 😊
can you use "transform all" on objects on different artboards?
Boring!!. Haven't they written in there terms "free, only for using the api"? Only for the betaversion - i believe. I'm using Vector Magic for more than a decade. But ist outdated and there is no further developement. It comes also from Cedar Lake ... 😞
Vector Magic has indeed been my choice for many years! Best investment i ever did :)
Only fills, no strokes. Old Adobe trace did it.
Try to leave Adobe because of subscriptions and then here we are 😂
😹
I tried a new option. He does a lot worse with the vectorization process. Especially visible in the details.
Totally true! Nothing beats vectorizer ai, but from the free online tools, svgconverter is the best so far
Very much doubt the image is not uploaded to a server and that it is done locally.
You might be right... i probably got confused with another tool.. but i'll check.
Thanks, interesting video. How's Vector Magic vs Vectorizer? Because I see both services are operated by Cedar Lake Ventures
Personally i think vector magic is the best tool after vectorizer.ai, it can't beat it but is very close and has more options for customisation.
He tagged it as affinity designer but using another program to do it lamer than lame...lol
:) 'cause AD has no tracer
Inkscape
Rulez :)
wow......
:)
This subscription system is getting ridiculous
Couldn’t agree more
OMG that app sucks!
