    "Final Warning" celebrates the approach taken by Subaru to the world of performance cars. An approach which has, with the advent of this latest UK spec STI, become a legacy.
    One horsepower a year, for the last twenty years - a good deal or not? Find out in this story of the car which sees Subaru bow out of a stage they've owned for decades.
    The rally cars are gone, the rally stars are going, so was it right to stick to the script for this Final Edition Impreza STI?

    I purchased a 2018 STI recently and love it. Prior to buying it, I was looking into the RS and Type R. I told my pops (a fellow car enthusiast who owns 4 porsches now), and he said ok, I understand about the Type R and RS, but at the end of the day you're in a Focus or a Civic, no matter how fast they are. The STI holds a very high resale value and is it's own beast. This helped me make my decision.

      I got 2018 sti limited, this one is my second one. I learn my lesson. Nothing gave me close satisfaction as Sti. Enjoy your sti and drive safe.

      I bought a 2019 Limited for much the same reason. I looked at the RS and the Type R. For me, the STi offered the most raw and engaging driving experience. The STi is one of a kind.

    One of the best description of STI's, you don't buy subaru because performance on paper, you buy it because is your life. The sound, the presence and the flatout gravel drive....In single mirror is more emotions then in whole audi rs...they just dont understand....#stiforever

    I have a 2015 STI and I love it! It might not be the fastest, but it can handle the backroads really great. Subaru has been in the game for years and they know that they have accomplished everything there is to accomplish in the race industry. That is why they left the WRC, because they won that series. They will move forward with technology and we will all see the awesome future Subaru will have. Time will tell and don't worry Subaru will be there. I happen to work for Subaru and I can tell you this, the future looks awesome!!! Great video and the Final Edition is a great car!!

      They left because of the economy, they needed to save money. Subaru was in the wrc for 19 years, they won 3 world championships and 3 manufacturers championships, thats far from domination.

    This is a very nice review. Love it. People asked me why I bought a dinosaur car, I said, "no, I got a classic car." The 90's is still alive!!

    Great car, Wrx STI was always a legend.
    It doesn't matter how much HP it produced, or that it hadn't premium interior, it was, is and will always be a legend.
    I hope they will still produce the STI.
    Great review :)

    Yet again a quality production....it’s a great shame we don’t get more content, it’s a joy to watch and listen to someone with knowledge and passion, rather than the latest wrap and trick exhaust fitted to a heavily financed “Super” car...

    He reminds me of Richard Hammond ! His eyes are similar. Great video, great car, hopefully my next. He is correct with a lot he says about this car. Subaru have nothing to prove with the STI. They dont give a shit what Ford or Honda or VW are doing, and neither do I as a Subaru fan. What you get with an STI is a genuine, old school driving machine, enough power, handling and comfort for most people, as a daily driving or weekend car. If looked after, this will far outlast the competition, and is so full of character you will never wish to let it go, or have any desire to drive any other brand but Subaru. Tech inside cars will advance ridiculously as the years progress but im not interested in gadgets and toys. I simply want the driving experience, the sound, the feel, the boxer rumble. Remember folks, by 2040 there will be no more petrol cars being made. Get them while you can !

    It is so emotional watching this, too much exactly,but on a good way. The best car for me, the first and the last brand i will ever drive and buy, Realy good work on the description! Thank you for those 6:46 min of emotion!

    People on the internet will going to be like those stereotype girlfriends:
    STI Old Engine = omg old tech, bring on the new engine
    WRX/Viziv New Engine = OMGG New engine, no rumble +hybrid, I don't like you anymore you've CHANGED!!!!!!!
    Another example: look at the NSX

    The oily bits like dem £40 not forged pistons. Probably why it doesn't make power. The tyre ra is the us has stronger pistons.
    This is a standard 2018 model in other markets and it's only special here.

  • @LawrenceTimme

    Lol they didn't take the inspection stickers of the back of the doors mirrors. How triggering.

    s208 is 56000 usd in japan

  • @BookofJob3XVII
    @BookofJob3XVII 6 лет назад

    I want to like the sti, but reliability in the long run is too risky, after 70k miles the engine will burn oil like crazy, ej motors don’t respond well to mods like the 2 liter turbo 4g63s that can pump out 500hp on a stock block.

  • @Smithy67

    Final edition only in UK, plenty still being sold around the world, and look at the S208, the S209 in the US. It's just that you're not getting them.

      Scooby Rick I very rarely reply to vid comments - I’d get carried away! But can’t resist a bit of car chat every now and then.
      It may not be badged an Impreza, but it’s like me changing my name to Mandy - deep down, I’d still be Paul.
      Thanks very much for your comment, delighted you enjoyed watching the video.
      Cheers
      Paul

      Paul Woodford or Mandy at the weekends ;)
      I know what you mean, to be honest I didn't even know until I had purchased my 2017 (if I had only waited 3 months! I would have got the final edition) I found out and was shocked (concidering the name was removed in 2014!) Checking all the documents, owners manual etc - No Impreza wording :/
      It is habit, this is my fourth over the years and was also saying Impreza alot to start with. But the Impreza is now a totally different car from what we remember.
      Are both yours in the video?
      Again great video.

    • @vossler360
      @vossler360 6 лет назад

      Although Subaru dropped the word Impreza from the current generation WRX, this doesn't change the fact that the current WRX is still derived from the previous-generation Impreza.

    • @rickymob28

      Eric Shea I think you missed the point buddy! 😂🤣

    • @vossler360
      @vossler360 6 лет назад

      Then could you clarify the point that you attempted to make? Although the Impreza has evolved over its multiple generations, the WRX variant continues to be derived from it.
