*What you favotite faction is? M-Tron? Unitron? Space Police? Or maybe something else?*
My favourite space theme was Ice Planet. It was pretty cool ;)
M-Tron, I have had the stellar recon voyager since I was little.
🤔
@@lukewolsey Ah me too ! It was my Christmas gift. I was 4 or 5 and it was to big for me to build it but I did it :)
@@branislavbaran8108 Ah! I love it too! I remember the cataloguu Lego with. So cool
The age of innocence of LEGO when all the mini figures were smiling no matter what. Today they are either full of movie franchises with “bad” guys or having monster faces. I was dreaming of these sets when I was a kid.
I wish I'd never sold my old Lego. These 1980 & early 90's sets bring back memories...
The first 3 minutes were basically my childhood (born 1975) reloaded 😊
90s space sets really knew translucency is where it's at. I look at modern lego sets and there is just too much opacity
Transparent
The only exception is the cool black and Red Star wars ones such as Kylo Rens Shuttle and Tie Fighter :). These two are brilliant sets to have on display.
@Quentin P I still am mesmerized by them. It would be nice if they made a new space theme using the new shade of translucent neon green.
Well the modern sets may have a few cool PIECES, but just don’t come close to the 90’s sets man. What was that Island Tribe sets called ?
If it had trans neon green, it’s a win. 😂
Man, from about 92’-97’ really brought back some memories. I think I still have a bunch of parts from those years kicking around.
When I was 5, our house burned down, and we had to stay with neighbors for a couple months. During that time, all I did was play with the neighbor kid's legos. These were his legos. Especially the late 90's sets. Gosh they bring back memories. They ended up giving me some because, well, we had literally no toys since our house fire, and I kept playing with them for years. Now I have my own kids, who are just barely old enough to enjoy legos, and I need to get the old lego sets down from the attic and relive my childhood with them.
Great story!
It's charming how simple and straightforward the early models were, almost like a child would design them
exactly what i said to myself when watching the video, i love the old lego so much
Star Wars is great, but killed a lot of creativity and fun.
Exactly
I built my own TIE-fighter back then, long before they came out. Kind of primitive, but very swooshable. Finally, which other property do they need?
My favourite that my dad bought me was the blacktron 😊 I was born 1983. Dad just passed away 4 months ago but seeing these sets again brings back nice memories 😊
Man what a trip down memory lane... I was so happy to have a bunch of these and I yearned so much for those I never had! Can't wait to have kids in the right age for this.
11:27 6984 - Galactic Mediator : As a kid this was my biggest wish and i never received one. Now 30+ years later my wife bought this set for my birthday.. i cannot describe what joy i felt. I love her...
I'm glad you finally got one! I got this as a kid, and it was definitely the centerpiece of my space legos. Even though I always took them apart eventually, the design and pieces from it inspired so many more ships.
It was the same for me with Pirates ships. I understand your feelings.
Wow.. to think some of these are 40 years old! It's imcredible how timeless Lego really is. These are still cool
Yes. Sime of them are older than me!!!
I still have some of the parts to some and they are still good
Oh my goodness! Some of my first Lego sets ever! Nostalgia is hitting hard!! Being from South America during the 80s, Lego blocks were really hard if not impossible to get. I had to ask my relatives living in the US to bring me some sets when they visited us. So I had to wait long periods of time hoping I would get something when they came. When my family visited the US for the first time in 1990, we went to Toys'R' Us and I thought I was gonna get a heart attack when I saw aisle after aisle full of different Lego sets. Sweet childhood memories.
Oh I imagine the hapiness. In my childhood in Poland I could spent hours in shops only looking Lego Sets.
Ahh the fond memories :-) I had many of the models from 78 to 83 ... looking at them all now, I am amazed at the change of themes, it goes from discovery, science and exploration at the beginning to alien, police and even fighters and war machines at the end of the 90's. I am unsure what changed in society and the need to push in this direction, since I remember my friends and I where already really thrilled by the models of the beginning.
Conflict is fun. I had the early grey/blue sets and there was always a mysterious protaganist causing problems for the Red, White & Yellow suited mini figs.
6780 XT Starship. I still have it on my shelf here in my home office. Best space ship ever. Light&Sound still working! First Blacktron series was also a blast!
proud owner of the 6979 interstellar starfighter 15:22
i didn't remember i had it till i saw these designs popping up a bit earlier in the vid. what a nostalgia trip.
Ohh the memories, M-Tron, Black-Tron ... what great concepts!
This truly gifted my spacial thinking 😀
Classic Space (1978-1988), Mars Mission (2007-2008) and Space Police III (2009-2010) are top 3 for me.
Yes!!
Do many fond memories of the 90s with these builds
Yes!!!! From 1980-87 I had a few of these. Then puberty hit
Pain in the brain trying to remember which sets I had from these in the 80s. I remember better what kind of bricks I had than a specific set. Then there's chance I remember what my buddies might have had instead of myself. Also as a child back then you spend so much time going through Toy Catalogues full of lego sets that you might remember what you saw or dreamed of having, lol. 90s set actually look foreign to me so I guess i stopped playing with legos then. Thank for the videos, nostalgy is strong in this one.
My LL928 survived a Hurricane that destroyed the entire camping area i was in as a kid lol. It still bares some of the mud marks on the Lego i couldn't get out. Sadly the box was destroyed. I had only just gotten it for Xmas 2 days beforehand too.
I had many from the 90's era. Hard to name a favourite, there were so many cool ones from that time period.
I completely forgot that I had the Robot Command Center! I definitely had some of the smaller ones because those were affordable. But, above all, I STILL remember getting the Cosmic Fleet Voyager for my birthday. I would rebuild it over and over again for years to come. I also was very proud to own every single original Blacktron set: Invader, Battrax, Renegade, Alienator, and Message Intercept Base (2nd favorite set). I also had the SP Striker (Light and Sound), Galactic Peace Keeper, Spy Trak 1. Also, I had Magnetron: Pulsar Charger, Beacon Tracer, Vector Detector, Particle Ionizer, Mega Core Magnetizer (which is still built I think- probably at my parent’s house!). Great trip down memory lane.
Recently retrieved my m-tron core magnetiser from my parents loft and assembled it for the first time in over 25 years! Amazing set and one that I’ll always keep!
I'm working on trying to piece that one together. The wheels go for $20 bucks for 1 on Ebay. It's crazy how expensive those older pieces are
My heart cannot take so much nostalgia at once !!!
The monorail with electric motor was the mostest awesomest present I ever got for Christmas as a kid
OMG I remember some of these sets I had! My favorite toys. Now I'm in my early 40s and I just went wild, I made three trips to two different Lego stores in the last two weeks, I bought sets for my nephew and, for myself, a LOT of pieces off of the pick-a-brick walls with a Classics box, and I'm building stuff for fun like I was a kid again.
Had many of these. Born in 1973. 😎
So many memories from sets I had from the mid 80s to mid 90s, thanks for making the video.
Takes me back to my childhood
Wwwwoooww ! Had some of these. What a wonderful childhood, back in the 80's/90's
I like the Classic space for early sets, plus Insectoids as my favorite later theme.
They all look so cool. I wish I have one.
1:18 That was my most favorite Lego set when I was a kid....and still is today.
I can smell so many of these sets still!
Ooh the 85-86 ones bring back memories. :)
Had so many of these from the 90s! The monorail transport base was my favorite! I saved all of my LEGO.
Fond memories of Space Cruiser and Gamma V Laser Craft :) Awesome re-creation of the former in the last picture !!!
Sonic robot from 1986, Orion II hyperspace from 1987. Alienator 1988. I still remember all these birthdays 😁 And what's best these sets are still under fire with my sons.
Had an 6953: Cosmic Laser Launcher as a kid... I remember it to this day, 40years later. Good memories. :)
6990: Monorail Transport System was my dream, but back then it was veeeeery pricey.
BlackTron Avenger was always my favorite, I will get it some day ;) and Ice Planet helmets are amazing, I had 2, both broken..
YES! this is what xmas was all about!
In 2014 they released a set called "Classic Space Minifigure" that consisted of a white classic space minifigure (with a Futuron style helmet) and a robot.
When a blinking light was the real thing :D
i had every single one of them when I was a kid. amazing memories!
Brings back some great memories!! Thanks 🙏 had a lot of the early ones
So many great sets and memories. Thank you!
memories back... Thank You for this video :)
Akbar at the end killed it 😁👌🏻
Thanks for uploading this video! As a little boy i got some of the very first models shown here. My highlight was the "Space Cruiser And Moonbase" 1:17. 🥳Received it under the Christmas Tree. 🌲😃 Was sooo proud of it!
So many childhood memories 🤗
I loved the M Tron and Black Tron sets. 6988 ftw!!!
Me tooo. It was my generetion :)
6861 X1 Patrol Craft! That was my first Lego set (as in, not just a bucket of bricks). I remember my older brother helping me put it together once (I was too young to follow the instructions, just barely old enough to remember getting it for Christmas), and then after it was disassembled and the instructions lost I tried for years to put it back together from memory but never really could. I had a picture in my mind of what it was in general, but I could never remember how certain parts needed to be arranged. Seeing this now, that is 100% the thing. That was the shape, those were the pieces, and that was the space man.
3:54 this unnamed one we had..i remember it as if it was yesterday. loved this model. it was very versatile with different plans and oooh 5:25 that robot was the best!!!!
the sonar transmitting cruiser, my favorite lego toy, i must have been 7 or 8 years old when i get it. the lights and sound, the sound i can still hear seeing the picture.. waou
I miss very much Lego Vintage time....
Thanks a lot! I was surprised how many sets I was not yet aware of.
6987 Message Intersept Base was so good! One of my favourite Sets :))
Love this video thank you. I remember so many of these sets. I actually have most of them.
My 6990 Space Monorail is still stored in the original box, with extra track, in my Dad's loft. I remember seeing it in a random Lego leaflet my friend got, and I was in awe of it. Somehow I managed to save up my pocket money and actually buy it!
Absolutely love these space themed sets! I still own the Monorail (called "Galax Star Express" in Germany). The Alien Moon Stalker is wonderful and I always adored the Cosmic Fleet Voyager.
god I loved those late 70s space legos. I still have a part or 2 from them that my kids now have. I miss the moonbase base part with the craters
Okay....so totally not ashamed that when I saw the 70s and 80s kits I had a little nostalgic cry for a mo...
This entire video brings back simpler times. So many great childhood memories. The synthesizer music is a nice touch to this trip down nostalgia lane. Thank You, enjoyed every second of this.
Btw, was 6940 Alien Moon Walker inspired from the AT-AT walker from Empire Strikes Back?
I got the All Terrain Vehicle for my birthday when I was a kid. I just finished the new Galaxy Explorer! It was a fun build. Even if some of the builds themselves were suspect it was always cool to get new space parts.
I got the 6983 Ice Station Odyssey for christmas in '93. Build it together with my grandpa. These memories.
Man... i wished they re released older sets now that i actually have money to buy them... specially the space sets were the coolest.
wow! so many memories! thx man! cool video.
Thank you for these memories, it's really good to see this one after such a long time. you can sort of see when I was no longer interested in them and consequently I have no memory of when they were produced on a particular year.
I had 6889, what a memories. Thx !
I was born in 1974 and had the best parents being in a military family. My parents had always gifted me the coolest Lego sets during Christmas and to this day I have always regretted giving away the early sets, especially number 487. Not because they are sought after for their value but for the amount of great memories of my childhood attached to them.
The Invader, the Robot Command Center, and the Walking Lab thing were amazing when I was little. Still ate I guess.
Seriously I had most of these kits back in the day. The ‘mission commander’ was my fave
Thanks! I got a mass of lego space back there. i have all the brinks but no instructions. Thanks to you i got the numbers and now i can begin to rebuild them!
👍 Thanks for showing
12:52 6939 Saucer Centurion - I still have it somewhere. The visible split in the front middle is actually where the saucer was split in half - If you pulled from the sides, the saucer would split half an inch and the droid in the space cart would drop into action! That's why there's a visible hole through the empty cockpit.
wow so many space sets
What did you reminded me... I had (and should still have somewhere) the ICE base odissey ! What a nostalgia.
Think I had at least half of the sets from 1979- 1988, great time to be a kid 😀
i was born in 1989, and when i started to play with lego i didn't even realise what awesome stuf Lego realiest back in the day. Now im adult, and still can't belive it xD
6:13 Oh man, I remember having this beast when I was a child
Alles von 98-92 hab ich davon noch. Nur alles in einer box und die Bauanleitung dazu. Top Video.
The nostalgia i have those on my attic ☺️
Best sets ever! My was Ice Planet and SpacePolice II
Lego peaked around this time (late 70s). I had a few of these space lego things. 0:58, it was to me a fighter.
2:22 - 6890 - my favourite toy as a child. I must have build dozens of larger space ships that all had the ability to eject a smaller craft like this one does.
I got that as a Xmas present back in the day. Was pretty unique with that feature.
I remember on every single one!
I had a few of them, but not all! 😉
I had some of the early sets from the 70’s as a kid. Still have them somewhere in the attick.
nice! I found my old set ! Moonrail was my dream. I had a picture of it with 2 stations.
Monorail is amazing
I still have Alien Avenger ! Good times, now my boy has built it !
1992 galactic mediator!!! 😍 my childhood!!
I still have a passion of these lego set in a box most with blueprints
wow!
I had at least 10 Lego Models from this serie. I watched a lot S-F movies about Aliens and Mars and Archive X about UFO, when I was small
I so wish Lego would bring these back, as vintage sets!
The monorail is 1 of my favorites second is all the big ship sets and big bases/rovers.
😃👍
02:07 my all time favorite: 6927 All-Terain Vehicle 🤩
Wow, i still have 6891 from 1985. I remember when i get it at my birthday from my parents. It was awesome!
Lego should bring back those sets
The OG Mobile Lab was my introduction to Lego at age 7. I recently rebuilt it for display in my office
I remember having the 6862 Secret Space Voyager as a child :D
I distinctly remember the aliens showing up in 1997 being a BIG deal for us 8 year olds. Long gone were the rivalries of Blacktron and the Ice Planet
