Today I am very excited to be trying out this MEGA bucks new concealer from Chanel! But can it beat my holy grail that is A QUARTER of the price?

I am 38 and my skin is pretty "normal" with no dryness or particular oily areas. I do have early signs of aging like fine lines/texture, as well as some sun damage and REDNESS!
I don't use fake tan, but I get very tan naturally in the summer as I have an olive undertone so my face is often a LOT lighter than my body, because I keep my face very well protected to keep my melasma under control and signs of aging at bay!

Charlotte, as far as the shades of the concealer if the last number is 0 such as 10, 20, 30, etc. those are beige with a neutral undertone and it gets darker as the numbers increase. If the last digit is a 2 such as the first shade 02 then it has a rosy/cool undertone. Shades with the last digit being 1 such as 91 have a golden/warm undertone. And obviously the higher the number the deeper the shade. The lightest is 02 and the deepest is 132.
I’m light/medium with I guess a more neutral tone. I’m thinking 20 would be best. What is your opinion?
I am discovering that those of us who have lots of undereye texture and wrinkles where no concealer looks good under our eyes benefit the most from the Sublimage concealer more. It also has their Sublimage eye cream in it so over time the bags, dark circles, and and wrinkles will be reduced. It's expensive because you're paying for the eye care ingredients in it.

@@SusieQ1971 I was looking at this and their regular concealer in the tube with the standard applicator, which I prefer. The tubs are more messier but I was wondering what the difference was between the two because there is a big difference in price!

I got one of the empty Chanel sample jars and put some of the concealer in that which allows the larger jar to sit on my vanity and I use the concealer from the little pot I filled. When that is gone then I’ll put in more. So I’m not dealing with the mess. The Chanel jar is just so pretty

🌸They both look lovely!🌸 I threw my plastic lid away on the CHANEL shade 32. These are my favorite 2 concealers. I am 57 with minimal lines. I am happy I have both🌸Thank you for the video 🌸
I THOUGHT that space looked different!
(FYI, turn the lampshade so the reflected seam is behind the actual shade: it will pull the horizontals to your cheekbone. The angle of the painting (of Bath?) properly draws attention from the tight side if the screen to your eyes & the bottom of frame to your mouth. You might consider turning that one item that is reflecting a light blowout in the shelf?)

It absolutely does look smoother
It’s possible the Chanel will make a difference under your eye over time with the sublimage skincare. I have deep wrinkles under my eyes due to the many eye surgeries so most concealers look horrible on me. This Chanel concealer sinks in so it doesn’t do that. I love it. I did try it once on my very oily eyelids and it creased so I won’t do that again - I will stick to something dryer. For me I love it.
I have lots of wrinkles under my eyes as well and every concealer emphasizes them and doesn't last, it fades due to the texture. Do you find that the Chanel Sublimage concealer lasts all day? Do you have to set it, powder gives me a very crepey aged look.

I was always using Huda too but recently bought the Chanel one and I’m sold. I don’t use concealer every day so I know it will last me a year or more so the splurge is okay. I’ll use my Huda on other days. But the Chanel does not settle in my lines and wrinkles. And it moisturizes too
This is a gorgeous concealer, And maybe I would go in store for the right shade, I mean it's beautiful, both are!
On the camera the Huda looks smoother. I have the Huda and it’s currently beating all my previous concealers for zero creasing and maximum staying power.
Great video, thank you! Love that you compared it with another. A year later they haven’t changed the flaws, yikes. The shade was a surprise. No difference once applied & finished, wow. For me can’t put a price on A difference. I’m 45 and those little differences add up. If it’s more radiant than it’s better because i am looking for radiant under eyes over coverage say.
considering the color difference, the Chanel looks better than I thot it would, it blended into your skin tone beautifully. Not too pink after all. Nice background

Nothing will drag me away from my Nars concealers, least of all one costing £85 that really has to be kept upright to avoid half the contents ending up in the lid 😬. Love the new background btw, it looks very cosy.

How does each concealer interact with your foundation(s)?
@Karen Katona. I've never had any problems with Nars concealers not working with any foundation I use, and I have about 6 different ones I use on and off.

Hi Charlotte, on camera the Chanel side does look more hydrated and youthful, whereas the Huda looks a tad dryer. I think maybe if you left the powder off just to see how they fared. I get the messy side of the Chanel, packaging is beautiful but not hygienic and bothersome to use Great video. X

Fab filming space! Very sophisticated and classy. The burgundy jumper suits you too. The difference between the concealers, in terms of look, is negligible. Worth the price differential? I wouldn't. Huda looks lovely.

I do wonder if this would work without setting with powder (i.e. with all the radiance still in place). Also, lighter concealer does look good on you (either that or Huda oxidises... it does not come across as neutral, at least not on video, and it looks a bit too dark by comparison). That being said, a tube instead of a pot would be more practical and sanitary...

I love your new background. I definitely like the Huda side better than the Chanel. The color match is much better. The coverage is better, and it looks a lot more smoothing. The Huda covers the "hollows" of the under eye much better I feel like I can see a little shadow of the under eye hollow on your Chanel side. Huda just looks better all around

The chanel side looks waaay better IMHO. I have the sublimage foundation and its beautiful. But like you, i find the luxurious pots very messy. With the chanel having sublimage skincare in it, the more you wear it ,the more it benefits your skin. Maybe you should try the regular chanel concealer. Your skin doesn't have the issues that sublimage is geared towards 😊
Had you not put the Huda on too, I would have said the Chanel looks great (and it does)! But once on the skin, I think I actually prefer the way the Huda looks after wear. It’s a very small difference to me, but for the price the Chanel should be an overwhelming difference.

Such a helpful comparison Charlotte. I’ve had the Chanel in my basket for a week and couldn’t decide if it was worth it. I am using the Huda at the moment and love it. I didn’t see much if any difference between the two on you and certainly not 4 x the price difference. I’ll stick with what I have. Shame though cos Sublimage essence de Teint is my absolute favourite foundation! X
Havent tried huda or chanel but compared to nars, dior, mac, tarte, ysl, charlotte tilbury etc I find Armani luminous silk concealer the best.
The luminous silk doesn't cover well enough though. What do you like most about it?

If you were wearing Huda in the same shade as the Chanel would it accentuate texture because it would be lighter and shade? Maybe

Makeup is designed to make beautiful..
But what makeup really does is make us feel beautiful on the INSIDE and out.
Just holding a luxury make up product makes you feel good on the inside… Is that worth $85? Yeah maybe

Nope ! I won't pay that kind of money as well on a concealer. I have four favorites of concealers at this time. Charlotte your background looks cozy. I love it ! I agreee Huda appears to look much nicer with full coverage. Huda is a keeper !!! ❤

Hello Charlotte! I love the new background! As for the Chanel concealer, that's a hard pass for me. Glass jar? It's unsanitary to say the least. I guess that was Chanel's attempt to justify the hefty price tag.

I bought the huda beauty one because of the great reviews, but i hate it. I use it, but it's a no for me. I will go back to Armani and Dior and forget this huge mistake. Can you do an update on your favorites based on your everyday rotine,please? Love your energy

Honestly I thought Huda side looked better. It could be the Chanel was a little light. If it’s too light on me I can see my darkness more.

Aside from the color, I don't see much difference. But: for that price, you should. Plus for the Huda to me is the shaderange, the applicator and of course the price. So the Chanel one is beautiful, but no competition for the Huda Beauty.

I think the Chanel is pretty. But, I just can’t justify the price. I get great results with Huda and Lancome. If I did buy the the Chanel I would decant it into an airless pump jar. I don’t like sticking my finger or a little spatula into a jar. Thank you for reviewing this.❤️

Honest comment: The Chanel side brightens your eye up. It actually lifts your eye when comparing the two and I would not spend that kind of money on concealer so my comment is visually truthful.
I agree, I didn't notice that until I dropped down from full screen towards the end. And since I haven't figured out how best to use my Urban Decay concealer, I am not in the market for a super pricey one lol
The Chanel side is definitely brighter, but that is because of the much lighter shade x

For the price, there is no real difference, I would stick to Huda!!! I love mine and of course my Holy Grail Lancome Teinte Idole!!!! Your jumper is a gorgeous colour on you BTW!!!
Which has the more coverage the Huda or the Lancome Teint idole concealer ? Which would cover dark circles better ? Many thanks 🙏
@@newgangan4754 It depends on the kind of texture you prefer. the Lancome is more of a liquid and is very buildable, the Huda is slightly thicker and gives good coverage. I find the lancome better if my undereyes are particularly dry. Hope this helps somewhat. x
Chanel 100 percent
I purchased the Chanel concealer - it is very good, but very,very messy- you put the smallest amount on,and it’s still too much.. and it is hard to get a small amount of that pot- almost impossible..That is just my opinion
