Best kept secret....run a snow lens! I run prospect with the red/chrome acs amplifier lense. Double lens, vented. Best fov. Hands down the best goggle. I run them year, winter and summer. The vented lense stops fogging from sweat and heat and also stops fogging/icing in winter. Lense change not the best, but I just run 2 sets. A tinted and a clear. Both double vented lenses.
The Airbrake has a clear OA-59-070 or tinted OA-59-071 dual pane lens option so that deals with the fogging. You can also purchase the MTB foam kit OA-103-166-001 and fit it for those hard enduro days when you've got a sweat on... If you ski or snowboard just add the snowcross accessory kit OA-100-263-001. If you Jetski then try the H2o kit OA-100-814-001 Talk about versatile. How good is the Airbrake if it can still be top of the class after almost a decade.
My favorite lens color is the Rose AMP lens they have on the Prospect. It's just the right amount of tint from the sun but doesn't feel dark when there is cloud cover or low light. I also really like the Prizm Torch lens from Oakley - Chase
Good video. Love the Oakley Air Brakes, but you are correct, they do fog up super quick and that is a really big issue up here on the east coast in Canada.
I haven't ridden in that helmet so I can't give an exact answer to your question, but I will say that it does have a nice large eye port so I can't imagine you would have a problem with any goggle in that helmet. - Chase
T Check out the Oakley Frontline. They are Prescription glasses compatible come in cool colors and prizm lens options. Toughened safety lens are std. Not exactly quick change lenses but pretty simple and once you get the hang of them it takes less than 1 minute. I wear glasses in my goggles. Give your glasses a wipe with rainex (or similar) the evening before you ride and in the morning of the ride as well. A couple of layers helps a lot.
I have never heard of the 509, however I haven't been to UT or CA in quite awhile. What draws me to a goggle is, can you find lenses while you are away from your favorite shop. Scott's nope, Leatt's, nope, sometimes Oakley are hard to find but 100% has been in every shop I have been too. And you don't need 10 different lens for the manufacture line. I have found that 100% are the best in that you pretty much only need one style lens. Oakley (even though I have been sponsored locally by them) find they are crazy expensive. So for almost all my riding I have stuck to the 100%.
@@project34beats I use the Armega Google. There have been updates sense I last posted. However, any mirror lens tend to do both of the requirements you are asking for.
I have the 100% amegas and the thing i hate about it is that the tear off post brakes easily and when it breaks they don’t have a replacement so you have to buy a whole new goggle so that’s why I’m switching to Scott’s
The last time I went riding I wore my Oakley M Frame 2.0s under my helmet and as an extra layer some mid 2000's Smith goggles. Crude but it worked for me.
for my money the Oakley Airbrakes are the only way to go. I know they cost more but with their lens changing system and the optically correct lens make this a combo that cant be beat, If you cant afford the full price just wait til they go on sale and pick a coupe pairs. Also make sure you buy some tear offs to protect your investment. We ride a lot of over grown trails and the branches will scratch the lens.
Nice! The Prospect is tough for me because in some helmets, it presses down on my nose, and in others it doesn't But yes, very lightweight feeling and good field of view. - Chase
@@rmatvmc thanks chase. Do you find the Scott's press down on your nose when wearing the fox V3 RS helmet? Just curious as I might buy this helmet next. Thanks man

hi, when you say that Oakley lenses are clearer are you also referring to the totally transparent ones? even those are better than clear lenses from other brands? Or are clear lenses from all brands almost the same and Oakley loses value then?
The clear lens from Oakley transmits 93% of all available light and the Dual clear transmits 90% of all available light. But its the material the lens is made of that makes the difference. Airbrake™ MX and Front Line™ MX lenses are injection-molded under extreme pressure with high-impact Plutonite® to create a precise contour of optically correct geometry and clarity. Plutonite® is the most optically pure lens material ever utilized for MX goggles.
@@iantempleton7181 so even if you consider a simply bank / transparent lens, even the oakley one makes the difference compared to that of other brands because it offers a more correct vision. Also in comparison with other brands that print pre-curved and rigid lenses?
I used to get the ARC goggles that RMATV offered at one time. They were very inexpensive so when they wore out I just replaced the goggle with another one. I can see if you are a serious racer any one of these goggles would be a top choice, though.
Currently rocking the vue and I have zero complaints. The Oakleys should be here in a couple days. The fogging up issue might be a problem cause I wear glasses. I’ll let you know how bad it is after I try them out
Hi Kevin! So you're a big sweater, huh? Same here! The Armegas are probably the best for this with how thick the foam is. But a little trick that many pros do is put a maxi pad on the goggle where it touches the forehead to absorb more sweat. Just google Maxi Pad on motocross goggle and some images will show up.- Chase
@@rmatvmc I’ve heard about the maxipad trick, but haven’t tried it. Will see how it goes. I use a Halo brand head band when road cycling which is great for keeping sweat out of the eyes, but may not do much for fogging.
Kind of offended you didn’t include the Lucid goggle from EKS brand, easily right up there with the rest of these if not better than most of them. Super helpful video nonetheless
Leatt is your best bet probably. I have many high end goggles. Leatt are by far the deepest. Kind of annoying, as it diminishes the field of view. But you can certainly fit glasses inside.
Armega is the best I have ever worn. Yes, a bit pricey but worth it. Only problem right now is that it is hard to find tear offs. Probably floating on a container ship still.
Winter riding with the Oakley sucks , fogs up .. you’d think for the premium price the goggle would be bulletproof... . Won’t purchase Oakley anymore ..
