This comment made me actually laugh, pretty funny. Hey join a sailing club or get yourself something small to start, even a canoe! Getting out on the water is the best, sounds like you'd enjoy it.
When the comment section hits home…
I can't wait to start my sail boat life. I plan on selling everything and working and saving money and finding a sail boat. I'm a new subscriber
Was the best decision of our life scott! what boat are you looking at? thanks for joining our family!
Have you done it yet?
I think I'm with that
Subscribed. I'm in medicine. After I work 15. Or so years I pray I can do this with the love of my life.

@@WhenSailing I'm just dreaming right now, I would like to pick up sailing in the next few years as i get ready to retire.
Awesome plan! At the end it is really easy, a lot of patience as everything depends on the wind and weather but really worth it! Keep is posted on your plans & who knows maybe we meet up on the sea⛵️🤞🏼🏝
Thank you for this great video, such a stylish presentation!
huhu many thanks=) appreciate the comment ⛵️
Hail Captain. My wife and I made a plan to liveaboard, very informative thank you.
Uhu best decision ever💪🏻🙏 what boat are you choosing?🤞🏼⛵️
Great video!! Very useful. I am still struggling to find out how/where to register the boat. Questions I have:
- Is a boat name change possible?
- Which country to register the boat (I read in Europe it is easy to register in the Netherlands (I am Dutch) and Poland (I live in Poland)?
- When registering a boat, do you need to have a berth in a marina (the whole point for me of living at sea is that you stay majority of the time out of marinas)?
- If you don't have a home address, how do you deal with registrations (bank account, mail, other things which require an address)?
hey :)
yes you can change boatnames (its though a superstition that it brings bad luck)
go for poland if you life there they have great conditions
no you do not need a berth, but a home port which will be given with registration
- we still have a land home address, not sure how it works withhout, maybe you can get a address box?
I don't know anything about sailing and im a nomadic trucker in america. Where can i find people like you that are skilful without money that i can do this???
Hi Jay, we were lucky to find our co owner in our friend circle, quite luckily but would suppose you find a few interested ones in fb groups for sailing, quite some action there☺️ good luck finding🤞🏼 we will let you know if we hear from someone 👍🏻 were are you at?
I’m handicap I do not use a wheelchair. But this is my Dream. Even though I’m handicap every body says I can’t do anything. I learned handicap handicap can rock climb, can jump out of a plain with a parachute, etc. also I learned sailing is great physical therapy. I also love the ocean, marine life, maritime history. I want to live off the grid, etc.
Nobody should ever tell you what you can do or not! Go for it! We wait for you out here in the ocean :)
@@WhenSailing it’s manly my parents because I’m the youngest in the family, and I had the strokes when I was a kid. This will not stop my dream. I still want to sail one day. I like the boat that SV Delos has. I hear it was created by a blind person. I like all the features on the boat. But I have also looked at 30 feet boats online. I like boats with a center cockpits I think those are very safe.
@26Snoopy82 maybe the single handed sailor is also an great inspiration, we adore the man and his adventures instagram.com/thesinglehandedsailor?igshid=1spgumchrrvul
@@WhenSailing yesss indeed!!!
@@FeeltheBreeze I just became a member of your Instagram. I will enjoy looking at your journey. I had two strokes when I was a kid. My right side is very weak. I think with sailing, scuba diving, free diving, or swim with a mono fin. It will help me strengthen my body. In 2020 I wanted to get a girlfriend and go to a lake where you can rent one of those small sailboat. To get started but the virus messed up that plan.
I've saved up 15K$ in a year now, in a few years i will be able to sell everything I own and make my dream come true.
rolf all the best with it💪🏻🙏 what boat are you looking for?
That's my plan, following these steps.... I already have my 393... half of the way...
That’s already the biggest step! We are waiting for you out at sea!
I'd love to move up the food chain to a 393. Looks like great performance and comfort.
was kind of expecting and wanted to know what it costs to afford living on an boat.... how much was the boat.. monthly expeses.. unexpected expenses. insurance expense. What is an "expected" monthly amount people should anticipate?..
Hi Nelson, normally you calculate 10% of the boat price for the yearly costs like maintenance, small upgrades, insurance etc...our boat cost 70k, we will make a detailed vid about the expenses, quite some details to cover there - but also depends a lot on how you live your life, besides the boat maintenance the monthly costs are not much different...you plan on switching to boatlife?
I want to move aboard a sailboat and live full time. My biggest hurdle so far is income, I just don't have the slightest idea at this current moment what I can do as in working while living aboard a sail boat. I would love to hear ideas if there are any people out there with suggestions.
hello :) we do understand your challenges many face them thats why we have created this guide to help you find your income stream

raga vi ho appena trovati e già sono il vostro fan numero uno ahaha grandissimi!
Grandissimo :) ci fa sempre piacere aver compaesani in rotta con noi ⛵️⛵️ benvenuto a bordo di ForTuna ☺️
Excellent job. Thank you
thanks
Thank you guys!
you’re welcome ☺️
Hey! me, my 2 kids and my wife are thinking about moving on a sailboat. How are you handling the corona situation with the tests etc. before you are allowed to go on land? Greetings! :)
Hi Ra, so far we managed very well, did the last test in october, selecting islands carefully and depends a lot on where you plan to go:) (and when, if there is lockdown etc;) but definitely worth it, lot to explore in most places for a long time😜
little question: do you occasionally fish? not so easy in the meds as I've heard as it's been overfished for a long time. whats your experience?
we try to fish everytime we sail, (only eat the fish we catch and no meat while on board) med is more difficult for sure but if you are in the right spots and the right season you catch plenty! we managed to get a 52 kg tuna in turkey a few years back, few mahi mahis and some smaller ones:)
Great helpful video!
glad you like it :)
Very insightful video thank you, fair winds!
Great you liked it :)
Just to correctly understand... do you pay some monthly rent for the boat? What are the monthly living costs for two of you?
No we do not pay any rent, we own 50% of the boat, the other owner uses it 3-5weeks in the year when we fly home:)
I'm thinking to buy a trawler yacht 81 years old any recommendations
Unfortunately we dont have much experience with trawlers but the step alone is worth the search! enjoy it!
Wow you guys are amazing, you've given me so much motivation. It's always been my dream. How much does a boat like yours cost if you don't mind me asking? Also how do you deal with visas for different countries? I'm British and my wife us Thai? Enjoy your life together and thank you for sharing 😊
hi there:) thanks for the feedback! between 60-70k eur depending on the year, but prices currently are a bit higher due to the pandemic 😅 visas is easy for us with italian passport in most places, bit takes some pre planning:)
and if you make your dream come true let us know! wishing you all the best and go for it💪🏻⛵️
Nice introduction
Thanks for watching Robin👍🏻⛵️
Buon proseguimento e buon vento
Fortuna? or Ford Tuna?
Ahahah 😂 For Tuna 🍣 🎣 in italian it also means luck as fortuna😜
@@WhenSailing hehe ok nice!
I'm looking at a 1978 Morgan 382. I was wondering if it's a decent boat. I want something to live-a-board east coast US/gulf yet be able to sail it in the Caribbean/Atlantic crossing. Would appreciate any knowledgeable input. (I'm on a budget) They're asking around $25000 OBO but hoping to get them down. Target 10 to 15,000.
Nice! Looks like a real decent boat - to older the better and more stable built but also the less comfortable for living:) in any case a survey (with measuring hull for osmosis, cracks etc) is one of the most important things even on a budget;)
keep us posted what you decide for and send us some pics eventually:)
I don't feel comfortable sailing I just want to drop anchor live aboard and save money.
also a way to go it, but remember boats tend do break more when you do not use them :)
very brave man to sail with REKUAILAF destroyer of worlds.
hehe thanks whats a rekuailaf?😅
I truly don't understand these videos. I have saved up 50k I work a good job and own a house. A sailboat that cost 32k (tartan 37) would take me down to 18k. I cannot survive traveling repairs and food on 18k and some few hundred by renting my house.
Hi Paul, we took the step with less money at our disposal, were able to take a part time jobs with us and the repairs and works are mainly done by Michael, we need less money for food then on land, also go less to eat out etc and you dont tend to spend so much in stores as we did back on land…we have a more cost details on our discord, a community for patreons or the joined youtube community😉⛵️
👍
really appreciate all the time!
Buon vento!!
Grazie Giancarlo!
e buona pasqua🐰🏝⛵️
We follow you guys on Instagram and am now hooked on your channel! 😎❤️
Uhuu welcome on board then⛵️🥰🤩
I'd like to see people over 60 doing this & if it's possible. Just my 2 cents.
You wouldnt believe how many people of all ages we meet on the sea living on their boat - it is really incredible, from young couples, singles, families to grandparents we met them all until now=)
İ am 72 my boat keeps me alive.
respect! really love the way a boat and the ocean can give you so much strenght! the simplest things 😍🌴🏝⛵️
This couple has been married over 50 years and have been liveaboard for 20 years..

I'd do it, but I can't swim, so...no.
Hi Loretta=) yeaa can understand the swimming part but Michael isnt a good swimmer either=D slowly learning though=)
Never too late to learn to swim. 🏊♀️

@@WhenSailing Haha.... Hola amigo! 👋
So in actual numbers how much money to start this lifestyle? Million dollars? 500k?
Haha nooo, definitely not!! You can start with a lot less. we talk about numbers in our video “how to afford a sailboat” qnd maybe we should do the next live about costs?
@@WhenSailing yes plz... all this looks so expensive...
How to afford a boat:
Get super Lucky knowing a friend who will sell you 50% of their boat 🙄
you have to get creative when means are limited😜
All I see here is spending Daddies money
