      The video quality is second to none. His knowledge and observations are always great.
      The cadence of his delivery is very unusual. THere is a difference between his format and the more popular formats. Does anyone even know what he looks like? There are no face shots that I've seen... maybe that is on purpose who knows.
      It's a really good channel, I watch so much of his content.

    Reason it’s little thicker than AP and Pateks because VC’s is water resistant up to 150m compare to 50m. The author forgot to mention that and to keep its one of the reason I am buying one.

      Yes exactly right. This is a sports watch. I have been collecting watches a long time and thickness is never a factor for me when choosing a sports watch. Dress watch, yes. My personal opinion anyways.

    What an incredibly astute analysis of this timepiece. Many, including myself, would have been overwhelmed by the overall execution that many of these shortfalls would have been missed/overlooked. I hope VC takes notice of this review. IMO, some of those flaws are inexcusable if one expects to be considered one of the Holy Trinity of watchmakers.

  • @romank4132

    Have one exact same model personally. All said is complete true - running weird, date and dial imperfections. But these things are forgiven and forgotten and overkilled by the sharm and overall idea and execution of the watch. The thickness I would disagree 11.2 mm is absolutely not a "chunky" piece. 14 mm is a chunky piece, but not 11.2). And the size feeling depends on the wrist size - on my wrist it sits absolutely perfect, where Rolex GMT seems on the smaller side. Bracelet tapering - it tapers enough giving more wrist presence and balance to the watch itself. We all got used to the Rolex tapering shape, that's why OS feels like needing the have the same, whereas it doesn't have to at all. Bracelet is a piece of art itself, absolutely love it. Case back and rotor - just awesome))
    Thanks for the review, very comprehensive and realistic analysis. Keep it up. Cheers.

    The Overseas 2000V is what it should look like. 39mm, ultrathin and wearable. Unfortunately they only used these dimensions for the exclusive boutique white gold model.

  • @toproll8514
    @toproll8514 3 года назад +6

    Amazing watch. The dial is the most beautiful of all the trinity! Its coast is climbing and joining the sisters...
    Small remark, I find you a little "hard" concerning the proportions, and in particular the thickness, it is less thick than a Submariner for the perspective, which is casually thin for a sportswatch.
    I find it well done, but it's clear that you need a minimum of wrist circumference.
    Regardless, this is the best review available, well shot. Thank you

    I have several overseas, including the blue one, none with flaws. I bought them from authorized dealers and the finish quality is the best that can be found with the Geneva seal. It seems to me that they have got you battered watches, which obviously have taken you away from the reality of these watches.

    • @wheremycoffee

      I agree. I enjoy Hafiz's review but it seems like the watches he owns somehow always have these "defects" that are only present by him. It could be because of his video quality but I doubt.. since there are various RUclipsrs with similar quality of macro shots. Just a little sus if you ask me..

      This watch was also bought from AD a few days before I reviewed it. None of these watches are mine, rather the friends who live around me are kind enough to lend me a watch so I can review.
      It’s a bit sad that when someone is genuinely sharing legitimate issues on quality of watches that are coming from legit watch collectors, the viewers would still choose to blindly follow the brands that are offering the poor quality, and rather doubt a genuine review shared out of nothing but integrity, passion and commitment.
      If my reviews look suss to you, please don’t watch me. I’m not asking or forcing you to watch my videos.

    Finally got the call for mine. It will be arriving this month. I've had the VC 5500V reverse panda chrono for 6 months and it is mind blowing how beautiful it is in any and all lighting conditions vs. my Rolex collection which has that "angle or two" where you get a pop that is like "yeah, man"... the VC is just amazing at all angles. I usually wear polarized sunglasses which takes care of the glare, but no doubt the flat plate of sapphire is indeed reflective. :) Stay cool Hafiz, great shots.

    Excellent video. This is the 2021 dial variant that has the sunburst! The previous video review you did has the older dial variant where the only sunburst is on the minute track. I prefer that dial over this one. I feel the sunburst kind of cheapens the dial a bit.

    In term of straight on wrist shot, this is my favorite of the 3 holy trinity sport watch. Love the bezel and case shape. But agree that it’s a little too thick to compete with the Nautilus and Royal Oak. What about a review of Ultra Thin Overseas that come in white gold? Maybe more direct competition to the 2 in term of case dimension

  • @emersonc2136

    Great production value once again in this video!
    If I may add a comment - a feature that the APRO, PPN & PPA lack is a quick adjust clasp extension that is very well executed and discretely engineered in the VC bracelet clasp. It’s a significant and welcome option in real life wearing - and becomes noticeable outside of a review studio on a hot day or when worn all day on the wrist.
    Keep up the top-notch work Hafiz 👍👍

    Your photography has gone up a notch in 1.5 years since I started watching you. Simply so well executed (better than VC, lol). The side view photography was amazing. Great analysis of course, as well. I’m waiting for a black dial despite the limitations highlighted. I don’t think they will update any time soon given that they sell well and just try and get a RO or Nautilus or aquanaut.....

    • @HafizJMehmood
      @HafizJMehmood  3 года назад +1

      Thanks very much. I’m also waiting for black dial 4500v despite all the limitation 😉
      It’s a lovely piece, just not a perfect watch and there’s no such thing as a perfect watch. And if we stop buying watches in search for an ideal watch, we would have no watch on the wrist.
      Neither RO is perfect nor the Nautilus, and I have both too.

  • @mwojciak
    @mwojciak 3 года назад +1

    Wow, this 4500v looks on your wrist much better than it looked on mine, which is the same size xD But still, just as I remember, it looks much better on rubber than bracelet.
    I was buying it thinking it is perfect. But eventualy came to conclusion that 2gen was better choice, as it is more sporty, something between regular RO and Offshore.
    3 gen is more dressy, it plays in the same category as Royal Oak and Nautilus, and always will be a more attainable alternative, with a little less character.
    So I ended up selling 4500v and buying 2gen dual time with gray dial titanium bezel and couldn't be happier. It offers something different, it's much more sporty and feels more robust in hand.
    PS. My 4500v from 2019 was very inconsistent in therms of accuracy. One day it was +7, the other -13s. My AD told me it is normal. So, yours with -4s is actually a good result ;)

  • @JonWS55
    @JonWS55 3 года назад +2

    Great video ... lovely independent perspective for the VC. Its a beautiful watch ... its robust, classy and a work of art from the back. The rubber strap and deployant dresses it down a little and the bracelet is just pure quality (ok I'm biased I admit it). The lume is relatively weak but stays on long enough for me to fall asleep (as you can guess I'm no diver). Appreciate the reference to the Royal Oak and Nautilus but one looks like a port hole and the other is but a discontinued unicorn ... its all subjective I guess :)

    Truly the best piece of the three steel watches! Review feels biased, but certainly your prerogative! When compared with the AP and The 5711, the dial and overall feel of this watch are unmatched by the other two. I do agree 100% on the date window, but as I'm old and can't see the date anyway, it doesn't bother me. :) nice production value on this video. Cheers!

    Alright my friend, now do a ultimate comparison: AP RO, Patek Nautilus, VC Overseas and maybe GP Laureato and the relatively new Chopard Alpine Eagle. I recently bought one of the latter and it is so amazing, especiall when comparing it to the others and for the price point. Only downsides in my opinion are the "poor" image perception of the brand Chopard as a watchmaker, no microadjustment possibility like the VC has and no golden rotor (which is ok for the price point i guess).

    Great video. As an enthusiast who obsesses about accuracy I have found after owning over 40 luxury watches over 5000 usd, that 4sec per day is actually excellent regardless of price point. So I don't know why you are stating that as a weakness. Maybe you have too high expectations? It's a mechanical movement after all. In general I have found only rolex and for the most part omega calibers to actually perform more accurate than 4 sec (less than 1spd for the most part) over time still when they are run in. All other calibers I know have a tendency to get less accurate when run in, but stay in the limits of cosc or slightly outside (Springdrive excluded obviously). I think that is what one can expect from most mechanical movements, even in 2021😄

    I love the design of this watch! Unfortunately, the prices even for these have really gotten out of hand.
    For the prices the holy trinity asks for their steel models, the quality doesn't look promising.
    I wonder if more traditional watches from Patek and Vacheron (e.g a World Timer or a Patrimony) have better attention to detail.
    That would be very interesting to see if you are looking for video ideas!

      Hi. 22k usd is the sticker price at the boutique. These are sold out and no where available at the boutique. The 50k usd is a secondary price/market price/market value which adds premium on top for you to be able to buy it immediately.
      That being said, I think the market price is not 50k - they’re around 40k usd at the moment.

    These watches are hand made therefore offer an opportunity for human error but at it's price it is not acceptable. I am surprised VC allowed this to pass quality control. Their watches are typically flawless...

  • @closer71
    @closer71 3 года назад +9

    All these “not up to the mark” issues you keep mentioning are just evidence of human beings hand making the watch. I’m not interested in mechanized perfection. You can have it.

    • @erikoleson7328
      @erikoleson7328 3 года назад +1

      I would disagree - a pad printer die for the date disc should be inspected and changed frequently, otherwise a dull plate will leave poor ink releases as is evidenced in this video. That to me is evidence of a human not doing a good job inspecting the equipment they have been trained on (or VC cutting corners and making die plates last longer in exchange for less quality). By also having a dial thatsome sort of defect that appears to be from poor handling of the dial prior to assembly, shows poor craftsmanship and a non-focus on quality. Humans are perhaps the final step in ensuring something is absolutely perfect when these are made, and these two errors are simply just poor QC. That, in my opinion, doesn't make this particular watch exceptional or give me the satisfaction that it was made by human hands. I would see the poor date ink and the scratch on my dial and think, 'this could have been better' and it would eat away at me over time.

    • @closer71
      @closer71 3 года назад

      @@erikoleson7328 If the dial is “scratched” as you put it...send it back. But if the human eye can’t detect the “scratch” then is it even a scratch? I suppose you could hold the company to an impossible, anally contracting standard? That’s certainly your right. And in that sense, yes, the watch is an absolute piece of shit. Not worthy of that price tag OR it’s cost. Thank you for blessing us with your sterile logic. Now piss off back to wherever you come from. In spite of everything you’ve pointed out for us, I’m still a huge fan of the brand.

    That date window looks horrible. I could not stand to own a watch, no matter how beautiful the dial, if the date is not executed well. That is printing is very sloppy. I would prefer to not have a date at all. It's likened to the face of a beautiful woman with bucked teeth. Everytime she smiles at you, all you can see is crooked teeth. For the price VC commands for their watches, I would expect the quality to be better than mass produced brands which seem to have higher standards of QC. I sometimes question how these brands maintain their position in the top 3 'holy trinity'. Perhaps they require a yearly audit from a panel of judges to ensure they are worthy of their position in the top tier brand category. The watch industry needs the equivalent of the Michelin Star accreditation system of the restaurant industry. Some independent body needs to oversee the standards of these brands.
