During the live All That Glitters Day After Party that, Louise takes Andrew by surprise and asks him to demonstrate how Piers managed to solder pearls onto chain links. After a few moments Andrew shows you two ways in which this technique can be done. Although he said he would not do it himself using a clients pearls due to the chance the pearls would discolour due to the heat. Хобби
Andrew your smiths little torch was difficult to light because of a coke build up around the nozzle..... the simplest way to improve this is to ultrasonic the nozzles periodically, or for a quick fix, you can use a very high grade sand paper around the tip of the nozzle to clean off the coke build up. This works a treat.
Hi Bill. In this case it was because I had only just turned on the oxycon and the oxygen pressure hadn’t stabilised
@@Atthebench ahhh ok cool.... i have the same problem thats all.... how long does the stabilisation take?
@@williamhawkes7437 A couple of minutes for the unit to build up the pressure.
I really like your tutorials. I have learned alot. Thank you.
I make bangles with floating pearls. I wrap the pearl in wet towel and hold it over the Pickle pot so only the bangle hits the Pickle. I have blown up a pearl too!
Could you use Argentium to prevent firescale.
Yes you could if you wanted to use silver
Just discovered your videos and loves watching them and your we explanations
Lovely upload. Spontaneous is good if people know to set limits. Thank's L&A!
Very cool. That's what I was figuring I would have to do in order to solder jump rings onto chains of semiprecious gemstones set in those channel thingies whose name I can't think of at the moment but are basically wire wrapping the edge of the stone?
How would water work? In a metal cup or something else? Probably not ideal for pearls, but for other stones?
Weld the wire!
I still want to see how to make a moulted bezel without damaging the stone seen in series 1.
