Those Victorian Haps are very beautiful and very aggressive in my experience. Excellent species spotlight!
I agree. I think my favorite is the species 44.
Good video Jason! I love the color of the Tomato Haps, my second Cichlid choice after the Yellow Labs.
Love your vids Jason I've learnt alot since I subscribed to you
Thank you!
I actually have mine in with a pair of jewels and they get along perfectly fine
I love Victorian cichlids my ruby greens change colors like that they are awsome
Lake Victorians have some great colors!
Thanks for sharing. Not many folks sharing species from Lake Victoria anymore.
I really like the Victorian cichlids! So many cool colors.
They are a beautiful cichlid ty for the vid!
Thank you!
underrated fish
Good video 👍👊😉
Hello friend good afternoon Greatting from new friend here
Kyoga is my favorite!!
Cool fish.
Great Info!
Thank you!
I have a Cichlid tank just walking around a lfs spotted one just had to have its doing great can be a bit pushy but mostly grand with my other Cichlids great video
DECLAN SULLIVAN Ya they definitely hold their own, but such a pretty fish.
great vid as usual :))
Thank you!
i wish my male kenyi would work with MY lake victorians and mbunas i had to remove him to a tank by himself because of how ungreatful he was in my tank. Lost some gorgeous peacocks because of him. since then the colors of these guys are amazing love how well they work with the mbunas.
Hi. Good vid
Love the video, now I have to try find some for sale in the Chicago area.
I'll probably have some ready by the next Greenwater swap. 😃
I Keep the CH44 with my Malawi in my 200 gallon tank . Super cool fish and not so aggressive. But the females are sometimes more into the nonMbunas then in their own species.
Sounds like a cool mix!
Is species 35 like L numbers for plecos? Is it Haps only or all Victorian cichlids?
Beautiful fish!
Catfish Cave Ya, the species numbers are for the currently undescribed species.
I have 4 rusty ciclids and 5 razorbacks and the rusty are growin so much faster then the others
Rusty cichlids are super cool!
11k
I want to try something different with my 75g. Was thinking of attempting the controversial mixing African/South American cichlids. Do you think putting one male tomato hap with geophagus Tapajos and a severum would be ok?
These guys are pretty aggressive - I could see the tomato hap bullying the other fish.
@@PrimeTimeAquatics ok, thank you for the advice!
what are the differences between these fish and the pundamilia? I can't figure out what type of cichlids I bought
Pundamilia have more blue.
Are similar or the same as the Nyererei ? They look identical
They are similar.
I just got a kk beach do you have much on them?? :3
I'm not sure what that is?
@@PrimeTimeAquatics its a haplo from lake victoria as well but it was figured it is its own species and was only found near some specific beach there. Not a huge amount of info on it out there, its a cares fish. I have 6 haplo. kisuule fry also assuming the guy had the name right. Even less out there on those.
Also, do you think you could keep 1 male and three females in a 29 gallon?
I was breeding them in a 37 gallon, which has the same footprint.
Thank you for responding!
Could you keep these guys with peacocks?
I did in my 150 gallon with decent success, but they are usually more aggressive than peacocks and can be a problem in some setups.
Are these imbunas?
Nope - these are from Lake Victoria, but they behave like mbuna.
Will you consider having a giant cichlid, at any point in life
Only if I thought it could be housed properly. I'm kind of limited to 6ft tanks because of my basement stairs. The biggest we have is a 14" Oreochromis.
Lake Victoria is a dangerous lake, infested with Bull Sharks!
