Here are some videos that you might like after watching this one. With these 3 videos, I've almost covered all of the cichlids from Lake Malawi. All that's missing are the Predators!
Anybody interested in a predator video?

That is probably the best explanation for why you need to have a tank the fish will grow into from the start.

    Thanks for the lesson, Professor.
A LFS just happened to get some gold ocellatus in the other day... I grabbed them up QUICK!. They are in quarantine at the moment with 10 rainbows twice their size - and they are bossing them around! Soon to be moved to a 40 breeder (150l) filled with shells. Thanks for helping me try my first East Africans!

Thanks for watching. Good idea grabbing them quick! You never know when they will be able to get some next.
Lamprologus ocellatus are little devils. I've seen them fight with haps (it was an adult placidochromis johnstoni). He would get gobbled up but fight on. I eventually separated him, to give the Hap a break!
They will love your 40 gallon shell dweller paradise :D

Very much enjoyed the video. My favorites are the predators of the tyrannochromis and buccochromis which forced me into a 300 gallon tank

I thought it was weird but makes sense and it is a beautiful fish, I love the blueish silver color!

@@QuebecCichlides you will be... you doing good... i started cichlid inspired by you... well since i am from India where i havent come across any person who are well knowledgeable about cichlid.. i want to setup a 125 gallon tank for peacocks haps and few mbuna.. but need only 1 : 4 ratio on male to female... here they say they cant identify the difference. Hence little skeptical... not giving up as my search for thr right expert is still on. But learning a lot from your videos. Thanks a ton Richelle. You are awesome.

Hi there. They don't breed with live corals in saltwater.... But they breed in a freshwater environment with coral rocks in it to raise the ph.

Technically... But practically, I'd be worried about adding contaminants from the beach users. Its super risky.

Chromis in Greek is the word chroma and it means colour not fish! The fish name is Ichthis or psari.
