Non musicians have no idea, the skill it takes to play drums at his level - and sing too. A drummer already has 4 motor skills going on with hands and feet....Each doing something different. Anderson not only maintains a tight pocket....but throws in killer accents, fills, breaks - while remembering lyrics ??? Nothin but respect to this dude!!!

The Mayor of Oxnard came on stage and presented Anderson with a plaque and referred to him as Andrew by mistake. Then the host kept calling him Andrew. lol
It was so funny cheering him on as Andrew for an extra song it was the best time. Thank you so much as well for helping with the concert!!!

This young man has single-handedly (Free Nationals included) has redefined what being a pure musician is. His arrangements, transitions, starts and stops are the cleanest that I've ever heard. His songwriting range is just crazy. Prince would have loved him. And he ain't trippin' on himself either, gifting this set out here for people to see the whole set, when people are hurting and holding on. Bless you Brother Anderson, you are setting the music world on FIYAH!!!

No shade on Bruno, but Andy can stand alone as a great performer in his own right.
I've been to a Bruno Mars concert and I have watched A LOT of Anderson's concerts. There is no comparision, with all due respect for Bruno, Anderson .Paak's concerts are just pure musicianship and soul - I haven't experienced that watching Bruno Mars at all, it was just a perfectly directed show. But I know, if they do a tour as Silk Sonic it's gonna be amazing, full of real music and real soul.

Great musicians and Anderson is a true musical hero. Energetic, genuine and very talented.
Anderson is so talented. To be able to drum and sing is such a skill.
It is actually tied together better than vocal is with other instruments. It is an easier connection. .. speaking as a singing multi instrumentalist.

Some musicians have a phalanx of costumed dancers around them to make the material seem better than it really is. Kind of like the hip-hop version of canned laughter on a TV show...or maybe just to distract from weak material. Paak lets a couple of kids come on, who clearly have no real practiced or coordinated routine, but are simply there to have a great time dancing, and take turns doing so. A jam session for their feet. He's showcasing the exuberance of young people moved by music. Bless him.

Anderson.Paak and The Free Nationals is one rabbit hole you won't regret running down. They're phenomenal. First time hearing Anderson was on the radio but I didn't know who he was until Silk Sonic. He brought Dance music and Soul back to mainstream radio. I love his music and his new group Silk Sonic

Paak reminds me of Phil Collins in terms of his arrangements and musical sensibility. Both are drummers and amazing songwriters. But Anderson is a charmer and quite the performer.
