Enter. That looks awesome. I have been thinking about trying to make a cutting board but a little nervous about it. Thank you for showing me how you do this one.
Hey Josh, I am glad you found this video helpful. My best advice to you is to just jump into it and don't be afraid to make mistakes. Learning from mistakes is a key part of woodworking. If you're concerned about it being a complete disaster, just use some cheap wood.
I have enrolled you in the giveaway :)
I learned a lot in this video! Great job. I love the cutting board but won’t be entering. It probably won’t look good picking another RUclipsr to give this fine piece to. But blessed is he who wins it. Excellent idea doing a giveaway. 👍👍 happy thanksgiving my friend!

Enter. Love these boards, padauk is so pretty to work with just stains everything! I’ve made a few American flag cutting boards with the wood… side note, did you have any issues with the padauk staining the maple and how did you combat it?
Hey Blake. Thankfully I did not have any issues with the padauk staining the maple.
I have entered you into the giveaway :)

Thank you! I have you registered for the giveaway :)
Enter! Those boards look absolutely incredible! Did you try using any type of grain filler with either board? I've used some padouk in a few projects but always been worried about the open grain of it.
Hey Derek. I did not use any grain filler for this board. I just made a number of trips to the jointer and planer throughout the build.
I have registered you in the giveaway :)
Enter, it looks cool
Much appreciated Kyle. I have registered you in the giveaway :)
Enter Love this board
I appreciate the support. I have entered you into the giveaway :)
If you will put a piece of 1x2 pine in the harbor freight clamps you won’t believe how it improves them. Nice work
Hey thanks for the tip. Do the pine 1x2s help with more even pressure distribution?
@@EigenDesigns it seems like it. It stiffens them so they are stronger and don’t bow or deflect
Enter great work
Thank you! I have you registered for the giveaway :)
Enter looking to do a brick one my self
Thanks William! I have entered you in the giveaway :)
Is that a sanding block you use to apply the mineral spirit?
Hey Tommie, I actually use these cheap foam applicator pads from the automotive industry. They come in large blocks that I cut down into smaller pieces. I have found them to be a cost effective way to apply finish to wood working projects.

How do you think this board would hold up to knife marks over time?
Thank you! I have entered you into the giveaway :)
Enter - Really nice design. I especially like your work flow to complete this. Any issue with bleeding?
Thanks Jack! What specifically do you mean when you say bleeding? With the branding or the finishing?
Also, I have entered you into the giveaway :)
@@EigenDesigns Hi, I was referring to the maple being stained by the padauk.
@@jacklucernoni1565 I was fortunate not to have any staining or bleeding from the padauk. A few people asked about that issue so perhaps I just got lucky.
For the life of me i cant figure out how your tape measure gives you 19” across 5 boards at 1 1/2, 1 board at 1/34, and 5 1/4” boards. Please tell me that measurement was AFTER planing and dimensioning the individual strips? About 2 1/4” lost? Great board.
Enter!!!!!
Hey Julie! I have you registered for the giveaway :)
Beautiful wood. Again what kinda wood?
The red board is made from Padauk and the darker board is made from Wenge.
Look forward to doing this as a couple Christmas presents. Very instructional, appreciate the detail.
