@@lepetitoiseau I almost get a little insulted when Rory said that they are germans? But anyway what I meant with my comment is that if you are not used to this crazy stuff it might make you head explode. But personally I love it, but not a full day
You're right, they are two musicians,Mats Öberg( keyboards) and Morgan Ågren ( drums) who played with Zappa, Captain Beefheart and Tom Waits!!! Very nice moment!!!! Thanks,it was fire!!!
@@martinroland I had read this info but impossible to find any trace of it, maybe I mixed several bands...including the Jimmy Ågren band,it's Denny Walley, who also played with Zappa, Beefheart and Waits...
That was frickin unbelievable! I'd only seen them doing an amazing job on Zappa covers. The keyboards gave me vibes of Byrne and Eno - my life in the Bush of ghosts -... Worth a reaction in it's own right btw... I need more of that
What a flashback, Jimmy on guitar is Morgans younger brother and an old classmate to me who i haven't seen in a long while, such musicians they are, even if Jimmy is more of an AC/DC fan when we went in school =)
They're from my home town, Umeå, Sweden. I've seen most of them in various constellations. For some reason or another, Umeå has produced some pretty awesome musicians over the decades. There were so many bands here when I grew up that you had to plan your weekends to catch at least some of them live. For about ten or twenty years, Umeå was considered a national musical wonderland. Refused and Meshuggah are from here, for example. Cheers 🍺
Over the years they have played a lot of Zappa Covers and you can really hear the influence. But I know that they are quite tired of being connected with Zappa.
The title in Swedish is "en schizofrens dagbok" = "a schizophrenics diary". Isn't it time to check John McLauglin and the Mahavishnu Orchestra - and Gentle Giant!
Absolutely a badarse band. Get all of their albums. You won't be disappointed. Morgan and Mats played with Zappa on invite in 88 live for a track or two. Frank might have even recorded with Morgan if he stayed alive long enough. Bummer!
And they are Swedish!
Thank you Martin!
Great reaction!🔥
Yeah but need to taken'em in small doses
@@martinrolandin any case, it's good to see and hear them here!👍

Saw them live in Paris many years ago...one of the most insane concert of my life

The guitarist has a shirt that is a replica of one Zappa wore on the cover of Lumpy Gravy.

It also sounds like the last version of King Crimson.
or ELP
Meshuggah!!
Sol Niger Within next 😊
also... nobody has told you ,and you might not have noticed... but...The keyboard player that is standing up (Mats Oberg)...is blind.
Yeah blind since birth. But as Stevie Wonder said (which Mats adores) "Just because your are blind doesen't mean that you lack vision"
