    It's stuff like this that shows the true disconnect so many wrestlers had or have. He's talking about his friends drugging a pissing on a fellow coworker and potentially someone they were travelling with, and he's doing it laughing and or smiling throughout. (Yes this is a common thing, especially in the 70s and 80s so this isn't the first recount we've had of similar stories.) What they find entertaining and would do to one another nowadays would be criminal acts.
    Between this, continual pedophilia stories/rumors, rape, sexual assaults, molestation, drugging with things other than Halcyon, etc it really does show how dark the Wrestling business is behind the scenes. With these episodes being so common and the feeling is like that of a fraternity it makes sense that so many of the boys were cool with and or tolerated/accepted this type of shit. I know for some they had no choice but to accept it, or potentially be fired or blackballed from the business entirely. Not saying this is everything, only stating it's kind of surprising how common all of this stuff was.
    Definitely kind of sad to hear an answer to, "Last Man Standing at the Bar" being based on the person will drug the rest into submission as opposed to actually outdrinking them.

      @justint8635 2 года назад +8

      There’s this understanding (that pro wrestlers had this jock-fraternity-brotherhood thing) that ought to be universal knowledge now and, still, people want to view this with the entirely wrong context - this vaguely overly moralistic rose-colored glasses and it makes absolutely zero sense

    • @SmaugUKA
      @SmaugUKA 2 года назад

      @@justint8635 Yeah, it was pretty much whatever happens involving the boys (no matter what), it stays between the boys. This is another form of hazing, and we've seen throughout history where hazing if done right can be extremely positive and team/family building. We've also seen how it can completely kill people, (either through being mentally/physically strained or distraught, or truly killed) screwing them up for life.
      Yes a lot of this stuff has been known for years/decades, and it's not like the majority of this is new information to me. My original Comment is more about how prevalent and accepted it was, no matter what happened. Usually it was praised and or found humorous by the people within the Wrestling business. What's more, like I previously stated earlier is that far too often the person/people that would come forward or speak up about the situation(s) would be the one getting punished instead of the true guilty party.
      None of what I'm saying is being overly moralistic or being looked at through rose-colored glasses. It's called being professional no matter where, being respectful to your fellow coworker, and just being a halfway decent human being period. Drugging "friends" without their permission, pissing on them, putting things up their butt/in their mouth, shitting in food, drugging women, etc...none of that is accepted behavior. None of that is legal behavior either.
