    Faiivae didn't say he had a Fentanyl overdose. His partner just assumed he did because Faiivae just happened to be testing a white powder that might have been fentanyl at the same time his fainting disorder kicked in. It was a coincidence but the minute the partner got out the Naloxone everyone else assumed it was the Fentanyl as well. Sounds like you're blaming Faiivae for a misunderstanding that was absolutely not his fault.

      I was about to chip in that fentanyl doesn't do that - it's not magic. It's an unfortunate coincidence that will unfortunately be used to terrify law enforcement by misinforming them about this drug. And I truly believe that an officer that has fainting spells should absolutely not be on patrol. There are plenty of other ways to serve without risking your safety.

    Faivei's faint looks exactly like a coworker's seizure i have witnessed a few times. If he has those on a regular basis, i hope he finds medical help. It's too bad that it happened right as he was testing drugs, so his partner mistakenly thought it was an overdose. Totally understandable why he would think that, if he didn't know about the seizures.

    The officer likely had a sudden, mild grand mal seizure that could have been triggered but not directly caused by the fentanyl. As a sufferer of both grand mal and petit mal seizures (meds have them under control) I know that you can feel fine and in three seconds "wham." With both types of seizures, you usually feel a warning sign (sort of a tingle in the brain and behind the eyes) which can give you the slightest moment to react, but you have to be paying attention. He was focused on the job.

      @notsorrymomo: well, I won’t threaten you; I agree! I am up over my head with anger at our Justice system. Some heinous person commits a murder and sentenced to life in prison and everyone thinks good solved the problem. (He will be locked up and everyone is safe again) Pipe dream. Many guys (or gals) who have a life sentence (and this goes for life without parole in USA) are released in much less than 20 years. Some in 10 to 15). The murderer should get the death penalty) They may never get executed. California has had people on death row for decades. ( example: Randy Kraft, a serial killer with many victims, has been on death row for 34 years. He’s approaching his 80s now.) So one thing sure about the death row. (The person may never get executed; may die of old age first.) but no one gets paroled from death row.

    in the 3rd video on the deputy trainee OD, it doesnt matter if the faint was due to the OD or not, folks can’t be saying that it’s fear mongering. is it ok to have misinformation up on media, obv no, but fentanyl is still really deadly so this video warns first responders to deal with it carefully, not the opposite. it’s ridiculous how ppl come up with outright obnoxious statements like that

    If cops are going to test powder out in the open air, shouldn't they be wearing some sort of facial protection? I mean, the wind whips up that powder into the air you breathe. One would think you shouldn't even test it out in the field, or test it in a place where there is no wind to disturb the powder. It was in the back of the vehicle yes, but wind, even a slight breeze can stir it.

      It was fake. Fent doesn't just kill you from being near it or the dude that owned the bag would've just died.

    • @Astrussy
      @Astrussy 9 месяцев назад

      @@metaempiricistOP is saying maybe a cloud of it was puffed into the air by the wind or by the nature of it being in a bag. If you ever ever accidentally squeezed a bag of flour or cake mix, you know this can happen. If you inhale when that happens, you’re essentially snorting the fentanyl, flour, whatever it happens to be.

    Why do cops hate PPE? Are they ignoring protocol, or is it even worse in that they have no protocol at all? He never had a face mask on and he didn't even have gloves on when he went down. It's more likely that you're going to inhale it than 'absorb it through your skin' anyway, especially if you keep wiping your nose and mouth with or without your gloves on. Even the guys that pack the drugs know better than this, because if they didn't, they'd be dead. It didn't look like an OD to me, but that doesn't mean they weren't being stupid.
