      Hear that? It's the sound of VEAO shitting themselves!

    • @bowser515
      @bowser515 7 лет назад +38

      Do we have to continue the VEAO hate? They struggled with their first module, which really is quite decent still and they have been open and honest about it. They have recently announced that they have learned from their mistakes and will be redoing much of the Hawk to raise it to a much higher standard... For free! Like the Hawk or not, bellitling third party devs is not very constructive for the community. This Viggen looks amazing, helping VEAO to do the same to their Hawk by offering constructive feedback rather than sarky comments on unrelated videos would probably be a better use of your time?

    • @spitfirefrench
      @spitfirefrench 7 лет назад +2

      They are shit tho

    • @bowser515
      @bowser515 7 лет назад +2

      Do you own the Hawk? It isn't nearly as bad as the pitch fork bearers would have you believe. Could it be better? Yes, as even VEAO have said themselves and are working towards that end. If they disputed complaints and didn't carry on supporting it I'd understand but they are doing the complete opposite, at least give them a chance. I don't like the FW-190 module, doesn't make it a bad product at all. I enjoy the Hawk as is and I look forward to seeing how they improve it, constantly putting them down is not helpful is all....

    • @NeonMako
      @NeonMako 7 лет назад +3

      Yes, I do. Lets not take this somewhere it wasn't intended to detract from the Viggen. It was a light jab a VEAO, nothing more.

      Erik Engelbert: Awesome that you'll want to assist them ^^
      Love this plane, the sound it makes during takeoff using full afterburners sent shivers down my spine (last heard that IRL during a "Flygets Dag" (Day of Aviation) at F21 Luleå Airforce Base many years ago (probably 25-30 years ago now).
      If I had the patience and time (and money for some proper controllers for flight simulators) I'd definitely get this, but that's unfortunately not on the horizon for now..
      Too bad there aren't any working flight-worthy ones of the AJ/SK/SH/SF/JA-37 around here anymore (wasn't any around the last "Flygets Dag" a few years ago I was on at least) :(

    As a former Asst Shop Chief for the radar calibration docks that maintained F-4's in the USAF, I find the Viggen to be a "single seat joy"!! I am in the cockpit again, although not upside down removing rear-seater 'scopes this time. The systems are a natural progression from the cockpit of an F-4 to a single seat attack aircraft. The "HUD" is not that much different from the 'aps' in the F-4. Lastly, the F-4 versions were the F-4e/f/and WW 'g''s from the 35th TFWg, When at George AFB, CA, USA.

    So nice to see a such renown and well known aircraft yet so underrepresented in flight sims.Strange that the Flygvapnet which was once the third most powerful air force in the world is so underrepresented.The terrain radar is just M A R V E L O U S and i think that i will have to take quick Swedish lessons to operate this bird! I hope that we will have many occasions to test the Viggen's famous STOL capabilities - imagine taking off from a highway strip not much wider than your wingspan and skim over the treetops to sink some Soviet warships coming to invade. Godspeed Leatherneck and good luck on the job!

    Amazing... without having flewn this simulator (although having experience with the real stuff), I have to say that the cockpit behaves and looks almost totally accurate, even down to the tear and wear and paint chips at the right places! Wow! :-) The 80's low level splinter camo does not look quite correct to me though.

    • @DaFlyingStrawberry
      @DaFlyingStrawberry 7 лет назад

      Thomas Kolb there were slight deviations from plane to plane. The fighter viggens with splinter camos had different designs, for example. Looks accurate to me.

    • @thomaskolb8785
      @thomaskolb8785 7 лет назад

      You may be right, but to my best knowledge, the green low-level camouflage was applied in the factory in a strict, pre-defined pattern, identical for every aircraft individual. The very same pattern was used for all versions (AJ, SK, SF, SH, AJS, and the few JA that did not wear the high-altitude scheme of various greys). If you have other information, I will happily stand corrected!

    • @Foxhound617
      @Foxhound617 7 лет назад +3

      Rlaxox tbh the internal sounds are meh, it shouldn't have the crackle like being behind the afterburner just the roar of the intakes, watch an actual in cockpit take off of an aircraft such as F-16 or typhoon. Also the repeating noise would get very annoying if on afterburner for long lengths of time. But still looks better than any other module.

    • @Rlaxox

    So, no INS alignment required or am I missing something ?

    • @JonisKanonis
      @JonisKanonis 7 лет назад +1

      It doesn't use a classic INS of that era. I relies on gyros for orientation, air data for speed and computes movement from starting position using that.
      This basically requires the attitude indicator to be erected and start position to be entered, then you're ready!

    • @cmdrteldja62
      @cmdrteldja62 7 лет назад

    • @juk-hw5lv
      @juk-hw5lv 7 лет назад +1

      CMDR Teldja So it uses airspeed instead of GS for the navigation compurt input? Quite strange but we have something like this on our Su-22 (pretty much Warsaw Pact's equivalent of Viggen) so it must work

    • @JonisKanonis
      @JonisKanonis 7 лет назад

      juk123 45 Pretty much but with doppler radar as wind correction to get a more accurate GS. It still drifted more than inertia based systems though.
      It also used a terrain database and compared the underlying terrain using the radio altimeter, this system made automatic position updates to the navigation system.
      The pilot could also make visual or radar based updates to fix the navigation error.

      They never fixed the sounds in mig. Recently, we're having issue with start sound staying ON in a mid air relight. Pretty annoying.

    So is Sweden going to be a faction now in DCS?

    • @Iskall91
      @Iskall91 7 лет назад +4

      Leon Erlandsson Sweden already is a faction since way back. They just haven't had any Swedish aircraft assigned to them, just the standard FC3 and a few others.

    • @joelbns
      @joelbns 7 лет назад

      ***** Hmm, didn't know that. Since you couldn't select Sweden as a faction in the mission generator I just assumed they just weren't there.

    • @Iskall91
      @Iskall91 7 лет назад +1

      You can see them in the mission editor when you click "new". They aren't in any faction by default, so it's up to you to put them where you want them.

    Master-craft, but oh lord that flight computer is awful. It seems so convoluted and that may be the reason I don't get this. Hopefully it's more intuitive than we've seen so far.

    just 1 Huge problem: Cockpit. Can we hope for an English cockpit this time around or we should wait for ppl to do what should be in the game from the start. It is so stupid and breaks immersion so much the need to remember picture of wards that has 0 meaning for you. You are not managing systems anymore, you are repeating some actions like a monkey, and if you are a smart monkey and manage to reproduce the exact same actions the rocket will fire. I really can't believe that a studio will put so much energy in creating a great product just to put off players with labels. Just imagine Tesla selling cars and German UI only. And no I do not hate you, in fact that is why I am so upset because your products are so good, but we need such a small thing as a english cockpit to enjoy it and you will not do it.

      The MiG-21 has had a Russian and English cockpit available since it released in September 2014. I'm not sure what you are refering to?

    • @MititeluRadu
      @MititeluRadu 7 лет назад

      I was talking exactly about Mig-21. Yes hints are there if you want to have that in English, but for cockpit I didn't manage to locate that option, so I use a user made mod. The fact that EN mods are updated for Mig 21 means other players have problems locating it. (I don't say there is none, since you clearly know way more then me, I just say we missed it).

    • @gtaxmods
      @gtaxmods 7 лет назад +5

      "hints are there"...? It's in the same spot in the options menu as all of the other cockpit customization options. You know, the menu where you go to select your usermade cockpit you keep talking about?

    • @MititeluRadu
      @MititeluRadu 7 лет назад

      you need to go and change Hint_localizer file to have hints in English, but I didn't manage to find any English cockpit. I guess we need to ask Cnuggat where is it since he is so much smarter then me.
