This is literally the most appropriate song to sing and dance to right now during this COVID-19 pandemic with social distancing. PLEASE DON'T TOUCH ME is back!!!!
Saw this live. MEGAN MULLALAY WAS HILARIOUS IN THIS ROLE ON STAGE. FUN FACT: Originally Kristin Chenoweth was supposed to play the role of "Elizabeth". She previously played it in the early readings and workshops. However, she dropped from the production due to work on Pushing Daisies.
You had to throw some Karen Walker moments in there somewhere......!! I was in awe when she walked on stage when I saw this show!!!! She was soooo good!!!
ahahahahaha FINALLY SOMEONE UNDERSTANDS! i no my sister always thinks its dirty!! im trying to get my mom to c the butter comercial so she sees her sing :)
yea i thought this was the most sexually awkward song performed on stage but that drastically changed when i heard Touch-A, Touch-A, Touch Me from the rocky horror film :)
i no just how you feel lolol i always belt out this song when im in myroom and my sister thinks i listen to dirty musci! my mom doesnt think she can sing !
All I see when I listen to this is Tammy II from Parks and Recreation! 😂 Quite the ironic song for Tammy anyway, considering her track record... Sex Fiend!
Yeah, Madeline Kahn pretty much always played the skittish, slightly oblivious type...well, except in Blazing Saddles. She was just too tired, I suppose. :P
Great show! Great song! Great actor (actress?). Maybe I’m overthinking it, but…. She sings ‘as every guy knows….’ So she’s been around. So why can’t he touch her? Waiting for the first time w him till after marriage to make it seem special to her? To him? Or just a great song and a good way to work certain words into the show?!
Young Frankenstein written and directed by Mel Brooks the same guy who wrote the musical The Producers. It's about after Doctor Frankenstein died, and his grandson inherits his house, but he doesn't want to be part of the family. Very funny you should see it.
Angel Ateca Dr. Frankenstein is gonna marry Elizabeth but he has to go on a trip to recieve his inheritance because his grandfather died and he wants to bone her but she doesn’t want to she wants to wait until they’re married
The moment you ask a random person on YT to justify their opinion. Why exactly? This is my favorite number and easily one of the highlights each time I saw this live with Megan. The show’s mediocre run had more to do with the economy and general zeitgeist of the time more than anything.

I can’t believe she didn’t even get a Tony nom for this, robbery lol
💖

So Dianne Pilkington wasn’t the only Glinda that was going to play Elizabeth?
Megan never disappoints.
Talk about the relevance of this song in 2020
Ahahaha! Megan Mullally is the best - she's SO hilarious! And a FANTASTIC singer! I would have loved to have gotten to see her in this. =)
Megan is absolutely great.
I like to sing this when my friends are sick.
You had to throw some Karen Walker moments in there somewhere......!! I was in awe when she walked on stage when I saw this show!!!! She was soooo good!!!
Megan Mullally is such a fabulous hbic. There are no words to describe how amazing she is.
This is how I imagine it's going with a lot of couples in 2020
😂 RIGHT!!
A great singer and comedienne!
Love love love Megan Mullally!
This is the moment you realize how raunchy this production is going to be.
ikr you really can't tell how sexual it is by the first few numbers haha
God I love Megan
The great really thing about this song is I can still hear Madeline Kahn singing it.

you took the words right out of my mouth hahaha! i was just about to comment the same thing!!
Elisabeth practicing that good social distancing since 1920 XD
SHE'S SO CUTE
Please don't touch me. Physical affection is painful for me. Those who can't respect that have no place in my life.
She's one Divine Diva...Meow baby!
hahahahaha, what a perfect song to sing to them at that time!
Lol my lesbian biology teacher was listening to this in class... I needed to find it lmfao

youngandforever this is just weird all around
One of them for sure yes, but I still give the edge to I'm Tired in Blazing Saddles.
just AMAZING
And only Mel Books can get away with producing this kinda comedy!
i think i see a glimpse of karen in that hahaha, love it!
is there a dvd available of this show? i'd die to see it, but can't go to the real show :(
grande diva
Why the hell didn't this come to the west end.......
harveydent73 it's there now
All I see when I listen to this is Tammy II from Parks and Recreation! 😂 Quite the ironic song for Tammy anyway, considering her track record... Sex Fiend!
@KillerKitten334 lol when I first heard I was like did she say what i think she said?!
They are both amazing, but you are totally right. Nobody could touch Madeline Kahn.
leftiesrox Megan is playing it differently than Madeline Kahn, like Elizabeth is more of a snob in the musical than in the movie.
Yeah, Madeline Kahn pretty much always played the skittish, slightly oblivious type...well, except in Blazing Saddles. She was just too tired, I suppose. :P
She's pooped.
who here would love to have had Kristin Chenoweth play this role who was supposed to so it? I would love to have heard these two side by side
@daris89 I've heard it was her favorite part of the show!!
i really can't sop watching this
At 2:46 did Frederick accidentally grab Elizabeth's hand?? Haha
Great show! Great song! Great actor (actress?).
Maybe I’m overthinking it, but….

What show is this from?
Young Frankenstein :)
Deena Metzler Thx!
Young Frankenstein written and directed by Mel Brooks the same guy who wrote the musical The Producers. It's about after Doctor Frankenstein died, and his grandson inherits his house, but he doesn't want to be part of the family. Very funny you should see it.
To clarify Mel Brooks directed the movie not the musical
+MadonnaImperia The Wizard of Oz
this is one of mel brooks' dirtiest songs.
No, it is not. Hahaha
I keep thinking this role was almost Kristin Chenoweth's and how she would have done it. it's so weird.
vegishishkabab She was going to do it like Madeline, like where Elizabeth isn't suppose to be a snob.
@MeowBitchDubs No, she wasn't supposed to get on it.
Elizabeth is such a prude to Fredrick Frankenstein.
It’s pronounced “Froderick.”
I need some context. Please.
Angel Ateca Dr. Frankenstein is gonna marry Elizabeth but he has to go on a trip to recieve his inheritance because his grandfather died and he wants to bone her but she doesn’t want to she wants to wait until they’re married
lol
hahhahahahahhaha
They put a lot of makeup on her, but she did good
She is belting E flats like it's nothing. No wonder hi schoolers can't sing this song.
The moment when you realize exactly why the show had a short run
The moment you ask a random person on YT to justify their opinion. Why exactly? This is my favorite number and easily one of the highlights each time I saw this live with Megan. The show’s mediocre run had more to do with the economy and general zeitgeist of the time more than anything.
