I am about to purchase a Honda atv for the first time. Can't decide between 420FA or 520FE. I had a Cforce 625 Touring before, and may say, that Honda's last forever
Totally new to these and a silly question. Could you ride in automatic mode with flip flops on (no shifting) ? Would be using in lake neighborhood and not extreme off road. Thanks.
People are still letting off the gas to shift a duct tranny!😝 do they not know how that dct’s are automatic transmissions with a manual mode, not the other way around?

We've never tested Cforce machines. Go with Honda.
I had mine 78 behind a f150 tied the bumper
2 blown plugs in the 150 ! ??
My DCT does 49 in either mode. I'd s a y a safe cruise is around 35 tops for extended cruising
I have hit 63mph on my 15 rancher 420 IRS DCT

You could comfortable ride in flops, this model does not have a foot shift lever, everything is on the handle bars.
@@atvdirt1 thanks.
Are you able to manually put it in 2nd gear from a dead stop?
no
Do not do that
I kept doing that and the clutch gets worn out really bad and you'll be buying a new clutch all the time
I've gotten 56 as my top on the 2011 420
I have hit 62 or 63mph on my 15 rancher 420 IRS Dct
@@leeallenbeal those dcts are handy, I sometimes wish I had one. Mine is a electronic button shifting so still very manual
@@Rob-gf2cs love mine u need get one thumb shift works good one thing I dont like auto mode
How change to automatic?
The DCT model in the video has handlebar selectability between fully auto or manual.
You also need the EPS rancher not just the plain old foot shift one
@@jamiechalifoux4090 I have esp on my 2015 Honda Rancher with out foot shift
@@atvdirt1 love Dct mode
@@jamiechalifoux4090 I miss footshift so much
I have hit 54mph on my 2009 Rancher 420 IRS
I have hit 63mph on my 15 rancher 4020 IRS
I’m new to this stuff and I’m just about get one soon, so you need like a license or a registration/plates for it or no?
Awesome! At least not in Ky, although if you plan on trail riding... sometimes you're required to pay for a permit to ride.
Mine goes 52
Mine goes 63
And with a base model that’s been rolled once it goes 60
Nice, seems to be a lot of variations on top speed. It's possible the DCT has a lower gear ratio... Thanks for the comment!
