I have a 2021 honda rubicon and I bought it because it has gears and that’s what I prefer over a belt drive but everything else on that machine has room for improvement. It needs more power better suspension stronger power steering more storage thats water proof. Better headlights. I knew all these things before I bought it but no other manufacturer sells atvs with gears and even with the needed improvements i still have no regrets buying it.
You hit the nail on the head bud, definitely can't argue against any of those points as Honda needs to step it up in all of those areas IF they want to continue selling these for the premium price tag that's on them. Great machines at the end of the day but they just need that little bump here and there to really bring them to the next level in my opinion.
I have a 2016 Rancher that I bought new that yr. while I did look at most reputable makes, When I decided on the Rancher, I just realized in looking at U tube that I did in fact buy the top end model right down to power steering and in a limited edition color I call arctic white which really pops with all the standard black that comes on them. My buddies like the camo, but I hate telling them that Deer are color blind and I don’t have anyone accidentally shooting at me in the woods at the right time of yr. lol
I just purchased a 2022 rancher in camo with Manuel transmission 4x4 only thing I don't like it doesn't have optional pull start only using it for hunting
Oh yeah, you gotta love the tan! It's definitely a welcomed change when 99% of the time you only have red or olive to choose from! I really hope Honda starts playing around with more color options soon...
HondaPro Kevin yes it does I love thumb shift its same as foot shift mine hits 62 - 63 it is fun in mud never got stuck maybe one day im getting foot shift I miss my Timberwolf 250 im letting my nephew and neice have my Polaris 2006 500
If I'm being honest... It's because the people doing their website aren't people that know the product. I've complained about this for years but still, a ton of misinformation on there that does nothing but confuse people at the end of the day.
Great info . We had a 4204x4es in a rancho in México and it got abused by everybody for Years. Only thing ever went bad was the electric shift would get stuck in Gear. But as soon as you turn it off and back on it would work again. Keep un mind it wasnt the dct versión thats more bulletproof . Anyways very impress with Honda. Yes more power would be great but something about how rugged it is very satisfyng. Then it got abandoned for like 4 years and with a jumper started up first try like I had just turned it off. Amazing. I'm looking into a grizzly 700 check those out if you want a faster more powerfull trail bike only second to the honda in reliability. Yamaha's cvt are super reliable.
Awesome video! I have been debating which machine to get. You sold me! I’d like to buy the same exact machine with the tires, wheels, etc. you guys did an awesome job. Let me know who to reach out to to start the process. Thanks!
Thanks Paul, I really appreciate the kind words! Check with the guys over at www.SouthernHonda.com and tell them I sent you over and reference the video so they know exactly how you want it setup etc and they'll take care of you ;)
Got my freinds brand new ‘24 rancher in my back garage ( he’s making room for it )..it’s a DCT-EPS-IRS- Camo model…it costed him w/extended warranty 11,400 in Hawaii …scary huh ? 😳
lol I completely forgot to mention the front bumper, no idea how it slipped by but apparently I was half-asleep the day I did this video. Here it is: ebay.us/qF2C5u
Lol yeah buddy! Some don't care for stuff like that but it helps make the many hours in editing no so tedious if I try to crack myself up and in return hopefully someone else gets a kick out of it from time to time.

Sounds like you just need something bigger lol
I thought Hondas autos were gears not belts. Auto tranny like a car

420 foot shift irs would be a seller for
Sure
I agree! It's a shame they only have the one version of the Rubicon nowadays where you can get a foot-shift with IRS.
My 2003 rancher is wore out ,I want one but that exhaust note is alot louder,I like to put thru the woods quietly....
That's my exact recon but with the ES. That tan is such a cool color vs olive and red.
Oh yeah, you gotta love the tan! It's definitely a welcomed change when 99% of the time you only have red or olive to choose from! I really hope Honda starts playing around with more color options soon...
Very thorough review! Nice job!!
Thanks bud, these take quite a bit of time to put together so I really appreciate the kind words ;)
My dad bought me 2015 Honda Rancher 420 4x4 early Christmas present I love it
Heck yeah, that's an awesome Christmas gift!
@@HondaProKevin thanks I wish it had power steering
No problem bud. Power steering is nice but maaaan oh man does it spoil you quick lol!

I'll ditch the IRS and get the EPS. Have a can am max xt 570. Been great but want to downsize if we ever get back to normal.
Why does Hondas website say the 2022 irs dct 420 rancher has electric 4x4 and diff lock and a low gear?
If I'm being honest... It's because the people doing their website aren't people that know the product. I've complained about this for years but still, a ton of misinformation on there that does nothing but confuse people at the end of the day.
@@HondaProKevin so the new 420 doesn’t have low?
No sir, no 420 has ever had a low range.

Sounds like the idle may have been a bit high. They all tend to do that.
Great looking atv . What size tyres and wheels are they please on front and rear . Do you run the same width wheel on front as rear ????
Tire / wheel sizes are all in the description and yes sir, same wheel sizes front and rear with this setup ;)
Rancher needs to add the 3rd headlight like the foreman.

Why there is no turn light on ATV?
I love them! I just sold my foreman 450 to get one
Heck yeah, that's quite the upgrade from the old-school but bulletproof Foreman 450! You'll be spoiled in no time lol!
@@HondaProKevin my foreman blew the engine. But was a nice machine

So is it not possible to get a rancher 4x4 with es and eps solid axle without getting the dual clutch transmission?
Correct. They used to make that model, it was called the TRX420FE2 but it's no longer offered.
What about the foreman bumper it’s not stock we’re do I get it?
lol I completely forgot to mention the front bumper, no idea how it slipped by but apparently I was half-asleep the day I did this video. Here it is: ebay.us/qF2C5u
Great video
Did the rims and tires comes as a package and mounted?
Every dealer does things differently but these were already installed on the unit as a "package".
Has there been any news on a big bore honda atv?
Nothing concrete I'm comfortable speaking on just yet but maaaaan oh man, we needed a Rincon 1000 DCT with the Pioneer 1000's engine 5+ years ago lol!
Excellent
Wow you seriously pulled out Emeril Lagasse
Lol yeah buddy! Some don't care for stuff like that but it helps make the many hours in editing no so tedious if I try to crack myself up and in return hopefully someone else gets a kick out of it from time to time.
love it
No belts is why I went Honda...it always starts , easy on fuel
Them rims 🤮
