I ride in upstate NY and have a 2014 Rancher with power steering, independent rear suspension and automatic transmission. This set up is great in the woods and plenty of power to get me through all conditions. i have about 30 lbs of gear and my 240 lbs, and can get 53 miles per hr on a road for top speed. The quad is super reliable and super fun to ride.
Thank for the input. Just looking for something that can get me in and out of the bush faster than I can walk and strong enough to carry all of my gear for me. Sounds like this is just what I need.
I have the 2019 exact model new in red. I love it and not really anything i'd change. Everything he said is spot on about it. I haven't tried the ESP ( power steering ) and i'm sure it's nice to have but honestly its really not bad at all without it. Really a great ATV.
Really great video I love in Orlando Lakeland is not far from me! I have a question? So you strongly believe that specific rancher can hold a rear seat and put an extra person behind
Nice video 👍 How many mpg are you averaging on a tank of fuel ? I really like the nimble compact character of this machine, although , I’m looking into the Foreman due to a few features that I personally feel are necessary for my environment and riding conditions. 1. Locking differential 2. I like the headlight mounted on the bars , I have been told it’s higher position really lights up the road ahead of you 3. 12V power outlet for running accessories etc 4. Storage compartments in the fender ( it’s not very big , but it’s something) 5. Traditional tire sizes of 12/8*26 by 12/10*26 I don’t know why Honda makes the Rancher with an oddball 11” wheel 6. Better front and rear capacities on the racks and better front bumper coverage ( it actually extends to protect the whole front end where as the Rancher is shorter exposing the corners of the front fenders ) 7. A more aggressive tread pattern on the tires . 8. The 518cc engine ( I’m told it’s only like 2 more HP than the 420 but I think A LOT more torque) which will contribute greatly in hill climbing and muddy terrain. And I’m not sure how much more fuel consumption it will be , and if it’s worth the trade off. All in all , I think that Rancher is a great buy , just falls short of of my needs as mentioned above.
So a rancher needs its first service at 100 miles? I just got mine and put 63 miles on it in a couple days. And is that true that Honda oil is needed not to void the fact warranty?
This looks like Ocala National Forrest. Am I far off? Also we have a '98 version of this and love it, and we're looking for a second new one for my wife. But she wants power steering, and I'm not sure it's needed enough to justify.... wonder if it makes a big difference (just riding around the ranch with trails and some easy hills)
Jeez, the pricing here in Ireland is shocking..€9,500, €9,200 is the best offer..Have the previous model which I bought new in 2010 for €5750, never gave me any bother, great bike
Wow 615lbs?! With that weight you almost don't need the EPS. In my opinion just something else to break eventually. I'm coming from a 1998 Kawasaki Prairie 400 with a carburetor so the Rancher would be an upgrade for sure.
I have a trx200sx it weighs a little over half I can grab a grab handle and spin it around but I need a bigger one for hunting and I weigh about 100 pounds less than the four wheeler 😂
Welcome to Honda … as I like Kawasaki, Honda is just way more reliable…20 years with light maintenance..Nothing compares with reliable long lasting Honda.EPS has been around its not new.
I been mud bogging atvs since highlifter came out with outlaw 29.5s since like 2005 ish , every Honda that wasn’t super modded with gear reductions and big bore kits etc couldn’t turn 27s and sometimes 26s in the peanut butter ,, they are a super dependable bike but don’t expect any raw balls power when u give it gas just sayin!
I have DTC on the CTX it makes riding simple, shifts gears faster than you want cant really wind it out unless in manual mode. I have the foot shift on my 08 rancher never had a problem.
Hey, great video. I rode Honda atv’s years ago. I admit I am way out of the game. I am looking for a 4x4 Honda atv for my dad. He’s older. I would like to get a plow for the snow. I am not looking for a complicated machine. Any suggestions for a model. He would use it for snow and light hauling or dragging stuff around his yard. Any advice would be appreciated
I just purchased one today 2024 Black Forest Green ES 4x4

The Independent rear Suspension-is a must if you gonna trail ride.
Honda is hard to beat in the long run, I don't think you could go wrong with one...
I’m getting this exact four wheeler! My brother has the same one as well but this video was very helpful!
Great video. Actually best one I've seen yet including dealer ads. I'm going to contact your buddies you recommend about buying one...I'm in New York

absolutely its simple and tough i have a 2018 do this day still runs perfect
I'm sold! Thank you for the ride!
Honda offers a 12v outlet that you can add, I did to my 19. The harness is part number 08Z01-HR3-A20, the socket is 08U70-HR3-A20.
These things are so good, they’re impossible to find in the used market.
Please remove that lanyard from the key. You'll regret when it wraps around the throttle during a trail ride. #experience
I'm still running my 2012 Honda rancher 420 4x4 foot shift and power steering
I can’t wait I’m getting one in two years can’t wait
Me too
You’ll absolutely love it

My dad bought me 2015 Honda Rancher 4x4 love it I'll never go back to Polaris again
Give me a choice between 1 Honda or 10 Polaris, I'll take the 1 Honda all day everyday!
I'am Your Newest Subscriber. My 2007 TRX400FGA Is Fine For Now I Cant Afford A New One. I Put 4000 Miles On Mine
Awesome and informative video thanks
Where can I buy one?
Does it have a backup pull cord start?
planning to get 2021 model for next couple weeks, never heard the horn on this video. do it comes? first timer here.
Is there a difference between the rancher and fourtrax
I believe that's what Honda calls all of their utility atv's. Everything from the Recon to the Rincon is labeled as "Fourtrax" on their website.
Love mine 🤙
I love mine two

I bought the 12 volt socket from Honda for my bike. Best 50 dollars I've spent on it aside from a winch lol

Is the rear shock adjustable?
Thank you .

Once you ride one with electric power steering, you’ll never go back to not having it!
HeVy for a small cc bike! Lacks power! You can hear it straining when u get outta 3rd
Thats a 420cc dude
And it could be that he was shifting from a low speed
Brayson Molina i know what it is lol

Damn that is true
Can you lock the front and rear diffs.
What are your thoughts on Honda's DCT and ES transmissions?

Top speed ?

I went 65 on mines the mph is off by 10 at high speeds
Is that 615lbs dry weight or curb weight?
Rancher fm1 fm2 etc??
Are there quads that are manual and automatic?
Go get ya one and post a video that would be dope
They need a turf mode to unlock the rear axle! It rips up the sod in your yard when ya turn!

If he’s going to push snow I’d get the model with power steering
@@cadenwilson4698 thanks! Will look into that
Honda are the best quads
Im very sad because in Puerto Rico is very expensive.
Which is better the rancher or the fourtrax please answer
Honda calls all of their off-road vehicles “fourtrax”
Hi.
My name is Ali. I'm from Israel.
May you help me please!
Do you know someone exporting Honda ATVs to our country (Israel)?
Thank you.
