I am happy to say that I was by Nick's side during most of these shots, working for ScotRail at that time. Great video showcasing a great era. Colin Shearer, then Area Manager at Fort William, was the originator of the initiative to return steam traction to the Mallaig line. It has been a regular feature there for almost forty years since and is still going strong.
Fascinating. I remembered having a VHS, as a child, that combined this with Volume 2 of "Steam's Revival" - removing the section of the two-coach charter. Not often you might expect a child, let alone a vulnerable one, to have much exposure to professional railway material, but it always perked the curious side of me. Regards, Samuel Farris.
Brilliant film, brought back some memories of my first holiday to Banavie in 1962 at 11 years of age. Thank you.
