They forgot the part where you have to walk back to your body after the cutscene is done.
Watching him shoot Plague tipped arrows at people and hearing them scream is the most accurate thing about this cinematic

See, unlike real world, where things often align on their own, this is pre-planned scenes, and Nathanos dying where he used to stay in vanilla is another bit of """""brilliant""""" character development from the same team that brought us the BFA storyline

Can we appreciate the fact that Tyrande shot him with an arrow without a bow. She yeeted it with her bare hands right at him and you can't change my mind on this.
I like to imagine she has a bowstring she just quickly attaches to one of her glaives.

Yeah gotta say that kinda took me out of the immersion a bit. And they added a knife hanging by the belt, could have added a bow instead, to make it make sense
In HotS the bowstring and her arrows seem to be made/conjured of light energy, guess it's the same here. Or alternatively when you notice something like that, a wizard did it

You know, some small details people apparently don't notice or just ignore in wow. Shadowhunters, elite troll 'warriors', often use a glaive as their weapon, and night elves, being descendents of trolls, are still using them to this day. It's a really really neat detail, in universe. There is also a place called "Elun'alor", which is a language heritage from Zandali, since 'Alor' means Temple/Palace. I really wish wow players were able to appreciate more of thoses small details.

@@jnomadudc long story short: in Battle for Azeroth, in vengeance for her home, Teldrassil she took a ritual to become the powerful form of Elune’s wrath known as the Night Warrior. But it’s deadly ritual, although I don’t know what exactly is the consequences but I would expect death sooner or later for her.
6 minutes later: Nathanos gets up, reattaching his head to his neck.

@@tknispel never played Warcraft III I see. One of the Priestess of the Moon abilities literally became a Hunter ability through talents, Trueshot Aura. Additionally their primary attribute was Agility. Priestess of the Moon is more Hunter than Priest class.
She is a Hunter AND Priest. Major lore characters multi-class or even have exclusive classes. Sylvanas for example is a Dark Ranger.

Priestess of the Moon has nothing in common with priest. It is a hybrid of druid and hunter.

@Panzer VII Löwe That owl wasn't Malfurion. Tyrande had the same owl in the Darkshore Cinematic, with Malfurion standing next to her.
I believe the owl's name is Dori'thur. But, yes, he has been greatly on board with the vengeance for Teldrassil.

The sadness in her voice when she whispers "For Teldrassil" at the end is perfect. Tyrande somehow has gone from such a one dimensional character to one with actual depth. The immense loss she has gone through has transformed her, both in a metaphorical AND a literal sense, and it's really cool to see it all laid out so well in this cinematic. Whether I agree with what she is doing or not, I can't deny that she's become a fascinating character to watch as she goes through this personal crusade of hers to see Sylvanas pay.

Let's face it, Elune has never let Tyrande down when she needed her goddess. I think back to WC3 when she called upon Elune to destroy the bridge or fought back the naga in Frozen Throne. Elune rewards her faithful well.
It's just that when she did that she also fell into the river and if Illidan didn't came to save her she'd be dead. Also Elune didn't really helped her in Val'Sharah or when Teldrassil burned. So "Elune rewarding her faithful" is pretty questionable.
@@user-bu2sf1gb5t I meannn, falling into the river could've killed her, but it didn't. So I stand by my point. She also called on Elune to use starfall on the orc encampment and to take down a bridge that incoming demons were coming to attack her on.
Elune obviously can't protect her always, but as a devoted follower, I can see why Tyrande hasn't ever faltered with her devotion.

I'm really glad to see Tyrande being a badass, it was long time coming. I was extremely disappointed when she, the Night Warrior, and her hubby, the strongest druid ever to live couldn't take down Nathanos' windrider, and just simply let him fly away. This, though, I liked. For Teldrassil
They have actually retconned Malfurion's status as the strongest druid. He's now fifth or sixth in overall power. His position of leadership is due entirely to his closer relationship with his teacher.

Maiev was also a privious priestess of elune about 10,000 years ago before her bae illidan run away from her.
Yeah thats because back then the wowverse was so much more tame and controlled, they didn't have characters going super saiyan 24/7 with terrible writing, using the power or its equivalent to to destroy s bridge was rare and only used very sparing to keep from destroying ones self.

That feeling when you get beat by a priestess using hunter weapons transmogged to look like a demon hunter with warcraft 3 beastmaster skillset.

Nathanos: *(Groans in pain)* This is... the greatest day of my life!
Tyrande: Do you mind?! I am *trying* to *kill* you!
Nathanos: *(Chuckles)* Hey, if I gotta die anyway, the least I can do is make sure you don't get to enjoy it.

@@cameronmcewen9666 I didn't get to play through that scenario since, at the time, I was just returning to WoW and didn't have a max-level toon. But I've seen the cinematics and playthroughs and I didn't see Nathanos there. I could be wrong, but I don't think he was present when Teldrassil was burned.

“She’s with him... of course.” Anybody else feel really bad for Nathanos when he said this...Nobody deserves to be cucked even if he is an arrogant snob.
She's with... Who? I haven't known much about the lore, I think I lost a lot of info.
I think it's because, based on his voice he wasn't sad ( as in he felt he lost her to the jailer) but rather he was all proud that Sylvanas is already there with the Jailer making their plans become reality, and that there's nothing Tyrande can do to stop her now. Also we know it, he knows it, everyone knew it, his death it's just the shortest way to go to Sylvanas, so to be reunited with the person he loves.

I wish the WoW universe was dark more often. I need 40k levels and this just ain't cutting it...
The WoW universe is much darker than it often seems. It hides beneath comedic relief and colorful graphics. But the subtone is usually not that bright.

I share the sentiment that Nathanos will come back. I actually hope he does. Not cuz I like him overly much, but because I know I can like him.
There is a cool character here! Nathanos is a suave smug rogueish dude. But he doesnt get to be that cuz he's always attached to Sylvanas. He needs to get time to be his own character, have his own character, develop his own agency.
He can be great!

He is just a simp there is no interesting character beyond that. I really hope the next time we see him that he has a fedora would suit his character quite well

That's not what I got at all.
"Where is she?" Tyrande said calmly.
You know I realised that tyrande is now on a sylvanas esque revenge warpath when arthas slaughtered and raised windrunner as the banshee queen, she was on that same path and now tyrande is literally sylvanas and illidan put together half by half.
Literally blizzard has set up so many parallels it's poetic and annoying lore wise.
This was an amazing cutscene, well done! Blizzard! 😎👍
I really hope Darkshore and killing Nathanos are not the only "victories" Blizzard will give her. I really hope she'll be able to achieve so much more. I feel like they want to show us that she is badass and can win victories, but they are only small ones, and I feel like they're not seeing her as a principal character and therefore are not going to let her impact the story more deeply. For instance they're not gonna let her kill Sylvanas and they always make her less important than Anduin, Genn or Jaina.
This would have been more impressive if she didn't killsteal him from us when he was at 10%.
But at least she let us keep one piece of loot.
