Everyone wants a promotional video for something!
I find myself doing a lot of work for corporate companies’ in particular marketing, business promotional videos which is what we are talking about today.
I go through the process that I take for creating a promotional, marketing business video!
I hope that you find this content useful! If I’ve left anything out let me know in the comments section below :)

This video is broken down into the steps that I take to produce promotional marketing content for my clients:
1. Create a Storyboard and Shooting Script
Before you even think about filming put a storyboard together.
2. Prepare the talent. Presenters or Interview Subjects
Making sure all your presenters, actors and interview subjects know what’s expected of them beforehand will help to minimize mistakes or wasted time on the day of the shoot.
3. Know What B-Roll Footage You Need
Broll, B-reel Cutaways!!!
4. Use the Rule of Thirds
The rule of thirds stipulates that your shot should be composed so that your subject of interest is on one of the lines or on one of the interconnecting points.
5. Picture settings and White Balance
You will probably have noticed that Many Corporate videos have a certain look.
6.Lighting
While it is possible to correct image brightness and contrast in post-production it’s better to get the shot right on the day,
7. Check the Acoustics of Your Filming Location
Filming outside will come with its own acoustic challenges when it comes to noise from traffic or nature.
8. Post-Production
Everyone has a way of editing that they are comfortable with - and I’ll be briefly outlining my process of putting a promotional piece together.
9. Animated assets
It might be worth considering if getting involved in animation and after effects is worth doing for your clients and to help you up your video game by adding more value into your productions.
10. Separate and clean up the footage.
One thing I like to do first is to Tidy Up all My Footage Before Putting anything real together.
11. Music
If you listen carefully to most promotional videos you will hear a jingle or some sort of background music of some description.
12. Time to Build
Now it’s time to start actually putting the rough cut of your marketing video together.
If you have any ideas for video content that you want to see more of in the future then please do let me know in the comments section below.

Really quality content! Well done. You are one of the RUclips authors worth following. Keep on like that.
Excellent! Excellent! Excellent! A very comprehensive, concise, articulated and detailed tutorial, plus superb diction Kai! I do filmmaking in my job and always aim to watch others online as well as in the field perform their skills as learning more and more filmmaking techniques, practices, including organisation of overall production never stops no matter much I know now and that is a little in the big wide world of film, especially for me! Cheers, buddy! Great job!

Great videos! Well done. I am in the verge of starting promo marketing video and live streaming services, I just stumble on your channel and I'd found a great informative contents here. If i may ask, what are the benefits of JOINING your community?
Thanks Kai this is really useful. I want to get into video and film production, but don't have a relevant qualification.
I noticed in your trailer that you started working in engineering - How did you manage to get into video for work?
I'm student and I have to do a commercial in 30 second with premier adobe and this is the first time that I have to do add and i dont know how to make it alone and I don't know how to use premier can you help me please
Hi, nice video. My question is, is it common to put a production credit at the end of a promotional video? With website address? Can that be negotiated into the contract? Thanks
Hello. I'm just starting my journey as a film editor and social media promoter. I'm trying to come up with a catchy title for a promo video and a thumbnail but I'm having trouble. What would you suggest? The promo video features everything that a registered massage therapist can do. So it's nothing specific.
Great tips. Some of your shots are in Malta. Are you based here?
Thanks David! I filmed a conference there about two years back now! Such an amazing place (:
I’m trying to make original films with original music And eventually make more paid opportunities in movie making music and art. I’m a man of many talents What is your advice?
4:44 that some devil shxt.
That’s Mr Flyzig - from a music video I filmed 😂😂😂
What program do you use to make the animations?
How do you use RUclips NCS for commercial projects? I thought that wasn't allowed. Or they at least need to be credited. Hard to do that on a company promo video.
Hey Ted, this is a good point, I use epidemic sounds, musicbed and Audio jungle for corporate pieces nowadays, if there is an additional cost on a music piece that a client wants I will add it to their invoice.
@@KaiCreative Gotcha. I switched from epidemic to artlist.io for now. So much more simple licensing rules.
What is the name of the program that you are using to sync the sound and video?
Plural Eyes (:
Have a video on how you make an intro?
What are you looking for - a corporate opener, or a RUclips intro? Let me know and I’ll add it to the video list
I would like something like yours
You are a beautiful man
Your background is quite distractive, I could even find a toilet paper on your book shelve behind the guitar :D
😂😂😂 that’s kitchen roll 😅😅😅
I did not vote here for composition... here is a tip: you can't teach marketing and videography in the same video...
I'm out.
No one will miss you
I wouldn't take video advice from someone who puts loud background music over someone talking!
Thank you!
Thank you 🙏
