This song was su😊ng at many weddings!!!! Larry Graham played with Sly And The Family Stone, before starting his own band, Graham Central Station!!
Thank for your appreciation of the many songs from my era😊!
Interestingly enough he said he sang this song as a dedication to finding his relationship with God.
@@alonzoporter9444oh I didn’t know this tidbit! That’s super cool!
He may be most respected for his musicianship. He is the funkmaster on the bass and is imitated by many of today’s greatest bassists.
Just be My Lady is another great song from Larry Graham …
When we get Married also
@@irnhd42 Yes!
Graham Central Station and Sly and The Family Stone he was a part of and also jammed with Prince
This song was sung at a lot of weddings!
He said he wrote this song to God for finding him and saving his life.
Yes. This song is about Jehovah God.
@@rachel-in-the-208 what city and congregation are you in?
1980... Danced to this song.....Changed a friend to a relationship that I still treasure ..💕💗
❤❤❤
Larry used to sing with Sly and the Family Stone..He also had his own group Graham Central Station..
Awesome group
Larry graham is one in of million love this song ❤️😍❤️❤️❤️💕😍😍
One bit to add to Larry Graham. He and Prince were very good friends. During the 1980’s up to mid 1990’s Prince never did interviews. Larry convinced him to come out of his shell to let the world know about him. Larry also toured and at times was an opening act for Prince.
Larry is one of Jehovah's Witnesses and introduced Prince to the faith.
@@sereneamani1713And this song is in fact about Jehovah God.
"Wayans brothers daddy." 😂😂 What will really get you is that Larry Graham is actually the rapper Drake uncle. Dennis Graham, Larry's brother is Drakes father.
Facts, not a lot of people know this.
@@williamhayes981the real ones know 😂😂
Wow , didn't know but he do look like em
Stunning song♥️
One of the best bass players ever !!!
Love this song!!❤️
This song will NEVER get old for me, it was our class motto Lucy C. Laney Comprehensive High School Class of 81, Augusta, GA. Our marching band played this, they played it at our graduation, and we use it in all our reunion events, T-shirts, hats etc. Wildcats for LIFE. Thanks for reacting to a beautiful song.
I thought you were gonna cry on this one Ashley. A classic burner❤
Ashley, 4 quick facts about Larry Graham: [1) He's primarily known for Funk starting with playing bass guitar for Sly & The Family Stone, then his band "Graham Central Station".......2) He invented a "thumpin & pluckin" bass technique that books are written on and it's studied worldwide since 1969.......3) "One In A Million" was later as a solo artist in a departure from the Funk to become his biggest song ever!........4) This song has two meanings: it's a love ballad for a romantic relationship, but originally it was written to "God" because Larry is a devout Jehovah's Witness........5) Prince grew up on Larry's music and some years before he died, Prince & Larry became good friends to where Larry shared his faith with Prince and Prince had Larry as his bass player for years up until his death........6) Larry is Drake's "Uncle" (he & Drake's father are brothers)]. Ok, ok! I gave you two extra facts! lol
Respect brother Graham. This brother can fop a bass. Many use his techniques in playing bass. Prince best friend.🥰♥️🎵🎼🎶
He's also one of the greatest bass players ever. Check out his songs with Graham Central Station, "Jam" and everything he did with Sly and The Family Stone.
Larry was the bass player for the Legendary group Sly and the Family Stone
A few years ago, I was stationed with Larry Graham’s first cousin in the Army. He was his twin!!!!!! He also was in charge of the dining facility at Fort Eustis Virginia.
My Mother and Father lived an hour away from the Post. Everytine they came to visit, my mom would always say”that’s a good looking man” lol of course my dad was never around😂😂😂😂
My Grandad Died in his 2 bedroom home THIS Song Album i was playing on end of 11th Grade, last day of school BTW, GA. at my LLegal Guardian My Old Grandad Arthur's home in Atlanta, thus having to return to Oakland snd graduate the following year June 1981 as a Eternal Wildcat and not a Bulldog. Then returning back to ATL to Morehouse, Georgia. This Song 😭🙏🏽
It's a great song.....you can feel it. 👍
Originator of the Slap Bass!!
Larry Graham is a legend and that voice is one in a million! I love this song!! 💖💖
Beautiful, romantic song🦋💯💥🙏❤️
Fantastic song!! That voice!! Have always loved this!! 😊
🧡 Can I tell you that this song was sung at every single talent show back in the day! I mean every single talent show! I was in elementary school and they were singing this! 😂😂 BTW, that was HOT CROS BUNS! The first song I learned to play on the Clarinet! Sheesh! 😂😂
This song was one of my favorite ballads, from the 80's! I sang it every time, that I heard it.
It was a different from Larry's 1970's Graham Central Station funk era.
Drakes’ uncle✊🏿.
WoW! now "Wayans Brothers Daddy"🤔😏 never cross my mind until now, And now every time I see this LP cover or Larry Graham, I gonna think about "Wayans Brothers Daddy"😂
He was also the base player for “Sly & the Family Stone”
Perfect reaction - don't hold back. 😂
Glad you hit this song! I was waiting to see when a reactor will finally get to one of my fav romantic songs ever...I saw you also did Always and Forever by Heatwave!
Yeah, I love those songs...my era...haha... There are tons more...
This song always gives me chills 🥰
Such a great song that takes me back to the last day of 7th grade and a slow drag(fog machine and blue lights) for the ages😉
That flute player at the beginning 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I still have this vinyl album!
I was waiting for you to react to Larry's sing. Especially when you reacted to the beginning instruments [before he even started to sing].
Crossover viral hit was heard everywhere: jr. high music performances, school dances and even cheeseball, slowed-down versions at wedding receptions. This song is so universal you'll even occasionally hear a tired, slow, instrumental-only elevator 'muzak' version. Song went global soon after release. Your reaction instincts & feelings were right on.
Larry Graham really threw me a 'curve ball' with this soulful ballad.
I had been used to listening to powerful Funk from Graham Central Station.
The dichotomy between "One In A Million" and "Entrow" (1976) is truly amazing.
I had not known that Larry Graham could sing a soulful/love song like "One In A Million", Ashley.
And I appreciate being able to experience the vast range of vocals Larry Graham is capable of.
Oh Yes killer cut from my teenage years and wow this sounds so good as it did over 4 decades ago fab big people voice and such a heartbreaker
WEARING THAT Fedora....LOL
That was/is such a great song 🎵. I truly loved your reaction this time. Your face lit up immediately and stayed that way. Wonderful.
Must do The Bar-Kays Anticipation!!!!!!!!
He was Prince best friend.
You should also review When We Get Married by Larry as well.
Just Be My Lady is another classic he has and he was also with Sly & The Family Stone he plays the Bass
Stay on your soapbox. It's needed on occasion these days.
I enjoy your reactions.
Cool. Please play "I will Always Love You" by Dolly Parton. "L-I-V-E ". Thank you. Goodday.
Just Be My Lady and When We Get Married are two more bangers by Larry Graham. He's also rapper Drake's uncle!
Curtis mayfield the making of you is a song to give a listen to
The fact that this is Drakes uncle is CRAZY 😩😩😭😭😭.
For those who may not know Lary Graham is also the uncle to Drake. Brother to Drake's Father Dennis Grham. I assume Drake and Larry do not have a relationship because Larry was a far bigger star than Dennis and Drake never mentioned him
Oh, Yes!!!
Yes he kind of resemble Damon.
Another great find Ashley. Wedding song, straight up!
Absolutely! 🙌🏾🙌🏾 it touched my soul . He has such a smooth and soothing voice ✨ just can’t get music like that anymore it’s so timeless
Larry Gram, Central Station started with Sly and the Family Stones 1967
Oh yeah he's in the Gulf Coast museum he was born here in Beaumont Texas
I always said he looked like Damon Wayans.
😂Hot cross buns 😂
Please please do loves changes by Mother's finest! The album version because the video will give you the wrong song. Much love❤ I'm waiting😊

THIS IS DRAKE'S UNCLE! AUBREY GRAHAM/LARRY GRAHAM
Ya your generation need to no what love, real music etc is. Y'all are si behind and lost on a lot of things
Lol.. This Drakes uncle.. He also played with and mentored Prince.. He literally pioneered the slap bass and wrote for Al Green.. His Brother, Dennis Graham, Drakes father played the drums for James Brown and sang himself. Their Cousin Lawrence Mitchell is the famous Producer that recorded artist like Anthony Hamilton John Mayer, 8 Ball and other top artists with the help of his Father Willie Mitchell who produced and recorded Most of Al Green and many top artists back then songs.. I could keep going.. But ima just say.. Drake was born into music.. It's in his bloodline.. He was destined to be an artist..
Drake's uncle
