  • In this episode, I finally get to work on one of the Tiger Bark Ficus trees. I purchased some for me and choose the one that speaks to me the most. I also have a huge problem with my plant room. I fill you in on that as well.

All great thoughts to improve the tropical room! I had to explain to our builders why I needed the front bedroom ‘prepared like a bathroom minus the shower and bathroom things’ - exhaust venting, and the special drywall and treatments 😜.
Those tiger barks sure had thick trunks! And agree Andrea is so great to work with♥️.

Your new house sounds like it’s going to be a bonsai Paradise. Bet you can’t wait.

Yeah, that was nice. I’m happy with my choice too. The others will be workshop trees someday.

Sounds like you’re getting things under control. Mold is a bummer. Good luck. Thanks, keep growing

Hi Dave. Still watching bonsai videos and its 4:00 in the morning. Watching you work on the tiger bark ficus reminds me that I think you are holding one for me. If you do still have one , I will come and pay you for it I need to work on something before I go nuts.

I do have one more. It needs work and a good growing season, but should do well. I understand working to avoid going nuts!!!!!

Nice theory on the repotting and the angle of the tree.

Daggum, that was fantastic vision, and work to get there. I can imagine a thick lush canopy going from P.Branch and rainbowing across to the other side. Really diggin how you worked in the aerial root!
I sure appreciate the education. I just (finally) obtained two rooted cutting of Tiger Bark, pencil led thickness. I’ve got several years to go to get close to what you’re working with. Appreciate the heads up.
Mold problems are a pain in the keister, I hope you all can fix that quick, brother.

you might want to look into getting a Dehumidifier and set it to keep your plants rooms humidity between 40-60%, they sell free standing units at hardware stores intended mostly for basements/bathrooms. I would get one with a good-sized storage tank (big so it doesn't fill to quickly, but not so big you can't lift it when its full) unless you have a drain in the room you can directly drain the water into.

I do have a dehumidifier, so will start experimenting with that.
