Little gem one of my favorite species of tree's.. i have ike 6 of them hehehehe all look different

Here in Australia there is coverage but most people will be at work an be oblivious to it happening I quite like to get an update every quarter and think it a good game. Our code of footballs first round will be played in Las Vegas on the 13th and 14th of march this year. I will be watching BUT i will also be tuning into what content you will be putting out. 👍🇦🇺🦘

Can't wait to work on some trees. Did do a wee bit around Christmas, slowly getting to making more videos. Always enjoy watching yours, you seem so comfortable infront of a camera, one day I'll get there.

I paused the Superbowl just to watch your video Dave...Nigel's Birds Nest Spruce is my favorite all time Bonsai...I was fortunate enough to visit the 'Zone' and actually held it in my hands...I love Spruce as Bonsai because they have so much character...This one is no different...Maybe someday I'll get to visit it...;). A number of my trees are in Tom Butterworth pots - a great British potter with a very striking aesthetic. I will arrange some Tom Butterworth pots as giveaways as a way of giving something back to the viewers. Trees might be a problem as they might exclude some people due to phyto-sanitary requirements so can, for the most part, only be shipped locally.

I'm retired from that treadmill workaday world. The last month I have been bringing a couple of trees a day into my "garden" room (enclosed deck) and going through clean up and winter pruning. This will transition into the potting season. I love the tranquility. I find I can't be thinking about other things and pruning. Call it what you will, I derive great peace and satisfaction. The trees probably would prefer being ignored. But oh well! Thanks! as always.

I’m proudly addicted to bonsai!! but ashamed to also have been an opiate addict for 10yrs+……… Ive been clean for 7yrs now tho!! Which is exactly the same amount of time I’ve been practicing bonsai. I can honestly say that bonsai has saved my life. It’s given me purpose and hope when I had none. Bonsai has helped me heal… it’s absolutely therapeutic!

Reminds me of my dream property (I got outbid) in Oklahoma. There was a section of the forest where some large trees were bent, yet still alive. The odd part is they weren't all bent in the same direction. Fascinating!!!

BRTs take air layering really well! I've successfully done a few on mine over the years. have not had success with taking woody cuttings

Vigilance is the key to keeping the critters off our trees. Great thoughts, Dave. Were you able to keep your Pelargonium Xerophyton alive during the winter months? My two are doing fine in the North Wing by me in the basement. Just wondering.

My friend gave me a Fukien Tea to try and revive. I guess he forgot to water it and it was dry as a bone. I promptly let it sit in a tub of water and let all the bubbles come out of the soil so that the soil was hydrated and it grew just fine in the summer. I gave it back and the following spring I got it back. Still dry. I guess with working long days he could not keep up with the watering. I tried to save it, but to no avail. The trees are strong and do want to grow, but sometimes to much stress they just do not make it.
