Hey Rich, I got these ones too from decathlon. I’m a beginner skater but a pro skier. I have been skating for a month now and I feel I was born for this. I hope these skates will keep improving my technic and will make me a better skater day by day. My last session was on Saturday and I was skating for 4 hours. The double pin just takes a bit of adjusting to, it’s not too bad, I agree. Bearings are fine but can be changed with time; actually feel they are perfect for beginners as they offer a little more resistance and stability, which is ideal when learning the basics. Ultimately, I think they’re a great skate.

Thanks Rich for highlighting the MF500, just picked up a pair, went with my shoe size in 41. They've arrived but they feel quite tight, do they loosen up with the liner embed - wondering whether to go the next size up.
I have bought the Oxelo MF900 3 x 110mm and for the price they are great skates! Not the easiest skates to learn braking. Just skating with them over long distances is great with the MF900! Thinking of getting skates with smaller wheels like the MF500, but not sure if these are the right choice. I also have my eyes on the Powerslide Zoom 4 x 80mm or maybe the Powerslide Zoom Rental 3 x 100mm. I want to learn more tricks like 180s and braking techniques. What would you recommend me? Thanks!
I’ll hopefully be getting a set of the 900 myself! 😁 Yeah, I’d always recommend learning on 4x80, and I always recommend the MF500. Since you already have the boot you might be able to pick up a set of 80mm frames on eBay?
@@RichHayterSkater Thanks! The MF500 are really cheap and I don't think that the Powerslide Zoom 4 x 80 are much better. Thinking of getting a pair of the MF500.
@@RichHayterSkater Why do you recommend 4 x 80mm skates for beginners? I am not really a beginner and can do some decent skating except for the braking techniques and 180s and backwards skating. Forward crossovers to the left isn't a problem for me. Crossovers to the right I still have to learn. Still not sure if I should go for a 3 x 100mm skate like the Powerslide Zoom Pro 100 or these MF500? Do you have experience with tri-skates? Is it easier to learn the different braking techniques on 4 x 80mm or 3 x 100mm? Thanks!
4x80 is a more stable setup. More points of contact with the ground and lower, all of which makes skating easier in my experience. I do have 3x100mm tri-skates and they are super-quick, but I find them way less stable than my 4x80s.
@@RichHayterSkater Really appreciate your advise! These MF500 will cost me 90 euros in the Netherlands. By the way Decathlon also sells the Powerslide Zoom 3 x 100 Red with the trinity frame. Cost more then the MF900 but the liner fits better.
I had the same model. It wasn't bad until after a few months the liner worn out in both shoes at my ankle bone. It became painful to use it after that. Unfortunately the Decathlon doesn't sell replacement liner.
Hey man .. I have the same pair of skates as the first skates I've bought to learn skating with. However they are really uncomfortable for me and it hurt mu ankle. I know that comfort depends on each person's legs and feet .. so I'm just wondering if you faced comfort issues with them ?
Yes, I have heard of others feeling this, and I also feel some initial discomfort on the inside of both ankles. It has reduced over time as these have broken in.
@@RichHayterSkater makes sense... I'm looking to upgrade to a more comfortable skates that my wired feet can feel comfortable with. I would appreciate if you can give me some recommendations for skates since you're really amazing at them. I'm willing to go as high as £300 .. (Thank you for your time)
Thanks! I can only really recommend what I’ve used or what I’ve heard is good. A few that come to mind are the Seba FR1 - this was my first ever inline skate and I loved it. The Powerslide NEXT also gets very good feedback. It uses a Trinity mount which might limit you in the future if you want to change frames, but the Trinity system is very good, imho. The Rollerblade RBDA or the RBX look very good and are skates I’d love to try. The RBDA is Danny Aldridge’s Pro model of the Rollerblade RB, and the RBX is the newest version from RB line, which always seem solid. Rollerblades Twister X Edge is apparently very good but I’ve heard a lot of ankle pain stories here, so I’d probably avoid it. I’d probably stick with 4x80mm because that’s what I really like but there’s always the option to switch to a larger frame and bigger wheels in the future. Hope this helps! 👍
I added this skate to my wishlist. It costs 97€ in my country though. Thanks for your review! Edit : I ended up buying an Oxelo MF900 skates because of a 31% discount 😅
Nice video! I'd like to skate for cardio and do around 5-10km each time - do you think these are good for it? I remember I had a pair years ago (can't remember the brand) but I remember they required very little "effort" to generate a lot of momentum, are these similar? Thoughts? Thanks!
I’d probably not recommend them purely for cardio. In that case you’d be better off with the MF900, which has 110mm wheels and would require less effort. I’d also recommend switching out the bearings as the stock abec 7s can be a bit slow.
@@RichHayterSkater I really appreciate the honesty of that answer. So this makes me think that if I buy these, I should not expect to coast very far. Got to do a lot of pushing to keep these skates moving??
Hi and thanks for the video. I wonder one thing: Are Oxelo hard boot moldable? I've tried many brands and models but ALL of them are pushing my foot at the side. So I'm trying to find out if these one are moldable with heat. I searched but can't find any information specifically regarding these models. Thanks for any info or advice.
Hey Max, these are a standard hard shell boot and there’s nothing to indicate they would be heat mouldable. It sounds like you’re looking for a wide boot, but have you looked at swapping out your liner for something thinner?
@@RichHayterSkater Thanks for a quick answer! And you're right, I'm looking for a wide boot, which I don't seem to be able to find anywhere. When it comes to liner, even if I swap the liner for a thinner one, it stil presses at the same spot to the point it hurts. I really like to have a tick and cozy one to "embrace" my foot in the best possible way. What would be the indication that a boot should be moldable? Thanks a lot in advance. :-)
@Andrew Tarrant I found out they are moldable and I remold them several times till they fit my foot. I am already using one size up and having a thick nice pair of socks. So now I'm skating every time I got the chance.
@@Maxpayam22 can you confirm everything is still okay with your heatmoulded mf500? I got a pair as well, but only after using them did I notice they hurt my feet. They have scratches so I doubt I can still return them to get a bigger size. I was thinking i could heat mould the tip to make my foot fit better.
Hi😊 checked all your vids about this skate so i will buy this one for the beginning. But my shoe size is EU 37 and my question is that should i stick with 37 in skate also?😊 And my other question is that can you remove the frame and wheels? Did you had any problems with that? Because i saw a few videos where they couldn't even take out the wheels because the screws were bent. Thanks for the answer!😊
Good choice, you’ll enjoy them.👌 I personally have always ordered my regular shoe size in skates and this is what I’d recommend. These don’t come in my shoe size; the closest was a half size up. Yes, frames and wheels can be removed, I have rotated the wheels many times and have also removed the frames, neither of which I had any issues with. The wheel axles are 2-piece bolts, so wheel rotation can take longer, but I can’t imagine these bending at all. These skates have a quality to feel to them. 👍
Memory foam is not mentioned, the site states: "Thick foam liner with nylon and lycra interior". Yes, the buckles stay tight with no slippage so far, the plastic seems softer and more flexible than on my Sebas. The frame seems very sturdy even when jumping and landing. My first roll was probably around 2hrs total - more of this session to follow in separate videos - and I did feel some discomfort on the inside of both ankles just above the bone. Still breaking them in.
This video proves the most inconvenient truth in blading: it really isn't about the skate, it's about the skater. I feel a disturbance in the force, ten thousand Solomon owners cried out in terror and suddenly stopped.
I watched your video's and bought these yesterday :) i am a beginner (rollerskated when i was little). I like them but they feel heavy, and I feel like I wont get used to it? I am thinking about buying the oxelo fit500, according to the website they are lighter but i am not sure about the quality. I dont want to have to buy new ones in a year. Would you recommend them? Also I bought these one size bigger and they do fit well but feel tight. Is that how they are supposed to feel? They dont hurt or press anywhere they just feel thight
When I first tried these they also felt a tad heavy compared to what I was used to, but I adjusted to this very quickly and now they feel good. If they’re feeling tight try playing around with the buckles and laces, you don’t need to have them fully cranked up. I like a little room at my ankle so I tend to loosen the top buckle. Remember, they are brand new so they’ll need a little time to bed-in. I haven’t tried then Fit500 but, personally, I’d stick with the MF500, they seem more robust and I feel they will last much longer and will offer you more fun in the long run. You’re a new skater and things will take time. Try not to get too hung up on the small stuff, things will begin to feel way more natural with time. Enjoy!
Hey Rich! Your videos are amazing! Thanks a lot! You made me buy these ones ehe Could you make a tutorial of you doing those drills and moves you just did after putting your skates? Please xD Would love to practice those around the house or small spaces. You have such control, balance and maneuverability in such a small space. Are they know exercises or is basically freestyle stuff you improv? Sorry for these questions, I'm a noob.
Thanks, Ricardo! In this power slide tutorial, I outline a few little drills to practice, which are very similar to what I’m doing indoors. You can even practice them on grass at first. Hi there, i'm a beginner skater. Currently i own an old pair of rollerblades core xtv. I'm thinking to buy the oxelo mf 500 as my first freeride skates or the Rollerblade RB cruiser but are twice the price. I saw from your videos that you still using the oxelo mf 500. Can you give me your feedback about these skates. I read a lot of reviews and i'm confused. Do they hold well. How is the built quality, will i need to start replacing parts soon. Many people said that are heavy. How much heavier compare to an expensive brand. My rollerblades weights 3.26 kg including the brake. Thanks in advance!
Honestly, I rate this skate, I still use it and have a ton of fun with it, I also think it makes complete sense for beginners. The build quality is good, it’s durable, the stock components are adequate. My only issue is the 2-pin wheel axels, as they require 2 hex-keys (which are provided), and it makes wheel rotation a bit of a chore. I noticed these to be very slightly heavier than my other skates, but it’s barely noticeable, and for the difference in price I’d say it’s acceptable, they also come with a brake. If you can afford to pay more and you’re happy to do that then sure, choose the RB, no doubts it’d be a good skate, but if price is an issue I wouldn’t hesitate with the Oxelo, it’s a solid skate in my opinion.
I think that the double pin of the wheels aren't a bad idea. Less risk of damaging your frame when you turn them to tight. Powerslide has a single pin for the wheel but there frames are casted frames. If you turn then to tight you might damage the thread.
Hey Rich , thanks for the review. I have read the axles and bolts attaching the frame to the boot is not the standard hex, but would you be able to confirm, could one fit seba/fr frames onto the boot ? Many thanks again for the review.
Hey! They do look smaller but the hex bolts are the standard size for both the axles and frames. The 2-piece axles are my only real issue with this skate and I’m planning on switching out the frames for my old Seba FR1 frames. I’ll let you know more once I’ve done this, but the hex key is defo the standard size.
Awesome! Can’t comment on the installation of the brake as I don’t use it, I prefer to use this m.ruclips.net/video/nux7upOtMRs/видео.html Should be simple enough to do; perhaps I’ll look into this and provide some more detail.
You should have received 2 L keys in the box and 2 longer axles. I’ll try to guide from memory: - 1. Remove the axels from the back 2 wheels. 2. Slot the brake in place, lining the holes up with the back 2 wheels. 3. Insert the 2 longer axels through the brake and the back 2 wheels and tighten them up. If you go to 2:06 of the following video, you’ll see what it looks like. ruclips.net/video/y611qwPl0kw/видео.htmlsi=IAWvCxw7YcRfn5gc
I bought these . But they gave me so much pain In right foot . Went to the store and tried another pair+ one pair bigger, still same problems but on the left foot. So I decided to pay a little more and buy some fila skates. Very comfortable.
Hey Rich, I can see you got a 43 EUR size. Is that your real size right? I’m asking cos I got my real one too but I’m still waiting to be delivered and would like to make sure that they will fit perfectly. Thanks!
I’m size UK9, which is usually EU43, but with the Oxelo this is a UK8.5, so I had to go for EU44, which is UK9.5. Just felt the UK8.5 might be too small. They do feel pretty roomy so I wouldn’t size up if they have your exact size.
Hey, i tried the skates for 250-300 euro. All of them hurt my ankles or midfoot (I have a narrow foot, but protruding internal ankles) ... Surprisingly, only Oxelo fit perfectly and I think I'll buy them for jumping and fast driving around the city....But where can you buy parts, buckles, uppers, sliders for these skates?
@@RichHayterSkater I can't find the official oxelo website - I'm always redirected to Decathlon. And Decathlon has no parts on offer. I can see that you are skating all kinds of inline skates. In your opinion, they differ significantly in quality from expensive rolls for 200-300 euro? In your opinion, if such skates were released by Powerslide or Seeba - would they be much more expensive?
I can honestly say these Oxelos have a quality feel to them; perhaps not as premium as the more established brands but certainly not budget. I'd say the wheels and bearings quality feels noticeably reduced compared to other brands, and the frame, due to it not being threaded, is something that stands out for me. If the MF500 was a product of a more established brand, these are the areas I think would be improved. I don't want to take anything away from the other brands; they invest heavily in their skates and the quality is apparent in all the brands I've skated. Oxelo have produced a high quality skate that offers an inexpensive avenue into skating.
@@RichHayterSkater So I get in the car and go buy Oxelo. And not because they are cheap, because I had a maximum of 300 euros allocated for skates. I only buy them because they fit my feet the best. And the rest of the cash will be spent on a better rail and wheels, because it's SSM 165mm right?
Yeah, it's a standard 165mm frame. I wouldn't go out and spend that cash right away, the Oxelo frame is good, I'd recommend having a thorough play about on it first! And you'll have a ton of fun burning through those Oxelo 86A wheels!😁
4x80 vs 4x90, there’s a fair difference between these skates and the price. The NEXT spec is better, I’m a fan of the Trinity frame, and they get great feedback so, I’d go for them if budget wasn’t and issue.
I usually choose my regular shoe size which is a UK9 EU43 and have never had any issue. However, these don’t come in a EU43, so I opted for the EU44 which is a UK9.5.
@@tomcraft2594 how was the sizing? I recently order one online I’m size 7 and ordered a size 6 1/2 but I’m now worry that it will be tight , how was the sizing for you ?
2 longer bolts are supplied. Remove the bolts from the back 2 wheels from the desired skate, slip the brake bracket in place so that the holes line up with the back 2 wheels, slip the 2 longer bolts through the bracket and both back wheels and ensure they are secure. Done. ✅😁 I’ve never used it or any skate brake so I can’t comment on it. If you want to learn to stop without it, watch this: - How to stop on skates Power Stop
I’ve never used the RB Cruiser but the boot looks like the standard RB boot, which seems to be very good. If you can and want to spend the extra £35, it might be worth doing so. If you’re really not sure you’ll stick to inline, it might be worth checking out the Oxelo. It’s increased by £5 since I got mine.
I really want to get these skates as my first ones! I CANT WAIT TO START SKATING, i've been watching so many videos on skates to choose the one for me, I was considering the seba frx 80 too, but these are half the price so it's sort of a no brainer ahah, do you recommend these or the seba (if you know of those skates)
Great to hear another skater is on the horizon! The Sebas will be a great skate no doubt and if funds aren’t a problem these might be the way to go. But if you’re on a budget and still want a great skate then I’d look no further than the Oxelo.👌
@@RichHayterSkater what would be the exact difference between them if you know, is it just the lighter feeling? yeah i’m so excited!! 🥺when did you start skating? i’m 16. i’ve just seen your video comparing walking and skating, i’ve always felt that about walking, there isn’t a thrill of it for me.
@@RichHayterSkater i find it really strange how i’ve never seen skaters, apart from little kids. esp bc i live in a coastal uk city similar to yours, would’ve thought seen people skating
The Seba has a great boot and liner, the frame seems to be rockerable, and the wheels and bearings will be better too. Like I said, if you don’t grudge paying the extra, the Seba would be a great skate. The Seba FR1 was my first inline skate about 12 years ago. You can hear about how I started, here. 👇 m.ruclips.net/video/xOuWV9ip9aI/видео.html
I have used them only twice and I will be returning them. They are good for the price, I do agree with that but overall they are not good skates. Maybe for beginners they can work but for me being a pro skier they are not my cup of tea 😆. So, if you are an experienced skater these are not for you. It’s definitely worth expending more money for better quality.
Don’t get me wrong, if you’re already an established skater and have a set of decent skates, these won’t be of interest to you, and I mention this in the 2nd video I made about these. But for beginners who are put off by the price of skates, these are a great place to start. Personally, I can have a good session on these, but I consider them more of a training skate, something I’m not going to be concerned about getting scrapped up.
@@RichHayterSkater yeah, totally agree with you. However, in my case and I believe there will be more cases like mine... I have been skating for only a month but have been skiing since I was 4 years old. In a month time skating I do jumps already, I can skate fast, can do power stop (slightly), t stop too, slalom so fast... and more stuff... so they are definitely not for me. But for someone who is only beginning... yeah, these could work. They feel fine but not great and that makes a huge difference for me. Fine is not enough 😁

Excellente vidéo 👌
I had the same model. It wasn't bad until after a few months the liner worn out in both shoes at my ankle bone. It became painful to use it after that.
Unfortunately the Decathlon doesn't sell replacement liner.
Yes, the liner is defo the weak point.
My wife bought this for her starter skates. It is so comfortable. You feel like you have suspension below the skates
These are surprisingly comfortable skates! 👍
Actually they have susspension
@@RichHayterSkater thank you so much for taking the time. I'll do some research on the skates you mentioned and I'll decide afterwards.
Great 👌. Good luck)
I added this skate to my wishlist. It costs 97€ in my country though. Thanks for your review!
Edit : I ended up buying an Oxelo MF900 skates because of a 31% discount 😅
Enjoy! 👍
This is good to know. I get a bit of discomfort around my ankles at times so maybe I’ll try this.👍
@@Maxpayam22 can you confirm everything is still okay with your heatmoulded mf500?
Good choice, you’ll enjoy them.👌
I personally have always ordered my regular shoe size in skates and this is what I’d recommend.
Thank you for your fast answer!😊🙏🏻 Can't wait to skate😁 i was skating when i was 10 years old so hopefully i will remember how to skate.🤭🤞🏻
How are the liners? Are they memory foam around ankle & tongue? Do the buckles stay tight? Is the frame twitchy or sturdy?
Memory foam is not mentioned, the site states: "Thick foam liner with nylon and lycra interior". Yes, the buckles stay tight with no slippage so far, the plastic seems softer and more flexible than on my Sebas. The frame seems very sturdy even when jumping and landing. My first roll was probably around 2hrs total - more of this session to follow in separate videos - and I did feel some discomfort on the inside of both ankles just above the bone. Still breaking them in.
The liners aren't great, but I still find them comfortable after breaking them in, and they're still holding up after 2 years of skating almost daily.
The liners aren't great, but I still find them comfortable after breaking them in, and they're still holding up after 2 years of skating almost daily.
This video proves the most inconvenient truth in blading: it really isn't about the skate, it's about the skater.
I feel a disturbance in the force, ten thousand Solomon owners cried out in terror and suddenly stopped.
😂😂 That’s paints a picture!
I, of course, agree with you; I don’t think you need to spend a fortune on skates to have a blast! 😁
Enjoy!
@@RichHayterSkater thank you for your answer! I am going to try that, I think I am keeping them!
I bougt these today, i get some cramp in my feet, but i think if i change the liner it will be good.
Cool! But I’d give them some time to break-in, you might find they feel better after a few weeks of use.
Enjoy! 👍
Hey Rich! Your videos are amazing! Thanks a lot! You made me buy these ones ehe
Could you make a tutorial of you doing those drills and moves you just did after putting your skates? Please xD
Would love to practice those around the house or small spaces.
Give them a try, you might find them helpful. 👍

They’re not bad at all once you get used to them.
Are th wheels polyurethane? Can you please tell me the type of the wheels?
Yes.
I have a pair of these ordered online. Are the brake pads necessary/easy to install for someone who hasn't roller bladed since they were a kid?
Awesome! Can’t comment on the installation of the brake as I don’t use it, I prefer to use this

Should be simple enough to do; perhaps I’ll look into this and provide some more detail.
@@RichHayterSkater thanks a lot mate, I'll definitely be practicing my power stop skills 😄
Hi just a quick question. How do you untie the second ties? The one on the ankle?
You lift a little clip to release the buckle.
@@RichHayterSkater the metal piece?
Hey can you show how to install the brakes that come with this i think i have only 1 L key i cant remove the screws on the brakes
You should have received 2 L keys in the box and 2 longer axles. I’ll try to guide from memory: -

Hi. Can I ask you about the sizing on these? If I wear shoes size 8 in the UK, should I buy those skates in my size or go size bigger?
Personally, I’d stick with your regular shoe size. 👍
@@RichHayterSkater thank you for answering my question :-)
For a starter in roller skating which pair number should i purchase, the same as for sneakers? Or a number bigger?
+1 👍
I bought these . But they gave me so much pain In right foot . Went to the store and tried another pair+ one pair bigger, still same problems but on the left foot. So I decided to pay a little more and buy some fila skates. Very comfortable.
Yeah, it can be an issue for some people, myself included; I am working on a fix though!
HI,
How many cm your foot has that 44 is ok?
My foot is 28cm, MP 280
Hey Rich, I can see you got a 43 EUR size. Is that your real size right? I’m asking cos I got my real one too but I’m still waiting to be delivered and would like to make sure that they will fit perfectly. Thanks!
Yes, this is my normal shoe size.
@@RichHayterSkater how do they fit for you? Would you get half size smaller?
I’m size UK9, which is usually EU43, but with the Oxelo this is a UK8.5, so I had to go for EU44, which is UK9.5. Just felt the UK8.5 might be too small. They do feel pretty roomy so I wouldn’t size up if they have your exact size.
Cool! I got my exact shoe size so it should be fine. Thanks!
They really are a quality skate.
Not sure about parts; you checked the Oxelo site or Decathlon?
Would you recommend them to a beginner?
100% Yes!
@@RichHayterSkater would you recommend them to somebody who is not a beginner?... you don't feel like they're too cheap or anyting??
So, would you consider these a narrow fit then?
I probably wouldn’t consider them particularly narrow, they feel regular to me; I never have issues getting them on or off.
I want buy MF500 OR Powerslide-Next-Black-White 90 BUT I don't know which one to choose .
4x80 vs 4x90, there’s a fair difference between these skates and the price. The NEXT spec is better, I’m a fan of the Trinity frame, and they get great feedback so, I’d go for them if budget wasn’t and issue.
@@RichHayterSkater Thanks a lot
What size shoe are you compared to the skates?
I usually choose my regular shoe size which is a UK9 EU43 and have never had any issue. However, these don’t come in a EU43, so I opted for the EU44 which is a UK9.5.
@@RichHayterSkater okay thanks really appreciate it
Are these skates good for person with narrow and thin feet?
They could be. The boot, though it’s a hard shell, it does seem to be more flexible than others I’ve used.
im a size 12 but they only go up to 11 do you reckon they will be ok ?

Hi! how to I fit the brake? thanks a lot!
2 longer bolts are supplied. Remove the bolts from the back 2 wheels from the desired skate, slip the brake bracket in place so that the holes line up with the back 2 wheels, slip the 2 longer bolts through the bracket and both back wheels and ensure they are secure. Done. ✅😁

Do you think it's better to pay about £35 more for Rollerblade Cruiser RB? Or there is not much difference in these two models?
I’ve never used the RB Cruiser but the boot looks like the standard RB boot, which seems to be very good. If you can and want to spend the extra £35, it might be worth doing so. If you’re really not sure you’ll stick to inline, it might be worth checking out the Oxelo. It’s increased by £5 since I got mine.
Hey mate hope u can afford insta360 soon! Gudluck man

Superr!!

The Seba has a great boot and liner, the frame seems to be rockerable, and the wheels and bearings will be better too. @@RichHayterSkater why did you switch skates? did they get old
I have used them only twice and I will be returning them.
Fine is not enough 😁
bruh that color way!!!!.........why dont we get that
Dunno!
Is that ok for me to buy oxelo fit 500? Because at my place only left fit 100 and fit 500. So, which one better?
