I don't know what distracted you at ~1:40 (but I sure as hell share the instinct, almost knew something was coming up) to miss the slippery ground right there but the way you caught yourself and immediately returned attention to look forward to make sure everyone else is safe... man that moment itself is amazing and could easily go unrecognized. I love how you just focus on your craft even though you're obviously a pro at it and then when there's enough room you take time to interact with the crowd (soccer ball). There's levels to this and this is a joy to watch. I had to laugh pretty hard when you said "there's people on the wrong side of traffic"...
😂 Yeahhhh admittedly it got hectic there! By the end of the video, adrenaline was definitely pumping and there was a lot going on. When you ride like this frequently, you start to build all sorts of instincts and it's easier to act on the fly. Glad you enjoyed the vid, thanks so much for hanging out!
Jack does reverse pumping to slow down at 4:52. Reverse pumping is my favorite freeskating core skill, because of how useful it is to slow down in a straight line on sidewalks or even when going down steep hills. Where I cruise there is a dead end street, so after going top speed, I reverse pump until I reach a complete stop, and then start going in the opposite direction.
That is nuts.......I just ordered some so you mission is complete. The traffic was intense and I think that fact that you were not on a skateboard which makes people think you are a criminal (from my own experience) generated some good will and curiosity. Thanks for the video!
when i first saw a video of a surf skate, i knew i had to have it and it changed the way i thought about skating. now i'm thinking these are the ultimate joyride. and can fit in a carry on bag easily! I think you will have a new customer!
From someone who learned Tokyo’s as their first trick, it helps with balance immensely. Learning Tokyo and one footing at the same time will help you grow really fast.

Our videographer (myself, Gabe) is riding freeskates just like Jack! Turns out they are a great filming tool. Although, Jack was really ripping in this video, so it was a workout keeping up with him while managing to get the shot 😆

Jack will ride for hours on end some days! In this video we were going for speed, nonstop cruising, lots of tricks, etc. Most people, even Jack, won't be riding at 100% on a normal day out.
