The views on the last part of the drive were amazing. How unusual for National Parks to have cryptic road closures signs but a good call not to drive it.
@davewarland1680 thx mate was nice enough to explore the northern Victoria range. Shame about Saunders track but another time for that one. Thx for watching and commenting
Glad to see you didn't hit that bypass on the closed tracks mate. Good to see people setting a good example out there. Those ranges looked mad, would be nice to see them from the top for sure.
It's a great spot and a lot to see. Most stick around Halls Gap township, do the pinnacles walk and a couple of the other major tourist spots but the western valley has heaps to see and much less visited.
When you drive around Gariwerd you see a lot of bypass tracks around gates, and often you will get along a track and find it has a gate only at one end. I sometimes think that Launder (?) track gets close because the area not known for hard 4x4 and there are so many visiting both local and international that they get caught out, unprepared and stuck. Also the Victorian Range Rd is a great drive north to south.
Love your t-shirt. I see you're a man of culture as well. This looks like a really pleasant, easy drive. I'm new-ish to Vic (and touring and a whole lot of outdoorsing in general), and this is the sort of thing that would make for a good first drive out with the family. What was the map app you were using at the start? I'm unfamiliar with a lot of the tools in use in Australia and could use some advice.
Hey Mate thanks, usually wearing a channel T Shirt but this was a less structured, less planned trip I decided to film on the spur of the moment. My intro's are filmed off my PC, which is running Memory Map. It's a free app but you pay for the maps. I use this for trip planning for which it's ideal as I have a large monitor. IN car I use the Hema HX2 - but honestly if I had my time over I think I'd go a tablet running memory map for all. Grampians is a great touriing spot, lots to see and very few difficult tracks where you'd get into trouble. Some great 4wd maps downloadable from Parks VIC as well for the area.

Could be. Agree VIC Range Rd/track and the Goat track are both great drives have done videos on that previously. Not difficult either.
