@lobstrosity7163 I found out what you mean by pivotal...knew my boy was damaged but wasn't expecting him to be colluding with Adolins ex and some light eyed fop
Damn....this actually makes me want to see an entire animated movie/series. I can't imagine how incredible it would be with Arcane style animation. Even a CGI style like this would be incredible.
I started to animate the series and you can Watch the prelude on my channel. But it‘s fairly bad and not nearly as good as this one. But I am trying to get there ;)
I like how how you did Syl. This is the thing I worry about the most for a potential SA adaptation - the spren could make the world look terribly awkward if not done right. But yours feel right somehow.
Yup. This is heavily implied. On one of the runs he yells “Tien” in desperation sees that the Parshendi seem surprised by what is happening. He used Reverse Lashing to make the bridge attract the arrows.
its heavily implied in the way of kings that that's exactly what was happening. kal was infusing the bridge with light causing the arrows to be attracted to it and thus avoiding him. he just didn't realize he was doing it. it's even mentioned I think that Kaladin would return from bridge runs and find all his spheres would be dun despite just being recently infused.
I have a hard time visualizing while reading, so this was serious such a pleasure to watch (despite being so brutal!) I always wondered how the bridge runs might look, and now I know! Thanks mate
Amazing work! You really showed the brutality and intensity of the runs. When the man falls down the chasm and its zooms out to the bridge sliding over the chasm, absolute perfection
SOO cool! What a great project! PLEASE depict another stormlight or cosmere scene in a future project!! It's very enjoyable to see something like this! Excellent job! So neat to see anything from the Stormlight Archive depicted on the screen :)
Bro if a small team with small budget can create these kind of animation. Imagine a big studio, showing the love cosmere deserves. It would instantly beat all the show records if it remains faithful to the books.
So that's how the bridge look. I have had trouble imagining it everytime I think about it. It doesn't make sense what I imagined. Yours, it made absolute sense. Thanks!
I don't think it's 100% accurate--TWoK describes it having grooves for the bridgemen, and Bridge Four's side carry maneuver never would have worked to block arrows with all that open space between the spokes in the animation. But otherwise I'd say it gets the general idea.
Amazing work, congratulations to every participant in this beautiful animation, I loved the Syl transition and the exhaustion and hopelessness on Kaladin's face
Oh storms this is amazing! I got chills! I've always wanted a live-action Stormlight, but you have just changed my mind. A CGI film would look awesome too. I was so disappointed to see this end, I kept waiting for more haha. If an unofficial fan vid made me feel this hyped up, imagine what would the official trailer do, no matter the medium. Once again, thank you so much! I immensely enjoyed the sixty-one seconds I spent watching this. No doubt I will enjoy all my rewatches too.
this was so well done. i'm not a big fan of anything post book 2 in stormlight archive but these scenes of bridge four traversing the chasms will always stand out to me.
The shattered plains looks amazing just how I pictured it. I feel like the animation itself was missing something though maybe smoothness but I'm not an animator or artist. All in all great video
This does make more sense for the build of the bridges than what I had in my head…but I still want to see a wooden trestle span bridge wide enough for two war horses to ride side by side across a 40ft wide chasm, which is more of my personal head cannon. Still, very nicely done!!
Excellent work. I always thought it is impossible to adapt stormlight archive. The shattered plains, spren and different beasts. But after seeing this I have hope.
I would love if all the Cosmere got adapted into an Anime. Live action would be great but I feel like anime style would be the best medium to bring these books to life, especially mistborn and Stormlight.
There were people underneath the bridge too If i remember correctly and I'm pretty sure the bridge must'e had a slight arch to deal with the weight of the heavy cavalry. But great animation
Wow this is amazing. Keep making more SA stuff man. Your channel can be THE channel for visually looking at cool and important scenes from the books. Maybe Sanderson will contract you one day for some work too.
This is amazing! The one criticism I have is that the bridge crew seems to be walking quite slowly, compared to them sprinting/running as fast as they could in the book. But that’s rather minor compared to the overall quality of the animation
I'd like to know how they keep the top from dipping down as it rolls over the void of the chasm. It seems like they'd need a lot of downward pressure on the backend to avoid that.
This was great! Personally though, I always pictured smaller bridges, with the bridgemen much more closely packed, since they have to be able to side-carry the bridge. This felt like a weird amalgamation of Sadeas' bridges combined with the Kholin bridges.
Fantastic job dude! I love syl becoming a ribbon of light. And the facial animations are really impressive. (I don't know much about animation but I know faces are hard.) I also like the body falling in the chasm. They only thing I would like to criticize is the running animation during the wideshots seems to be the same for every model. Sorry I'm not an animator so I don't have a solution for this. But this is by far the best Stormlight animation I've seen on RUclips so far.
I didn't imagine the Shattered Planes area to be soo deserty. I thought it would be more like in Death Stranding, where it sorta looks like normal area, but something unnatural cracked it.
This is awesome , but can't help but think that the bridges should be much larger than this with men in the middle , since I think in the way of kings they say that it takes like 35 men or so to carry a bridge, and there were cutouts in the bottom of the bridge for people to carry it from underneath as well. Either way, fantastic job!
This was so good! I think the only way to truly do justice to most fantasy and specially Stormlight is animation.. too many extra factors involved in live adaptations and it is exhausting and off putting to have to wade through all the social media wars to just enjoy something we love. With animation we can have every thing as in the books.
Wow! This is some incredible work... 2 deaths? Good run by all standards. Life Before Death, Radiant.
