Line: about 99.5% of my life. 😂 I'm Puerto Rican, even with a dryer, I prefer what our mother's way. Line, even in rain, under a roof, of course. 😂 🤷🏻♀️❤🇵🇷
😂 i get you! 🇵🇷
Another Boriqua here. Always line dry at Abuela's house!
I got in the habit of line drying in California, but now I live in South Dakota, and it is too cold a huge portion of the year! 😥
I'm Romanian and I agree with you.
Yes, me too here in Mexico. Better for the environment too
Yes 👍 back here in the Philippines, we still do hang our clothes in the laundry line. Makes the clothes smell like sunshine 🤗🌞
Btw, a red barn inspired soap would be nice 🙂 that barn of yours is really cool ☺️
I never thought I would ever say “I have barn envy”. Gorgeous property and absolutely love the daffodils 💕
I had a clothesline for most of my childhood (mid-nineties and early 2000’s!). I have vivid memories of hanging clothes on the line. As a baby I even had a swing that was attached to it! And then as I got a little bit older the neighborhood kids and I would hang sheets from it to use as theater curtains and put on little shows for our parents 😊 ugh such good times!
I love those clouds! It reminds me of Toy Story. Something to keep in mind for your Pixar-inspired collection. :)
We know how you feel Katie!! Here in Montreal they say we have 2 seasons - Winter and Construction 🤣... it goes from insanely cold to hot and humid ... tons of snow followed by tons of orange cones!!
I live in Czechia, & it's the same. The minute the weather is over freezing, every road & town square gets dug up...
OMG I've been watching you since before Lily was born, time goes by so quick. I enjoy your positive attitude so much it can take me out of a funk so thank you for that.
Not sure if there's a new mic in use or what, but that audio is SUPER crisp! 🌟 And the soaps look great as always! 💙💛
Yay, thank you!
I love the round tip. They look like shiny little marshmallow blobs. Such pleasing little friend fluffs.
Oh yeah, every time I wash my clothes at my mom's I have to hang them on lines since she doesn't have a dryer, and if the weather allows it then I love hanging my clothes out on the laundry lines outside in her garden. Especially in spring and summer. It just gives a very nice feel and scent to the clothes when they've hung in the soft breeze like that in my opinion. Even more so out by my grandparents cabin by the sea. It's a bit tricky to explain, but when the laundry has hung outside by the cabin they take on this scent of salty water, pine, rosehip and honeysuckle that I just ADORE.
It's just such a nice and nostalgic scent to me. It brings back so many fun and lovely memories of time spent there through the years~
Also, my favorite fabric softener has the scent of honeysuckle and sandalwood, and it smells A-ma-zing!
Yes, we had a line. I was raised very old school. We loved the job of handing Mother the clothes pins. 😆 We eventually purchased machines. It's brings back great memories, especially if there was rain. The collective would race out to get clothes before they were drenched.
If the stamp improves after the first few stampings, you could stamp the end pieces so that it's mostly primed when you get to the full size bars. Not sure how much of an issue it is; just a thought I had 😊 beautiful design!
I love the spring flowers that grow out of bulbs and their mini variety. Crocusses, daffodils, Hyazinths, ... it's my favourite part of spring to see the start to bloom.
Edit: Love the soap and the stamp
Clotheslines have been in and out of my life for all of my 52 years. My husband just built me my most recent one here in Alabama about a month ago, and I am loving it. Can't wait to see how much electricity it saves by not using my dryer. The soap is beautiful as always.
I love the outdoor outro/intro! It is just soo cute 😊. Also fit great with the soap, but I think it could work for most of your soap videos. Would love to see more 😊.
I’m so excited for this launch! Anything crisp cotton or laundry related scent wise just speaks to my heart 😂 Great job as always Katie!
I love that you home school. I do, too. I'm on year 19 of home schooling my 5 kids. The oldest is a Wildland Firefighter and volunteer structural Firefighter. My second oldest is in college, my 3rd graduates high school this June. My 4th is finishing his 9th grade year and my youngest is finishing 5th grade. ❤❤❤ I love that you are teaching yourself with your kids as well. You rock!
Nothing smells better than bed sheets that have been hung outside to dry. That is my favorite smell!
I hang clothes on the line all the time because my kids have stained shirts constantly and the sun works wonders! I also cloth diaper and hang the parts that can't go in the dryer.
By the way, I learned that crunchy clothes can be caused by using too much laundry detergent. My clothes and towels are so much softer now that there isn't a bunch of detergent residue in them.
I agree…. Nothing like clothes dried on a line! Love this one! 😊❤
I love the clean cotton scent . Been wanting you to do some. YAY KATIE!! Can’t wait to get mine!!
I know what you mean about winter. I have S.A.D. I think you mentioned you have it too, but you didn't call it by that name. I've been soaping all winter to get my mind off the horrible weather up here in Ohio and the passing of my mother 2 years ago St. Patrick's Day. You did recently mention you no longer use that tip, lol. :) Hey, it is the perfect tip for that & marshmallow fluffy stuff, etc. Love the soap & I have noticed that the weird thing amongst soap makers is still going on. I am on day *I don't even know right now* of building a my first landscape soap, LOL! I have the hugest embed & had to build up my mold. Literally. If it turns out well, I'll post a picture. :) Have a great night & hold your family tight. Time passes all too quickly.
Tbh as someone who lived in Alaska and Oklahoma, winter in the north is 1000 times better than in the south for me. Im absolutely biased because i love Alaska, but the snow changes everything. We had a big pile outside our house every year that my dad would throw us in and all the hills in our neighborhood made it really fun to sled down them.
I'm in Queensland Australia and it's autumn and stinkin hot still. Last week we hit 39°c (about 102farenheit)
I'm totally over it! Bring on winter ☃️
I use laundry lines always...it saves on utilities and my clothes smell incredible!😇❤️
Growing up, I remember we tried a laundry line in Virginia, but not was too humid! Now I live in QLD Australia, and line drying is the norm here. Unfortunately my chronic illness doesn't allow that often, so I have a dryer and use it regularly. The Summer sun is also way too strong here, and when I have put laundry on the line, it has gotten sun bleached really fast because our line is in full sun. So I use folding clothes airers on our covered patio when I don't use the dryer.
This is an adorable soap. I love the tip you used for frosting, perfect for clouds. I used to line dry all of our cloth diapers when the weather and time allowed.
My mother swore that was why neither of her kids had diaper rash. (bro and I 60's babies) Said the sunshine deodorized and the bleach killed the badies. 👌
Yes, line dry those diapers.
I love your backdrop of the barn, pretty yellow flowers, and green everywhere. True Texas country. I have family in Cheek and love, love, the feel of driving around there. Thanks Katie! This brings back so many memories, ; )
I must speak up. Winter is my favorite time of year. The sadness you mentioned you feel during winter, I feel that same way during summer. I hate it!! 😢
In Australia you only use the dryer if it's raining and you can't wait for a clear day to do laundry! Every single house comes with a clothes line, and if you live in an apartment, chances are you own a fold up rack called a Clothes Horse! Unfortunately it isn't shaped like a horse, but they do the trick. Clean linen is one of my favourite scents, and fluffy clouds in a bright blue sky are a perfect match, that's exactly what i see in my mind when smelling fresh laundry. Love it!
We are devoted line drying folks! I know in the US it's not very common, but it's so much better for the environment and for your clothes!
Here in California our first day of Spring was nice, sunny, windy. Next day pouring rain, snowing up in the mountains, and it's suppose to stay dreary a bit longer. I'm looking forward to some warm and breezy days.
I grew up helping my grandma put things on the line during the summer. I also use a line some as an adult. The only item I would rather have in a dryer is towels they're softer that way.
You have grass, breeze and bulbs... and we got both rain AND snow yesterday... My grandparents had a clothesline in Wisconsin. I plan on hanging one in my office to dry dyed yarn. When we get a new house where I can set up a dye studio, I'll be putting up several of them!
It is always confusing to me when people say they hate winter and get sad during it, because I am the exact opposite. I love the cold, and getting to bundle up in cozy clothes. But when the warmer weather comes around I get moody, quick to get anger, and find it hard to do anything but lay in bed. It is so strange how different people can be, and I suppose seasonal depression can be for any season.
I’m Australian & we have a famous clothes line called “The Hurl’s Hoist”. It’s an umbrella shaped metal frame with multiple clothes lines on it like a spiderweb. You can raise & lower it to catch the breeze (& keep your clean clothes safe from contamination by your kids & pets running around the backyard). You can also turn it by a wheel on the centre pole so you can stand in one spot & fill the whole thing without having to move around & around. Growing up we used it partially as a jungle gym 😂
As someone who lived in Hawaii, I missed having 4 seasons. It's basically summer all year (which I'm not completely complaining about) but it's like a 10-15 degree difference.
Don't get me wrong, I LOVED being able to hike all year round. But I missed snow or at least cold weather at Christmas. Variation is nice for the soul.
There's nothing quite like the feel and smell of line dried sheets! Towels I prefer in the dryer, but I don't mind line dried clothes. I planted dahlias and lavender in 2 large pots the previous owner of our house left. There's about a dozen dahlias that have finally sprouted! I'm sure I over planted, but 🤷♀️. And might I say that this soap is adorable!
Ack! Radio Stars looks so pretty on this beautiful soap!! 🤩🤩 I love the sparkle of glitter so much that I can't hardly stand it sometimes. 😄
Oh I feel the same way about spring and summer ! And I think that is precisely WHY halloween and new year's eve are my favorite holidays of all. It gives me something to be excited about in the gloomiest months of the year in my country 😁 planning and decorating just keeps me going through autumn and winter
That frosted top color is gorgeous!!
My mom would hang clothes out on the laundry line when I was a little kid to save money and the clothes always smelled so clean and fresh, especially the sheets. I loved having fresh sheets on my bed that hand been hanging in the sun earlier in the day. Going right now to purchase this soap, I'm so excited to get it.
My yard is covered in ice, it's so nice to see your lovely flowers!!
This soap makes me so happy. I love the grass, I love the clouds, I love it!!
My mommy have hung clothes on a line when I was little. I have done it when camping. This soap is freaking adorable! That stamp! Love the clouds! I can see this soap used with a 🌈 and/or pot o gold for St. Patty's Day!
Katie - you need to watch Garden Answer here on YT. Laura is ammmaaazzziingggggg. She has a huge property and part of it she is building from scratch and she has planted over 5000 bulbs over the last 2 years.
So pretty!!! Also Katie you’re making me miss Texas spring, so much. I have hung clothes to dry, but never on a line. I’d love to put one up when I eventually own my own home, assuming I don’t run into any regulations against it. I only recently learned that some places in the US do not allow you to line dry laundry out of doors!
Our HOA out here in Fort Worth doesn’t allow laundry lines…considers them an eyesore 🤪
I hang mine out all the time. They smell so fresh. This soap is so cute one of my favorites for sure.
I would too is we did not have 6 months of winter where I live.
That BB fragrance also holds its scent very well in cured soap. I love it!
I live in Ohio and sunny days mean laundry line weather is ahead. So thankful for spring!
I love this bar design. It's so cute!
In Australia it's normal to put your washing on the hills hoist washing line. I struggle with chronic pain so outside clothes are either I'm having a good day or my husband put it out. Out sheets are normally hung outside. Soon I'll be doing all our winter blankets. I'm lucky my dogs don't think washing is a toy. Lol
I hang out my washing always on a line as most of my clothes can’t go in the dryer. I can’t stand it when we have rain weeks on end because I can’t dry my clothes.
I pretty much only use the dryer for towels if it hasn’t stopped raining. It’s the best feeling after a shower fresh towels from the line sometimes they’re even scratchy ooohh it’s so lovely. Cheers cherieK 🦋🌈🐿🇦🇺
The clothesline is very, very cute! Another cute idea for that soap would be a little kite. 🪁
Yes sheets dried on the like are soooo nice!
Soooo stinkin cute, Katie!! 🤗 Thank you for all you do! 😍
I enjoyed hearing that little update about your little ones. 😊
9:46 Me too! Katie!! Me too! I've been so down in the dumps and even though it's been quite chilly the last few days here (west TN) we had some absolutely gorgeous days recently!!
SO! CUTE!!!! Happy Spring, Katie!!!!
Love this! Sooo adorable! I'm sure it smells great!
Thank you for the great video 🤩. I am really excited for spring 🌼🌸🌻
so cute and I love how clothes smell after drying on the line in the sunshine
My mom grew up on a farm in Tennessee, but moved to California when she married my dad. We had a big backyard, so there was always a big garden and fruit trees and clothes line to hang our laundry out on. And she still hangs her clothes outside today. Love the way they smell.
Absolutely, I've done both. OMG those clothes are really scratchy. Thanks so much for sharing, this soap is so cute.
I love watching landscape soaps being made!
I need this in my farmhouse kitchen. Beautiful!
This is an ADORABLE soap and I LOVE cotton scents! Wish I could get one here in Brazil!!!! GREAT JOB!
I didn’t have a dryer until a couple of years ago, but it’s still really expensive to run it, so I often do a midweek laundry that I hang outside in my patio, and I hang all my clothes on the line from the moment it gets warm up until they don’t dry fast enough again. I feel like it’s good for the clothes and also very good for avoiding static on many materials. Plus the smell, as you said, divine.
When I was in college, I participated in a program for exchange students between US colleges. I went to Hawaii for 6 months and it was (and still is) one of the best times of my life!
I love hanging clothes outside in the winter. When it’s freezing and dry. It’s awesome how it feels after drying in that weather
Those are so cute and yes, I have hung many, many, MANY, clothes on the line ❤
When I was younger my mom put up a line to dry clothes. My family is from Jamaica, so most people there dry their clothes on a line. Also, when I would visit my aunt and uncle in Long Island, NY from Canada they didn’t use their washer and dryer in the summer. So, I washed by hand and dried clothes on a line. I’ve done that on my more recent trips to Ghana. Love the smell and that soap. 🥰
Wonderful introduction. Beautiful daffodils.
Katie, this is one of your best soaps in a while - amazing work!
I love the red barn and daffodils 🌸 so pretty with this beautiful soap. Def getting Bob Ross little happy clouds feelings 😍🥰 ☺️
Woke up to 4 inches of snow here in Dubuque Iowa this morning! I was able to hang my sheets out to dry yesterday! Only in Iowa! Love the soap!
Yep! Hung clothes out during the summer. Love the nature intro and outro!
You have got to go to Mrs. Lee's Daffodil Garden. Take your little ones. You will get some great pictures.
It's in Gladewater which should be an easy day trip for you.
The soap is beautiful! What do you think about placing the clouds on the sides of the frosting horizontally.
Just adorable, and the colours are perfect. My grandmother used to have an old-fashioned 'umbrella' to hang clothes from, and I agree the smell is wonderful, but the anxiety around the weather maybe less so...
The anxiety is the main thing for me. We had a line when we were kids and we came out so many times to spiderwebs everywhere! 😅
Did you know that the Daffodil is the national flower of Wales? I thought that would just be interesting for you to know!
This soap makes me think of the NES game Duck Hunt 😂. That was my family's first console when I was little.
To the question of the day, yes, my family used to line dry our clothes when we couldn't afford a dryer as a kid. I will go ahead and be the odd one out and say that I hated it. Louisiana has a humid sub-tropical climate with lots of rain and hurricanes. There wasn't space to dry them in the trailer we lived in at the time, so they had to go outside. My mom was often at work and we kids had school. Often times, the laundry was left in the rain and we'd have to repeat the process. I say again, I HATED IT!
I don't care about "clothes smelling like sunshine!" and whatnot, I like the convenience of a dryer 😂. I love my clothes just being thrown into a device that does the work for me and all I have to do is fold them or hang them up. I never want to go back to line drying ever again. Laundry no longer is this thing that I have to set aside a great amount of time to accomplish and then hope the weather suits when I need to dry things. Screw that 😓
In South Africa we still hang on lines. I especially live to hang them the day after we have to trim some of the grass from the pasture that overgrown into our yard.. The fresh smells as I get to be in the sun is always very calming
Yess!! Fantastic!! I actually have a garden now so can't wait for nicer weather so I can hang washing outside...atm it's still pretty cold and rainy here in UK
I love the fresh smell when ,laundry has dried on a line. Can’t wait to do this. It doesn’t over dry here in the uk.
I looooooooooove when you do fork textures~ I'd love to see more!
This whole design might be my all-time favorite!!
Yessssss!!! i have been waiting for you to do a clean cotton soap!!! doing me a happ!!
Favourite soap of the year so far 🩵🩵
I've never put laundry out to dry but every couple of months my family puts our blankets out in the sun for a day and they always have a warm sunshine-y smell after. Love this soap :)
Oh my gosh the kids have gotten so big!!!! I was here when will was born so I'm a little shock I've been watching you for 4 years it doesn't feel like it!
I’m loving this group of soaps
Those clouds😍
I line dry *nearly* all my laundry (except socks, don't have the patience for that) but even knitwear that needs to dry flat I try to spread out on towels outside. Just because of how fresh and clean and nice they smell! Most perfumes give me headaches, so I only use unscented detergent and can't get 'sunshine and wind' from a bottle... as a bonus I save energy and have less contact with chemicals.
Thankfully I live in a place where there aren't any poisonous bugs to worry about and this is considered normal behaviour😅
so cute, i love this soap.
Daffodils are my absolute favorite flower!!!
I have some linen sheets, and those kinda have to air dry. I'm just glad we have a big pvc pipe thingy to dry them on- it was originally intended for pool towels, but I think it got used for that maybe twice? It's just our outdoor laundry rack to me now!
This is my favorite soap you've made so far 💖
Loving the stencil sooooo much
I wish I had seen this soap back when it was available! I would have loved it!
beautiful! very poetic
The bars give me Snoopy vibes!!! Like he or his dog house would have been a great stamp
