If you actually play drums and listen to bands like this then you truly understand how utterly mind blowing this is. To get THAT close to their album sound is just incredible.
@@francoisSwine Nice question marks. How did you know I collected them? I'll add some just to put on display. ??????????????????????????????????????????
You gotta remember how much of an abnormal perfectionist Muhammed is. I've discussed this ad nauseum both in person and online but I'll never give up on repeating it any chance I get: I think he's aiming for the 20th and 25th year anniversary of "Epitaph" (2004) and "Onset of Putrefaction" (1999), and my prediction is next year we will see: 1. A re-release those albums, probably remastered and with a collector's edition vinyl/shirt/etc 2. The new album... 3. And (HOPEFULLY🤞🏾) they'll announce a new tour to promote all of the above I'm done with this band if 2025 hits and still nothing tho lmao 😢
Romain has probably the best drumming technique i have ever seen. His control over his limbs is fucking insane. He is almost effortlessly effecient in his execution, tighter than nuns bun and more importantly an interesting, smart and creative drummer when playing metal. very rare nowadays (i think anyway).
I think this guy is god damn techincal, but from all extreme metal drummers for the last 20 years I still prefer Sean Reinert. His work on Death's Human is unbelievably good. Gene Hoglan is the second. But I like this kind of "drum machine" drumming, it's pretty burtal and fits this type of mathematically constructed riffs very well.
He sat at the edge of the stage in Dallas Texas the year this was filmed and just talked with/encouraged me about how to become a better metal drummer and the discipline it requires and some excercises I could do daily. He's a real deal mode of goodness type of guy. Not to mention a legendary talent in many forms of drumming🤙🙏
His strokes are nice and high. Unusual for DM drummers. Even though he plays with super thin sticks, he's still got alot of natural volume and attack. I like it.
Romain is ridiculous. I really dislike how people discredit him because his ability is simply amazing. I graduated with a bachelors in music education with my major being percussion and this guys hand technique is just so smooth and relaxed it blows my mind. Keep up the good work!
Got to see this beast with Necrophagist on their last tour (I think), absolutely in a league of their own and Romains performance looked effortless and flawless.
It's selfish, but I really would like you guys to show up together somewhere with a new CD... soon. I'm tired of waiting :) I can only watch this so many times. RUclips will only allow me to like this once.
The fact that people still (over)obsess about Necrophagist even 20 years after 'Onset...' and beg for more just goes to show their music is pretty timeless, just like all great DM albums. I saw them live in 2006 with Bolt Thrower and was hypnotized by their musicianship and ferocity. The band members then were also chill af and friendly. I wish them all the best at what they do. Romain has done some crazy good drum work. He's a beast 🤘😎🤘
Perfect stuff. What I like most,is the fact that Romain's blast's on snare drum are equal in power as his skank beat or any other beat. You can actualy hear it. Really,a lot of practice behind this video. Just look how high his stick goes when he is playing a blast beat. Impressive as Hell!
I have watched this video at least 50 times, and i have been drumming for 10 years now and i still hilariously fail at even air drumming this, now you got clarified how fucking hard this is

I would exchange the 5 latest Dream Theater albums for just the one Necrophagist album that never was released without a problem.

George Kollias is a great drummer, for me though Romain has the vote.
Triple Thomas Haake??

As far as I know he used to be a jazz drummer, that's why he is different.
Alan Kapołka
Jazz guys are always super rad when they go metal.
That's cause jazz is the OG Devil's music!!!!

Musically genius. I understand everything that is going on, but the way it is pieced together is a technical masterpiece.
romain is one of the most underrated drummers out there
This is played so confidently it's amazing.
Love it.

hi, october, 2019, I really miss Necrophagist
Hi, I'm from Winter 2022. I'm Time Traveller who's fckin love with Necrophagist, I'm here from 14 Years Ago 🤘
Still coming back here since 2009
10 years later we are waiting for another album...
This is good and all, but can he pull of Seven Nation Army?
I'm dying right now. great stuff
lmao

Yeah, man. He's pretty good but not Meg White good, that takes decades
Seven nation army is hell of a song. So necrophagist start to play this album...........

That left hand stick height is amazing
