DKMM especially right after Zane did the impression. It reminded me of the Jay Lethal promo in TNA when he impersonated Ric Flair, and they started having a Woo-Off. 😆😆🤣
I think Vince was expecting an attack or someone who was just a hater. Brian actually had respectful questions for him, which i think gave Vince the ability to open up a bit
He's on camera, not sure how much different he would act if he wasn't but you gotta imagine he wouldn't be as cool with an interview with someone who's made fun of him in the past
Why do you think he doesn't like him? His external mannerisms and way of expression is never usually truly what they think. Vince more then likely acts like that with other people too and likes them you know
vince says zane sounds NOTHING LIKE HIM, and then russo starts talking for 5 minutes and sounds exactly like the impersonation lmaoooooo. gotta love this guy man! oops i mean BRO!!!
My housemate & I have turned this video into a drinking game. Basically you drink whenever Vince says "bro" it's amazing but we've never actually counted them lol.
+Shark Bait I Vince Russo is the same guy when there is no camera on him. Ask all the top stars he worked with in WWE and TNA. They invariably praise Vince Russo.
+Ryan Keefe Some of his opinions are a little weird (like not considering ROH professional wrestling), but his opinion on the industry is kind of spot on. WWE is, and always was, about the entertainment before the pure wrestling. Austin, the Rock, Triple H, Undertaker; all of these people made the attitude era, and it was all down to their gimmicks and entertainment factor, not their wrestling ability, the wrestling was just the icing on the cake. The story is what matters in the WWE.
He's actually rather a good sport and quite gracious. I think he's an interesting character in this respect, complex and not the horrific folk demon he's painted as. Still a very questionable individual, though.
I'm man enough to admit this... Without Brian Zane's impression and this interview, I would have never became a fan of Vince Russo! He has started to grow on me... Bro!
Yep I can understand the Differences of Jim Cornett and Vince Russo. One's Entertainment and One's Professional Wrestling. One's a Bro and One's a Mark. One's a Pledge and One's a Nerd. I love Russo and Jim.
You can not do a Vinny Rue impression without saying " And you'll appreciate this." So stoked you got him, I honestly love Wrestling With Wregret, you fucking throw down Brian Zane.
WWE gave the internet fans what they want.Kofi,Seth and Becky became champion and the ratings went to the toilet. Just because the internet fans are happy doesn't mean the majority of the casual fans are happy
+Wrestling With Wregret bro is swear to gawd your gonna love this new idea i have bro we're gonna have reigns come back bro and be involved in a story where he takes drugs on air bro your gonna love it bro and his real life wife have a miscarriage bro with no real reason then he will go to rehab bro in make reigns great again segments bro i swear to god the ratings will be through the roof bro bro bro bro bro bro..................................i swear to god
Respect to Vince for doing the interview and respect to Brian for having the testicular fortitude to go face to face with someone he had heat with. Great interview.
>Jim Cornette is in a one-way fight You can say that again. I've never understood why Cornette can't just let it go. You didn't like working with the guy, we get it. I had plenty of co-workers I couldn't stand as well, it's a part of life, bro.
Always liked Russo, and he's spot on about wrestling in a lot of ways. As much as I love a good match, there's way too much focus on having good matches for the sake of good matches, and not enough on having a believable, realistic conflict. I've always felt that WWE in particular would put the focus on the matches to cover up for their bad booking, and that's especially apparent now. Matches are about the only thing they don't really mess up.
Well its 50/50 really cause a bad story can make a story horrible and boring but then the resulting factor and match being bad can give it bad end and feel a bit awkward as it fell flat
That's true, and matches are an important piece of the puzzle, but there are a lot of things that get tossed out of the window when guys are chasing that five-star match designation. Nuances of how a Roddy Piper, a Mick Foley, or a Bruiser Brody would approach a match when compared to a Bret Hart, vs a Flair or HBK vs a Yokozuna or someone aren't really emphasized as much anymore as people seem to have this stock idea of what makes a match good and strive for that. I think that's one reason Brock really got over in 2014-15. They booked him in even-Steven matches with guys like HHH and Punk that had lots of give and take between both guys, because that's what people come to expect in great matches. But as a result, he lost some luster. But now, he's booked as the monster he truly is, and his matches are still great, but more for the spectacle of watching him destroy people than to see him try to force an epic. It's Brock being Brock -- the match comes second.
Agreed, that's why I hate the current state of wrestling. Too much emphasis on kicks and high spots, not nearly enough focus on character development, storytelling, promos, and build, which are the real draws rather than the matches themselves. It's a huge reason guys like Sami Zayn, The Revival, DIY, Undisputed Era, Ricochet, Aleister Black, even guys like Balor and Styles either flop big time or have success in kayfabe but completely fail to draw any money. There's simply nothing to them other than "oh, look at me, I can do a bunch of spots!" AND?! The average mainstream fan doesn't care how many spots and kicks you can do, or even if you're that good a wrestler. The mainstream audience cares about the personalities, storylines, and build. THOSE are the things that draw money.
Totally. And here's where it isn't fair how people treat Russo. The Attitude Era was his baby, bro. He understands wrestling storytelling, bro. Bro, I know it's fun to make fun of him, bro, but the ratings he got speak for themselves, bro.
He says at 3:24 that wrestling today is not what he grew up on in the 70s but at 5:19 he says that they went back to 1970's wrestling. He couldnt go 2 minutes without lying. two fucking minutes.
Well, to be honest, he said those things in different context. He said that wrestling is no longer about story as it was in the 70's. But he also criticized the stories now a day for going backwards into older styles of story telling rather than trying to innovate and create new more creative ways of telling a story.
I didn’t know this video existed, It’s good to see Zane’s got a backbone. You can tell if this wasn’t an interview, but a private conversation Brian would have a lot more to say. This is a really good interview, if anything I wish Brian said more of what was on his mind instead of pushing towards the next question.
"I would book it to be about the business of the business" "Lucha Underground is the company I would give a infinite budget too" Lucha Underground is one of the most unrealistic, movie like organisations around. I love it. But he really contradicted himself there
you can see why Vince Russo is a polarising figure there were moments in just this interview where I massively agreed with him and massively disagreed with him
I totally agree. When he was going on about how wrestlers don't need to put themselves at risk of injury like they are now, all I could think about was Owen Hart's accident
"Hey Zane, got a great idea. How about setup a match right now between you and Sabu? The right to interview me will be on a string with a pole on top of another pole inside an "electric" cage while blindfolded. Winner gets to interview me. Great idea, bro? Of course it is, I'm Vince Russo!"
Vince. The internet doesn't want the Katie Vicks and the Birthing of Hands. We want great professional wrestling! Id rather a 50% build and a 100% match than Vice Versa!
I know what the wrestling comunity wouldn't want:to put one of the best wrestlers on the roster in a ridicolous flashy outfit with a mask and make him do an impresive stunt high above the ring
Besides Russo the appearance of Sabu and The Nasty Boys in the background.. as well as Road Warrior Animal just walking by, being greeted by Vince.. really cool to see..
You can say whatever you want about Russo, but when he was in the business Wrestling was hot and Raw was must-see TV. Of course at some point he lost it, but I think his ideas helped to safe WWF. Cornette will always be a great historian and expert of wrestling, but his NWA crossover almost killed WWF back then.
This is the kind of thing I have a lot of respect for. Both guys know where they stand and neither makes a sudden 180 in the other's presence, and we just get a proper interview. Much credit to both, I'd love to see something long form where both guys can go into detail about specific moments and decisions on which they disagree. I hope they try to set something like that up.
+Dinastía Chow Fan Russo also wrote Terri Runnels miscarriage, Sammy the Transvestite, Mae Young giving birth to a hand, the Blonde Bytch Project, the T.I.T, Val Venis getting castrated, Big Show coffin surfing, Al Snow eating his own dog and the Brawl for All fiasco. That's not even counting WCW
Dinastía Chow Fan -- Right... he also created Viagra on a pole match, as well the famous "shoot" fiasco between Jeff Jarrett, Hulk Hogan, and himself. Nah. Russo was a mediocre wrestling writer who got lucky with the wrestling boom in the 1990's.
He made some awful decisions, but the amount of hate he gets is unnecessary, he's done some great things too, he'll give you 100 ideas and 99 of them will be bad, in WWF, he had the guy to filter out all the bad ideas in Vince McMahon, in WCW and TNA he didn't.
+Dylan Byrne In nearly every entertainment medium except books, creative is a multi-person job. Video games have multiple story writers. Magazines and newspapers have an editor overlooking the individual reporters. Movies may have only one scriptwriter, but even then, the director and producers get to insert their own ideas after the script is finished. It's not fair to blame Russo when he has no feedback on its ideas until it's too late.
+Dylan Byrne He got given a toxic locker room in WCW, and yeah he tried and failed to make himself an on camera Heyman or Vince character there, but the New Blood vs Old guys thing had potential, they just booked it really badly. I'm of the opinion Russo is a good concept guy, less a good every week booker, and he needs someone to reign him in.
Brian! This interview was great. Though, I have no idea how to feel about Vince now... I've been on the Cornette Train for years, and this interview actually made Russo seem somewhat likable... Anyway, as usual another great video man!
"I don't sound anything like that"
Yes, you do, bro.
Dan S A year before Castrating The Marks
@Dan S Look...it's a person who understands the concept of a mark even less than Vince Russo does!
He was joking to Brian, he knew that the impression was good. Bro
Surprised Vince didn't want to do this interview on a pole.
+Ladderthief1 XD XD XD
I take my hat off to you sir
+Ladderthief1 HAHAHAHAH, brilliant
+Ladderthief1 They're standing in front of a pole
+Ladderthief1 Judy Bagwell is still up there
That smirk Zane gives when Russo says "Bro" without thinking.
Which part he says it 10000 times
DKMM especially right after Zane did the impression. It reminded me of the Jay Lethal promo in TNA when he impersonated Ric Flair, and they started having a Woo-Off. 😆😆🤣
he said it like that as a joke
You can tell Russo doesnt like you a whole lot, BUT was still willing to give you an interview. Gotta give him props for that
I like both of them
I think Vince was expecting an attack or someone who was just a hater.
Vince more then likely acts like that with other people too and likes them you know
I dont see that at all. If he didn't like Brian then he wouldn't have done the interview. He didn't get paid for this.
I'd suggest a certain drinking game if it wasn't completely fucking suicidal.
Vodkas over Bros
hi
What? Drink every time Vince Russo says bro?
The most kayfabe thing in wrestling is Brian's nods.
lmao
Beast comment.
Alex Swanson extremely under appreciated comment
Genuinely laughing over here, spot on observation!
vince says zane sounds NOTHING LIKE HIM, and then russo starts talking for 5 minutes and sounds exactly like the impersonation lmaoooooo. gotta love this guy man! oops i mean BRO!!!
He doesnt sound exactly like him......bro.
Man, Vince was joking. He liked it. Otherwise he wouldn't gave Zane the interview at wrestlecon.
Well, at least Russo has a sense of humor about himself, lmao!
Really? He seems to be offended by impersonation, no self-irony here.
If he was offended, I doubt he'd do the interview in the first place.
Russo blocked Brian
@@KasumiRINA the interviewer messed it up with bros constantly, it looked pretty obvious he was trying to make fun of him.
He said bro 39 times. I'm not even joking, and those are just all the ones I caught.
He was at 29 from my count at the end of the interview, then fucking went on a lightning round at the end and I counted 35.
My housemate & I have turned this video into a drinking game. Basically you drink whenever Vince says "bro" it's amazing but we've never actually counted them lol.
I did too. Now I need dialysis. Please send money.
You actually counted, bro?
Did you count that yaself or are over exaggerating?
Not enough "Bros" during the interview, Bro.
+HadoukenDude tried to keep count of the number of bros than got over it haha
+HadoukenDude He needs to be the manager of the Hype Bros...lol
HadoukenDude And not enough Gwads!!! (FYI, Russo, Brian's right. You NY pricks DO say it that way!!! Especially when you order CWAFEEEY!)
Bro great interview bro
Take a shot every time he says 'Bro'
WM 33 Jim Cornette vs Vince Russo "Bro in a pole match" BOOK IT VINCE.
That sounds sexual
asses in seats... or on poles 🤣🤣🤣
Vince: Bro I don’t have beef with Jim bro so maybe not bro.
3 years after wm 33 btw
Russo or McMahon?
Jim cornette has to come out of a box because anybody who comes out a box is instantly *OVER* ......LOL
Russo actually comes across pretty well here, I'd say. I know everyone hates him on principle, but he seems alright.
+Kevin Alford Because he has a camera on him.
+Ryan Songalia I agree with that I don't agree with his opinion but as long as he stays away from the business I have no issue with him
+Kevin Alford I Only ignorant people / smart marks, who think that a writer can put a multi-million dollar company out of business, hate Vince Russo.
+Shark Bait I Vince Russo is the same guy when there is no camera on him. Ask all the top stars he worked with in WWE and TNA. They invariably praise Vince Russo.

3:47 "just got a cameo from roo wario warrio animal there"
Bro I'm 55 years old bro
bro
im 5 years old, bro
I don't care what he says, that Russo impersonation was good bro.
My gawwwwwwd
lmao, says brians russo is bad, proceeds to bro like 5000 times and says dawwg
Vince Russo doesn't see how great his accent is
wait what accent... I guess coming from long island he sounds normal to me
TwistedC he sounds like Keemstar lmao I think they both grew up in New York
The way he says gawd.
Long Island accent.
Great interview, and honestly, it's probably the most likable Russo has come off in a long time.
Bro!
My GWOOOD
Brian Zane looked scared shitless the majority of the time hahaha
He was looking around and seeing if Jim cornette was gonna come do a run in
lol bro i know right bro.
Yep I can understand the Differences of Jim Cornett and Vince Russo. One's Entertainment and One's Professional Wrestling. One's a Bro and One's a Mark. One's a Pledge and One's a Nerd. I love Russo and Jim.
lol which is which
Adam Leventhal Russo Entertainment and Jim Cornette Pro Wrestling
So you love Russo huh
You can not do a Vinny Rue impression without saying " And you'll appreciate this."
So stoked you got him, I honestly love Wrestling With Wregret, you fucking throw down Brian Zane.
*SmackDown
Russo: WWE listens too much to the Internet-Fans.
In other news: Reigns goes over at Mania....
Darryl Lee after a bazillion tries.
@Darryl Lee am glad he didn't.

jesus Christ how many times did he say bro.
I really should have had a counter...
😂😂

Every time Vince say bro you have to take a shot...I would be dead after 10 minutes
That's what Vince Russo does. He has the word Bro all over his resume
Vince Russo has always looked good for his age since he stopped saving wrestling. Older than so many guys and still looking good
Oh, hey Vince
Vince Russo is definitely right when he says there will never be another talent like Stone Cold Steve Austin again.
Respect to Vince for doing the interview and respect to Brian for having the testicular fortitude to go face to face with someone he had heat with.
Great interview.
>Jim Cornette is in a one-way fight
You can say that again. I've never understood why Cornette can't just let it go. You didn't like working with the guy, we get it. I had plenty of co-workers I couldn't stand as well, it's a part of life, bro.
Yeah I am really sick of hearing Cornette's hate filled rants on Russo. Move on with your life Jim. We get it. Move on.
He ruined wrestling
Cornette is full of hate for anyone and everyone not from the 70s and 80s, basically.

I can see one of the Nasty Boyz in the background around the 7 minute mark
Zane's Russo impression is GOLD! Get outta here Russo! OH MY GAWD. . bro
Russo: "Luchadors don't get over in North America"
Me 2006: *Draping my walls in Rey mysterio posters*
Hey Russo: Mexico is IN North America!
Oh my GAWWWWD! That's the founder of the blame someone else program Bro!
lol
Lol, Brian has instant regret in his eyes.
Instant wregret! ha.
I'll see myself out.
He says at 3:24 that wrestling today is not what he grew up on in the 70s but at
5:19 he says that they went back to 1970's wrestling. He couldnt go 2

But he also criticized the stories now a day for going backwards into older styles of story telling rather than trying to innovate and create new more creative ways of telling a story.
Not really, you took out the context of both of these comments.
OMG i wanted cornette to come in from the corner and punch him like your intro hahah
Vince Russo at NXT confirmed to manage the Hype Bros.
Carlos Maldonado robbie e in tna
I love how Sabu is just hanging out in the background during the interview.
I was really expecting Jim Cornette to pop up at the end and punch Russo in the face.
Out of everything to love about this, watching Brian's face twitch during some of Vince's responses was my favorite part. Good work!
Somewhere along the line cornette is just shaking his head "I thought Zane had a better mind then that"
I tried my hardest to be sensible watching this, but after the first minute I was laughing so much.
There needs to be a counter at the bottom of the screen for how many times he says "bro". lol
Yeah bro. lol
+Big Moo Aaron Brock im gonna count now
+Joseph Wong jr Do it! lol
Bro.
Great interview and Vince came across like a genuinely decent human
The whole dominance thing from him. His shouldertouching is really eerie.
I didn’t know this video existed, It’s good to see Zane’s got a backbone. You can tell if this wasn’t an interview, but a private conversation Brian would have a lot more to say. This is a really good interview, if anything I wish Brian said more of what was on his mind instead of pushing towards the next question.
I don't agree a lot with Vince Russo, but I find him quite likable.
That's gotta be why he's gotten so many chances as a booker, his charisma must have done him a lot of favors in job interviews.
"I would book it to be about the business of the business"
"Lucha Underground is the company I would give a infinite budget too"
Lucha Underground is one of the most unrealistic, movie like organisations around. I love it. But he really contradicted himself there
Flying Cabbage lucha underground is more story and Drama oriented, right up Vince russbro's ally
Lucha Libre was always like that though, you cannot compare apples to oranges.
Brian gives a slight smile when Vince first says bro for the first time and you can see he wanted to smile but held it back
you can see why Vince Russo is a polarising figure there were moments in just this interview where I massively agreed with him and massively disagreed with him
But he's at least respectable
I totally agree. When he was going on about how wrestlers don't need to put themselves at risk of injury like they are now, all I could think about was Owen Hart's accident
"Hey Zane, got a great idea. How about setup a match right now between you and Sabu? The right to interview me will be on a string with a pole on top of another pole inside an "electric" cage while blindfolded. Winner gets to interview me. Great idea, bro? Of course it is, I'm Vince Russo!"
Is that Sabu in the background?
+Sidharth Bhaduri Yep!
+Wrestling With Wregret hey bro
I cannot believe I never seen this, I swear I am dying that he is doing an impression of Vince Russo in front of Vince Russo
This was a great interview bro, I love Vince Russo bro, this is getting a thumbs up bro, oh my gawd
I thought it was a good impression.
The fact that you did an impression of Vince Russo in front of him takes balls..... bro 😂 I still watch this to this day I love this interview
Brian's look at the camera when Russo says Junkyard Duaaaaaugs! 😂
Who's a more out of touch Vince, McMahon or Russo?
McMahon.
+Jack Nicholson Both
Classic Vinnie Roo swerve, Vince McMahon is dead and Vince Russo is impersonating Vince McMahon. Hence why Vinnie Mac appears out of touch.
+Jack Nicholson too close to tell
+Jack Nicholson McRusso.
I was surprised this interview wasn’t a casket cage match.
Can't take him seriously when he says bro
sabu and super genie in the backround! love it
Gotta love Russo. I do miss this guy.
I love how Brian's eyes glazed over every time Vince answered a question lol
Bro, I thought that impression was pretty spot on bro
From listening to him on different podcasts and this interview Vince seems like a really nice dude.
preach Russo. Great interview! i love his idea about evolving the business to make it more about the business
Him saying that doesn't sound like him it is perfect impersonation
I swear to gawd I never thought I would see this interview bro.
7:46 That look when Russo says Junk Yard DAWG lol.
Bro on a pole match... Bro
That is awesome...BRO
Vince. The internet doesn't want the Katie Vicks and the Birthing of Hands. We want great professional wrestling! Id rather a 50% build and a 100% match than Vice Versa!
+Brayden Fletcher In fairness, Russo isn't responsible for either of those things.
+Wrestling With Wregret Very true! But I also don't believe he doesn't have any heat with Cornette either lol
+Brayden Fletcher you're crazy
+Adam Domo I know lol
But i wouldn't put much stock into what Russo says, bro!
I know what the wrestling comunity wouldn't want:to put one of the best wrestlers on the roster in a ridicolous flashy outfit with a mask and make him do an impresive stunt high above the ring
Hey, it's Sabu in the background. Hi, Sabu.
Besides Russo the appearance of Sabu and The Nasty Boys in the background.. as well as Road Warrior Animal just walking by, being greeted by Vince.. really cool to see..
Russo seems like a bro... BRO
I love how Vince said "I don't say bro that much" then proceeded to say bro five times in one breath.
that's the gimmick
You can say whatever you want about Russo, but when he was in the business Wrestling was hot and Raw was must-see TV. Of course at some point he lost it, but I think his ideas helped to safe WWF. Cornette will always be a great historian and expert of wrestling, but his NWA crossover almost killed WWF back then.
"Junkyard Dawgs" Zane looks at camera! Priceless
The Vince Russo drinking game! Take a shot every time he says bro. In this interview he said it 43 times!
But seriously,Idc what creative genius Vince Russo said ,u fucking nailed the impersonation, bro!
He sounded just like him lmao
7:46
'i don't say GAWD'
*Proceeds to say DAAAWWWG*
People who give up on WWE won't go for other wrestling product? That's a good one.
All elite wrestling
Lmao as he started the interview and started talking your impersonation was SPOT ON!!!!! 😂😂😂😂
Littlekurbioh would be good at this interview. :D
"It's too difficult to focus on card games with my brooklyn accent".
This was a great interview and Russo actually made sense in many cases. Good one, BRO!
This guy isn’t as weird as everybody thinks. And Vince is cool too..
Really good interview, good to hear from both sides. Russo seems legit and makes good points about bringing back the entertainment
you know i was playing fifa while listening to this and i thought brian was still mimicing vince russo for abit
while vince was talking
This is the kind of thing I have a lot of respect for. Both guys know where they stand and neither makes a sudden 180 in the other's presence, and we just get a proper interview. Much credit to both, I'd love to see something long form where both guys can go into detail about specific moments and decisions on which they disagree. I hope they try to set something like that up.
RUSSO WROTE THE CORPORATE CHAMPION STORYLINE. Some of the best days of wrestling on TV. This man did so much!!

KHayes666 I mean but let's be honest Big Show Coffin surfing was one of the funniest things ever. Would you not want to see Jinder Mahaul coffin surf
@@ShockerTopper I was 11 in 97 and coffin surfing was funny but still stupid
Jim Cornett has heat with water for being used in water parks man
He made some awful decisions, but the amount of hate he gets is unnecessary, he's done some great things too, he'll give you 100 ideas and 99 of them will be bad, in WWF, he had the guy to filter out all the bad ideas in Vince McMahon, in WCW and TNA he didn't.
+dstebbin Exactly
I hate to agree with a MAN U fan but you're right
+Dylan Byrne He got given a toxic locker room in WCW, and yeah he tried and failed to make himself an on camera Heyman or Vince character there, but the New Blood vs Old guys thing had potential, they just booked it really badly. I'm of the opinion Russo is a good concept guy, less a good every week booker, and he needs someone to reign him in.
He was the reason Owen came down from the rafters in the PPV where he died.
He called you bro more times than you could’ve possibly predicted..
Brian! This interview was great. Though, I have no idea how to feel about Vince now... I've been on the Cornette Train for years, and this interview actually made Russo seem somewhat likable... Anyway, as usual another great video man!
Man? You mean bro, bro
If I took a shot every time Vince Russo says " Bro" I would die of alcohol poisoning
