I can't wait to get a pair of my own I have been using the astro A40 TR + MixAmp for about 3 years give or take so i know how great they are, and going to be so I can't wait until they come in the mail.
Am I an idiot or is there no power button on the new mixamp? I just got mine in today and haven’t been able to turn the mixamp off while it’s connected to my Xbox. That’s an issue because if the mixamp is on before the Xbox gets turned on the Xbox won’t recognize the mic. Ran into that tonight where I had to unplug the thing. Seems like a pretty major oversight.
I am using Sennheiser HD 660s with GoXLR it can easily push 150 ohms and with that, I enable the windows sonic 7.1 and it works great I can hear footsteps in the game and everything is clear I put my SteelSeries Pro aside and stick with my setup + I am using Shure Sm7b so I sound good and I hear everything clearly
I have the white Astro A40 with Mixamp Pro TR for Xbox One. I also have another Mixamp Pro TR for Sony Playstation. One day I noticed a loud static noise coming from the headset on my White Mixamp Pro TR, I then pluged it into the black Playstation Mixamp Pro TR and there was the same noise. I came to the conclusion that my inline mute cable was causing this noise so I just purchased 2 inline mute cables for the A40s TR. With the one of the brand new inline mute cables the static noise is still there the only way it goes away is to hit the mute button on the cable. When muted everything works as normal but I cant chat with anyone. I know it must be the headset now that the cables are fine and both Mixamp Pro TRs do the same exact thing. I forgot to tell you in my previous request that this mic static comes and goes I would say about 70 percent of the time I can chat and there isn't any static/noise. I would like to get this problem figured out wo sending in any of my hardware, due to the fact that I rely 100 percent on this headset for my Xbox One, PS4, and PC audio. If your wondering why I have a black PS4 Mixamp Pro TR as well it is because I bought the Mixamp for PS4 wo a headset for 130 and then the price of cables. So I have a fairly large collection of Astro products/wires.
If I bought the A40 without the mixamp and I wanted to connect it to my old mix amp do I need specific cables or already they come in the box with the one without the mixamp? Plz anyone help I’m stuck and thanks!

One thing about the new a40s is the mute cable is garbage it doesn't work, well not completely audio vibrations coming from the headset speakers get in and any loud noises. You'll have to buy the old mute cable to get it to mute completely not sure why they changed their old mute button cable to this new cheesey switch design. But other than that the headset it awesome.
