Eileen here is a gift for you. The best pianist on Earth, our polish pride, genius Mr. Rafał Blechcz (we call him Chopin reincarnated because he even looks like Ch. ) playing Chopin Sonata N°3. Sounds bold I know but please listen to it. Find him on better quality streams or just buy his CDs. You will not regret :) ruclips.net/video/7Nscw9XZhAU/видео.html Have fun! Try his other work too. Like this one: ruclips.net/video/WWhGzQAkvKU/видео.html (Debussy -- Claire de Lune)
I love this video and can't understand why it hasn't attracted thousands more views. Thanks once more for bringing Chopin's music and story to our ears and eyes.
Great video, didn’t know much about Chopin before watching these last couple of videos, but really interesting to learn some more. Sad that he died relatively young, seems older when you look at his portraits. Years ago I passed by the house where he and George Sand stayed in Majorca, seems that was only for a couple of years though. Will have to listen to some more of his music.
I hope you enjoy his music, Shaun! I obviously love Chopin already but it was a real treat to be in Chopin city and surrounded by so much of his music and life. That's cool you passed the house where they stayed. I think he wrote a lot of music during their trips to France as well.
He was less introverted than people think. He was into comedy acting and liked playing mimicry with his freinds. People just seem to romaticise him a lot and make him seem more inward than he actually was.
When he was invited to visit some people the hostess wanted to impress Chopin with her daughter piano playing skills. Young lady played his Minute Waltz. He complemented her by saying that it was most enjoyable 15 minutes in his life.
This is such a beautiful video. Your obvious love and enthusiasm for Chopin is infectious! I don't think that there could be better promoters than you two. I've never been to a museum dedicated to a musician, and it seemed so cleverly curated, and beautiful. Do you know the building's history? Thank you for taking us on your tour.
aww thanks a lot, Linda! It was nicely curated and they did a good job talking about his whole life's story and taking you through his work and inspiration. I know the building itself is historic but actually don't know much more - good question though! Always love when the space a museum is set in is interesting/beautiful in itself, even if you took everything out.
Charon's boat To me he was a painter. His brush and canvas was piano and music. When I and I think many Poles listen to his music we see Polish country side with golden wheat crops and poppy flowers in between woods and his heartache for lost motherland. Also you could go to the church of Saint Cross where his heart was placed, his body was laid down in Pere Lacheise cementary in Paris Polish tragic history imo is best expressed in Chopin’s the Revolutionary Etude. Gives me goosebumps
I love all kinds of composers like Mozart, Rach, Ravel, Debussy, but Chopin is the 1 i can ALWAYS come back to. I've become a massive classical music fan at 24 and i'm now 35. I've learned 6 Chopin pieces in the last year and i'll be adding many more. I just love playing Chopin.
I am planning a trip to Poland just because of my love for Chopin. Watching you get teary-eyed about listening to Chopin in that museum choked me up too. I know I'm going to get emotional when I do this. Thank you for this video.
Thank you for your nice message - sounds like we both love Chopin. ❤️ I know you will have a wonderful trip. When are you going to Poland? We've made a lot of other videos if you'd like to see more as you plan: bit.ly/PolandPlaylist In particular, this video about Warsaw has a lot more about Chopin and other sites around the city you'll want to add to your Chopin tour: ruclips.net/video/VqkRJ0E44ww/видео.html and this one where we go to an intimate Chopin concert (happens nightly): ruclips.net/video/xZAKNFGg_Dg/видео.htmlsi=2EDoVLYj57Hzi2gc
Thank you Eileen for this video. I'm here after watching the Chopin competition last month and I could feel your sincere love of Chopin. I wish I could visit Warsaw during the next Chopin Competition. Thanks again.
The part when you cried listening to the nocturnes is so touching. I love Chopin with dying passion. I wish I could play his ballade on his piano at the museum, but of course that would not be possible.
Me too! And that's wonderful you're headed there next summer. We absolutely loved Warsaw (as I'm sure you can tell from all our videos haha). Please eat at a milk bar for me! ❤️
Such a lovely video about one of my favorite composers as well. I truly wish to visit someday, it would be a dream. Thank you for sharing your venture!
you know guys, I almost cry as well. Especially in Autumn if you are abroad faraway from Poland you sound of Chopin immediately brings your whole mind to the heart of land of your ancestors..
I really enjoyed this video so much. Thank you for sharing it for those of us who have not been fortunate enough to visit Poland. I have loved classical music my whole life and Chopin will always be synonymous with beautiful piano music. You and Marc seem like such wonderful people. It is a breath of fresh air to see how you both interact together. I look forward to seeing more of your video's.
I believe the museum has a Chopin 21CD box set. All of his works (with some repetition but played on different make of piano) are in the box and period instruments were used in making the music. EURO100 for the box (as of October 2019). Could be worth checking out for the Chopin fanatic... ;)
I just want to point out that it was Chipins dying wish for his heart to be buried in Poland. His sister risked her life to fulfill his wish, as Chopin was in exile. Also his "Revolutionary Etude" was about Polish failed revolution
Also you could go to the church of s body was laid down in Pere Lacheise cementary in Paris Wiem I feel really patriotic I tend to listen the Revolutionary Etude. Gives me goosebumps.
The wall color with intricate ornamental moldings and art on ceiling is spectacular! I have no reason to believe that you weren't in your height of glory Eileen ♥️! Perhaps this "takes the cake" on the top of your travel list! That photo is picture perfect 👀! Marc looks to be emulating a metal band on the keyboard 😁
hahah I'm glad you saw his keyboard skills at the very end of the video! ;) I guess he was inspired by the museum...! You're right that I absolutely loved visiting here. Chopin's name is everywhere in Warsaw and I don't mind a bit!
@@EileenAldis you should have your pic taken in front of everyone of his names .. if you haven't!! Have a book made strictly of .. titled "Chopin" . It would be humorous when one opens it! 😉

He composed later the "Revolutionary Etude" inspired by his anger and sadness after the fall of the uprising. Also Russians destroyed his piano in 1863 (during the polish January Uprising against Russians) while rifling the Zamoyski family's palace and a polish poet whose name was Cyprian Kamil Norwid wrote a poem about it "Fortepian Szopena" - it's from this poem: „I znów widzę, acz dymem oślepian, Jak przez ganku kolumny Sprzęt podobny do trumny Wydźwigają… runął… runął… - Twój fortepian! His etudes used to be played by the pianist at silent movies back in the day-they were used for the sentimental bits such as Chaplin's The Kid
