It was really great to see all you guys laughing together and clearly having a blast! That infectious fun is what drew me to the GCN originally!
YES!!
i really hope that the Starfinder 2e is recorded and posted, A&A is still my favorite campaign you've all done
As mentioned on the fod, that is a Gen Con show. So while it will not be recorded by the GCN, it may be streamed on the Gen Con channel. Fingers crossed!
Studio Fod is the best Fod ❤
I'd love to see more Francis!! I know he's busy as hell behind the scenes but seeing him in Cyberpunk Red was AMAZING! Love you guys and love the studio fod
I love the in studio Fods
Matthew pointedly not using a coaster is so classic Matthew.
Love the in Studio fods, nice to see Mathew and Skid aswell.
GCN primarily running pre-written stuff feeds into the tone and spirit of the network, which is to watch people play the games that we the audience also enjoy playing. They're essentially playing the same games as we are playing, beholden to the same rules. Going back to Giantslayer I remember there being this tone of reverence whenever a notable location or creature or spell made an appearance, the same content we've been enjoying for years in our own home games. It's content FOR players, BY players.
These fods in studio/with the others are always a treat! Fun times all around. Very excited for tomorrow!
I see you Matthew playing those drums!
I really, really enjoy these in studio Fods with a larger group. I'd honestly rather have less frequent Fods, but have them all in-studio. Like, if they were once a month, covering the past 4 eps, with 3-6 cast/crew members, that would be excellent. I like that they covered mostly "behind-the-game" stuff, with a small smattering of "behind-the-business" thrown in, rather than the other way around. This is what The Fod should aspire to be all the time.
I'm running a 2e version of Giantslayer cuz I listened to you guys with it. Listening to a full story of it helps me write my characters deeper into later parts of the story.
Nice!
@@TheGlassCannon The funny thing is that the lily pad room wasn't too bad for my players since converting it made me actually balance it lol
Love the Fod!! Thanks for the group fod! you guys rock.
I can only attribute missing loot to the same reason that the gang is pushing past exploration activities.
"We are recording a show, are we really going to stop to root through dead bodies constantly?" So far the answer has mainly been no.
Loved this week EP and fodder
If you have the time the Adventure Path panel at latest Paizocon goes into the history of the Adventure Paths and was really interesting to hear from the staff themselves
Love love love Scott Dorward!
APs are great. A professional story, well written, and in a fairly linear order. Absolutely nothing wrong with them. There is a huge misconception that homebrew is easier and better but let's face it; Homebrew is mostly only great to the author of it and maybe the players but most players really only their to invest in their character and not your story. Also most people aren't as great as they think improving an entire campaign. So much work goes into homebrew where one could just read an AP, make minor tweaks, very little improv, and be ready with a professional story enjoyed by millions in a few hours. Nothing wrong with APs.
I think it’s a Christmas feat.
MORE ROB AND ROSS LETS GOOOO
Love me some studio FOD
I would love to run one of those old Paizo 32-page modules for the GCN boys. I know of at least three of them that are right up Skid’s alley of interest.
I look forward to Tuesday night, when I get to watch FOD at midnight as my eyes close to the dulcet sounds of the original crew
I am so appreciative of the insights given into GCP content creation and game play, its really given me confidence to keep trying as a new GM across different systems.
I see such genuine effort for the show to commit to actual ttrpg honesty of how games function realistically with all the.... Robust discussions that happen.
I've binged the OG GCP a couple of times and the spirit of the show still feels true to its core for me.
Also, not sure if it's just me... ALL of you are looking FIT!
Hold up a moment! Did Matthew not use a coster for his cold beer on a wood table?
Matthew living the dream of tenure in a fantasy world
I find that you run APs an added value. If i want to run them myself i can look at what kind of hijinx my might players get up to and how the GM played that NPC or ran an encounter in general. I also enjoy reading along and in some cases has bought an AP just to read along as we go. Dead Suns was the most recent one that i bought and i dont know if ill ever run the starfinder intro box i got from humble bundle so why buy the AP if not to get extra enjoyment from the show? Its kind of like reading the book after you have seen the movie to get the dvd extras
Its a bit like paintjob on miniatures, its fun to see what someone else did with the same mini. What choices they made compared to you
Raise your hand if you hope the gang can save Hubert. ✋
Re: Pathfinder vs D&D adventure writing, I think Joe got CLOSE to mentioning my point, but stopped short when Skid told his anecdote. I think Pathfinder have more reason to write "better" stories, because of their license. Unlike D&D they're basically 'giving away' their rule set, so they make their money on getting people to buy their adventures.
D&D on the other hand, you want that shiny new class/subclass? You want that new expansion material? Well you're going to pay for it. So there's less pressure to make money on successful modules as it's spread over different "types" of books.
In Studio Fod Jawn!
I like how youtube gives me the option to translate your sentence to English haha. ("In Studio That's Right!" if you were wondering.)
A founders fod!
It may be that Hubert can actually fly!
There's nothing in the rules that says a flying hedgehog can't play basketball.
The cliff around the quarry is 15 up. The tower the barge goes to is 40 feet up. Map is fine, Troy just cant read 😊
Just came from the episode. When they started talking about jumping I was pretty sure it was 30ft, went back, Troy says "like 30 ft tall". Was waiting to see if anyone caught it or if it slid under the radar. Glad it wasn't caught because that ending was priceless. Came here to see if they discussed it and looks like it still hasn't been caught.
This is also the only comment I've seen addressing it, none on the episode and the only one here.
I'd like to see an updated to PF2 version of The Shackled City released to us and see the gang play it.
We want Jared and VTM
Can yall come to Cleveland next year?
Hewbert Hedge will for sure be back a la Jack Sparrow. The real deal is this though. If there’s still unsold Gauntlet tickets, bring out the hedge. The people will come.
Does anyone else feel like the crew doesnt like talking about the episode(s)? For me it feels like they take thier time with the news and listener mail but spend like no more than 10 minutes on what actually happened.
This is the fod, not the ep my friend
@@prosocial_lad I know that but wasn't the point of the fod to get a breakdown or talk about what happened in the episodes and give us a behind the scenes look at how Troy does his things? Get a look at how characters are made and whatnot.
It sounds like they are multiple episodes ahead. So they probably are just trying to not spoil things we haven't heard yet
For rules on the fly i try to make quick judgements and then pass off the actual looking up the rules to my resident rules lawyer and if I error bad enough it affects the current encounter i might retcon it if possible but otherwise I'll know for next time. Joe does this quite well. I applaud you Joe. I am my games resident Joe. 😂
Great fod! Honestly disagree that being able to read an AP while listening to the podcast is a bad thing. You have to go pretty out of your way to do that, and if they want to know that's fine in my eyes. Letting the listener choose the value of being surprised or not is the right way in my mind.
Also not doing APs would lose a lot of value for me. I love most of the shows, but there's an awesome experience in playing an AP and then finding a podcast about it. Listening to another party go through the same adventure in their own way elevates the show a lot more than someone who hasn't had that experience might assume. It's part of why I loved the Giantslayer campaign so much.
Wait....did I miss something?....why does troy look jacked?
Hubert now has to grotesquely die from falling so that Troy can really subvert expectations and make them feel the full guilt of his death.
Can we get a t-shirt: Sydney's Mic Smells Like Cheese
More Marvel Multiverse RPG plz
So Kate technically may have killed Hubert 🤔
@The Glass Cannon Network. 2 weeks in a row with no "Why Troy is an @$$hole segment?" What gives man? 😂
Por que no Kate y Syd?
They probably had other things to do and couldn't be there for this!
@@JacksonOwex Bit of a founders FOD i suppose. Sweet to see different formats for them.
Who is this illusive “John” that keeps coming up?
Skid - is there a way to chat with you directly?
All I can say is, Lanny McDonald
Anybody know what "blatantly obvious" treasure they overlooked? Clearly I missed it too!
Bolan's staff
What, what actually happened with Hubert isn't important. What's important is what the group SAYS happened with Hubert. watch?v=5rt8qB5yOPI
