- If you've never worn glasses before, it's tough to know if you should be wearing them. Symptoms can include blurriness, a veil over your vision or spots in your eyes. But there are hidden dangers that have no symptoms that you should definitely be concerned about.

Today I tried my friend's glasses for a laugh... Then, I realized I could see clearer...
omg same
Idk why but I can see through anyone's glasses. I've tried everyone's even those with really bad eyesight and I can see perfectly fine. My vision is good without glasses though. Should I be concerned?
I put on my sisters old glasses as a joke and could see way clearer
same
Ugh!!! Imma do the same to my glasses friends. Bruh i will look even uglier in glasses. I cant see things from far properly. It feels like my eyes cant concentrate from far.
step 1: everything is blurry
now you know you need glasses
ikr ?
that's not how it works for everyone
I can't really see far things. Do I need glasses? When I see them, it looks like double or something. It's very difficult too see.
CallMeh Yap yes but not a heavy prescription like me
oh if they are double you probably need bifocals
Me : Mom I think I need glasses-
Mom: ITS BECAUSE OF THAT DAMN PHONE!
• get in the boat • omg same like I can’t tell my parents I need some if I do they’ll kill me, so I gotta keep suffering
Accurate statement.
@@sunghoon9188 same i didn't tell my mom for 3 months my vision got so blurry but 2 weeks ago i suffered from a bad headache around my eyes and eyebrows area for almost 9 days then i couldn't help it i told my mom first thing she said was GO AND USE PHONE ITS BECAUSE i told u so many times not to use that thing all night long 😐😑
piece of shit it’s not that easy to them tho I’m scared
Lemme clear it for ya even if you wear glasses your vision will get worst until you are 20 ok it doesn't matter if you wear or don't wear but studies show that myopia progressed faster in them who wore glasses than who didn't so yeah
*has glasses and watches this anyways*

How many finger am i holding up?
Im NOT BLIND
ikr i hate when people ask me that lol
Oh my lord it’s so annoying when people ask me that 10 MILLION TIMES A DAY😂
I don’t wear glasses, (yet) but they’re like hOw mAnY fInGeRs Am I hOlDinG
Well because you said finger the question is not really a question it’s because you said finger it mean you have 1 that means your only holding up one if you mean what you said. So that question is not hard at all. If anyone was paying close attention to what he or she was saying they would have automatically got the right answer. If you meant to write fingers it’s ok but I had to explain how you could get the answer without even seeing you.
Who i hate it when people say what am holding up
I have a story actually, in grade 4 all the cool kids started getting classes, and I really wanted a pair so I'd be classed as a cool kid and impress my crush. I pretended I couldn't read anything close up, so my mum took me to the opticians and I ended up getting eye drops and long vision glasses.. the glasses effected my eyes and now I can't see anything far away. I'm now awaiting short vision glasses.
OMG i tried that but my mom doesn't believe i actually need glasses i only wanted them cause my friend has them!
when wearing glasses your lens will blur and your normal eye will blurry when you remove it I need glasses but I need another solution to solve this without glasses
Poppy Barker worth it tho.
Poppy Barker 😂 when I was in 4th grade it was suuuuper uncool so when I had to get them I never wore them and my teachers kept asking my mom why she hadn't gotten me glasses cause I was squinty and had to sit right in the front and my mom was pissed because she kept getting notes sent home haha I eventually got annoyed that I literally couldn't see anything unless it was 12in from my face that I gave in. They still weren't cool though till like high school. Contacts were my saving grace lol
Poppy Barker cool

I can't see words from a distance because it's blurry and I have to squint at the board in school and the words are still blurry my friends can also see the board perfectly fine when I'm just over here asking them what's on the board
Mimi Pancakez I have the exact same thing I think I need glasses
Mimi Pancakez I can see everything except for words or text...
Mimi Pancakez I used to have that problem. For 5 ish years :/ at first I thought I wasnt the only one the. after a while I realised I had a problem but I was way too scared to tell anyone, so I just asked people whats on the board or copied their work :/, I don't know why I was so scared, I have glasses now though, I've had them for over a year
Me too, I sit at the very back
I remember when I was in 6th grade and was too shy to be in front of the classroom and the teacher will tell everyone to move up if you can't see all the people who could see would moved up and it would be no room for me so I was sit in the very far back of the class acting like I could see and shit when everything was blurry I didn't learn a damn thing in sixth grade now in 9th grade I'm in a lower class I didn't get glasses until 7th grade
I can see perfectly I just can’t make out words far away...
Evan the Great thats why i wear glasses

Me too just that I cant see words close to me....
same i can see everything but when it comes to word or signboard i cant see it clearly lol

**forgets to wear glasses to school one day**
Teacher: **calls on me** can you read the text on the board for the class please?
Me: *Oh shi-*
holy shit thats relatable
Same! I forgot my glasses and cannot copy anything from the board😂
Luckily my teacher was nice enough to let me sit in front/ near the board because I forgot my glasses
Why Do People Forget Their Glasses Even Though Its Needed And You Can Actually Notice That You Are Not Wearing Glasses Except If Its Just Missing, Broken Or For Fashion. Mines like 720p and apparently I need glasses.
Went to an eye doctor, they said I needed glasses. I was like why I can see perfectly fine, and then I get them and I’m amaze how clear everything looks.
OMG SAMME! I didn't know it's that bad I still feel sorry for me even tho it's been a month since I start wearing them

Do endmyopia instead. You probably had pseudomyopia and now you’re getting real myopia
Same! Once the lady put a lens into that frame which they keep in eye tests, I was like, Man!! I mean I could clearly read the letters on that test screen without glasses but once after putting those lens everything was sooo clear.😮
@@Maddie05007 Dawg wtf was that for? Now when you take them off, it will start to actually get blurry, and then they’ll increase the prescription more, you’ll get more lens induced myopia, etc.
Or just don’t wear them and just try seeing further, which is called active focusing
I never noticed how bad my eye sight had gotten until I got glasses.
Mom: You don’t need glasses! You should be happy you don’t need them.

U forgot what my mom said "ITS CAUSE U USE THAT COMPUTER"
That is what happened to me but it was both of my parents
Lara_ 5253 my parents (even grandparents) knew it was genetics. Everybody in my family that is over the age of 18 (I am the youngest in my family tree to have glasses) has glasses
@@nonbinaryfirefly5792 The same thing, my parents have glasses and my older brother and sister also wear glasses, and when in the 5th grade they checked their eyesight at our school, it turned out that I could see badly too, and my mother and I went to the ophthalmologist who prescribed glasses for me.
I came to this video to see if I need glasses but I'm still not sure, here's a explanation on what's happening to me. I could be sitting watching tv, youtube, in class reading, and ill be sitting there totally in focus then my eyes go blury and i have to refocus some how. I am leaving this comment so I can have someone tell me if I need glasses
Nick Mathews yes this has happened to me for the last while I went to the eye doctor and I was diagnosed that one eye is need sighted and the other is long and now I have glasses and I am seing an improvement. xx
Lolster thanks I'll try this
Nails for life! thanks, if the other guy who commented his trick doesn't work I guess I'll have to go to the eye doctors
This is actually quite normal. You know how cameras unfocus then refocus again? Thats kind of like our eyes. I'm not an eye specialist but as far as Im concerned you dont need glasses. I hope this helps.
Nick Mathews u don't need them.i didn't know I needed glasses until my mom noticed me squirting my eyes every time while I was watching tv so she took me to the doctor and now I have glasses.
I've never had glasses before, but today I went for a check up at the opticians as my friends had been bugging me to and I figured it was probably for the best (I've been moaning to them about not being able to see things for a while now lol). I've had above average vision all my life so I thought I'd just need eye drops or something. And then the dude put that lens machine thingy in front of my eyes. Fuck me. That's when I realised how bad my vision had got over the past two years, without me noticing. I forgot how clear images could be. Myopia.
Glasses are being made up right now, heh.
roadregu same happened with me! I was bugging my parents that I can't see properly but they every time dismissed me that's for like 2yrs and then my eyes were starting to hurt real bad i could not focus in sunlight and tears came like all through the day so finally i came to an eye doctor and he said applied these glasses on my eyes and boom! 😂 i literally bulged my eyes bc the colors seemed soo different. they were literally so bright
Alina Gohar ahh, yes! I noticed how vibrant colours became too - I'd never even seen greens like that before! I have moderate astigmatism too so everything just became muddy and blended into each other. My headaches just disappeared too. Haven't had one since. I'm in love with the world at the minute.
roadregu Same, I couldn't see so well and my friends were literally at me saying I need to see an Optician, I finally go and I assumed I'd get eye drops too since no one in my family wore glasses and I've been having perfect sign for a good while, then my optician gave me test glasses to see if I could read a screen and BOY did I have no idea how HD the world was
moved account what’s your “prescription”? You CAN IMPROVE YOUR VISION. check out Endmyopia.org XD
How old are you?
As a person with glasses there was situations where my friends commented on my sight saying that they saw things I couldnt see, so thats like how I understood that I was nearsighted. Ask people and compare is the easiest way in my opinion to find out if anything seems weird and sketchy about your sight.
That's how I found it! I got minus 0.75 glasses
Just do endmyopia instead
@@k.f.r6674 you literally just had a ciliary lockup. Get rid of it by looking further and doing active focusing and mot spending time up close on screens and books
And just do endmyopia
Also, never wear your glasses up close (closer than your blur horizon, so for you, that’s a meter and a third) because that really messes your eyes up
@@nabranestwistypuzzler7019 now it's 1.75 😓. Can't do without glasses anymore
i always had perfect vision, then when i was around 12 i noticed that my vision was getting worse i couldn't see things further away so in around a year i went from perfect vision to .75 short sightedness
Same situation here. Im 13 btw.
Im 11 and i have 325 astigmatism in my glasses and 200 Farsightedness, life is great with online class (p.s our online class is 4-5 hours monday-friday and its been 2 years since i started xd)🥴

I’m 12 rn and things aren’t getting worse but I can’t focus my eyes. Everybody else in my family has glasses and I think I am gonna need them too.
Same bro...that's freaking annoying.. Doctor told me to wear it all the time
I noticed that there was something wrong with my vision since my late 11's I thought it was normal but until I started getting terrible and I told my mom they did a preliminary on me and it said I had 20/20 perfect vision. but when I went to the eye doctor I was noticing it was pretty hard to read the boards on the screen they were also double too. Then the eye doctor said I had a stigmatism in needed glasses. I was too excited cuz I've always wanted glasses. 🤓🤓
Almost the same case except that I was blessed with 20/20 vision all my childhood it only started to get worse in my 20s.
Now I have 20/20 left and 20/40 right eye vision.
Omg I have astigmatism too! I thought my vision was normal but when last year I noticed that something isn't right. Although I can still see thing far away but not texts, especially the small ones. I couldn't tell my mom about it since she's gonna blame it on my phone even though I don't use it that much (and I sleep really early soo...) I'm just gonna wait till I grow up to tell them so scolding me would be useless (lol)
But hey, at least I'm doing things to take care of my eyes and hoping I'll improve.
@@barebarekun161 now I have around that amount in both eyes
@@aplant2133 Same it just started out as headaches and eyestrain coming up all the time
I'm 44 and have and still have 20/20 vision. No nearsightedness or farsightedness.
In my 30s I started developing a mild astigmatism in both eyes. The doctor gave me a mild prescription for glasses. I didn't need them, but they helped make things just a bit clearer.
7 years later the astigmatism had doubled in both eyes, and I now need to wear my glasses. Still no nearsightedness or far sightedness, or even much of the "old age eye syndrome" I don't need reading glasses if I have my astigmatism glasses on or hold the book close. Might need a reading lense added someday. Dr. says I'll probably never need lenses for nearsightedness or farsightedness, but the astigmatism will probably keep getting worse.

I am a digital artist and recently I have been noticing that I see things a bit blurry and it's actually a noticable change, but I am waiting for the quarantine to get over.
I am now 37; I did have myopia in the past and had to wear glasses, but THANK GOD in 2019 I had the surgery (femto-lasic), and now I can see in the far distance much, much, much better without glasses than b4 the surgery. This has greatly improved the quality of life. With the surgery plus all the eye drops required after that it all costed me about 1560 USD (at the conversion rate of the month of surgery). I believe it is totally worth it!

I can't see the board. It's blurry when i sit in the middle (my assigned place), and I'm basically blind if i sit further back. A girl with glasses in my class let me borrow her glasses, and instantly I could see. No fuzziness. Today I have an optician's appointment.

I really started noticing I couldn't distinguish words or numbers/prices up above on a sign without squinting or in a few cases just guessing the digit lol (5,or 8 or 3 usually) so yea I finally went in to get my eyes checked . During the test I noticed I had to close one eye at times to rely on the stronger eye . Results were Not as bad as I figured but she said I needed to use the glasses more often and not just as needed for night driving etc as eye drs said in the past .

I’m near sighted and I remember in sixth grade, my friend finished his Julius Caesar speech and he did a great job. I was a little less than 20 feet from the board and I said to him in front of the whole class, “Daniel, I really like your presentation. Sounds like you worked really hard on memorizing it. I like how you used the board but I can’t tell what it says because my vision is terrible.” I got glasses a week later. About my speech: I had a panic attack in front of my class

All these hours of staring at my phone and laptop for school is probably why my once 20/20 vision is now like at 13/20
For whatever reason I can see clearly with or without glasses. I don't have glasses and do very well on eye tests. I've tried my moms glasses and my gfs glasses and my vision might go blurry for a moment when i choose a point to focus on then adjusts until I see sharply. They would just make things look zoomed out a bit. Stronger glasses might be a different story though. Dont know how well I'd do on a vision test with them on but for me things were pretty sharp. But for years now I've begun to have some visual disturbances like visual snow and perceptual changes and my vision is just full of extra noise but I still do well on vision tests, with both eyes and with either eye closed.
As soon as I clicked on this I got a lenskart commercial, coincidence or what?! 😂
My Daughter is 10 years old and she said 1 month ago ( late September) she could not see small words far back, like me and my mom. I said she may need glasses and she was ready to cry but asked me if we could see if she really needed glasses, so I took a cardboard box and wrote a word, she went up close and was ok, she went a little bit farther and was kind of ok, then she went farther and couldn't see so I said look at the neighbors pumpkins and said can you see them, she said no, when I take ny glasses off I cant see them either but when I do have them on I can see fine, so I said that we will go to the eye doctor in a week, and she cried. Here I am feeling bad because of my kid may need glasses watching this video. But im surprised she said kinds of glasses she wants so maby she getting better. Tomorrow we are going to the eye doctor. All thanks to this video! :)
When you already have glasses you still watch... 😂
welp, after two years of thinking this is normal, i go on wednesday to get my glasses😂
So you thought you could see normal but in reality you needed glasses?
I don’t know why but I keep questioning my eyesight. I will sometimes find it very difficult to focus clearly on certain things. Usually screens are the worst but it can happen in other places too. I have a teacher who seems to be writing small to the point I’m not sure what he's writing on the board. I am also not sure if having a small focus point is normal. Basically, if I do need glasses, it would only be making easier what little bit I do struggle with. However, I might just be paranoid or not getting enough sleep or something. I don’t really know. I haven’t had a proper extensive eye test done probably ever. All I’ve ever done was the E chart and that was last done properly a few years ago.
Omg same
I have always had eye problems with congenital cataracts, nystagmus, microcornea, aphakia, and glaucoma. I have to take for eye drops for glaucoma to control my pressure so I don't go blind. I've been to the eye doctor a lot as a kid to an adult. I will always need to go to the eye doctor because I have glaucoma and I have to keep treating it and making sure it doesn't progress and take my vision.
I tried my grandpa's glasses, it was so clear to me like I could see better. I was really shock at that time.
I think you grandpa has presbyopia glasses but presbyopia only affect those who are 40 or older
I'm going to get my eyes checked in a few days. Both of my parents needed glasses, but my mom got a surgery on her eyes so she doesn't need them any more. So eventually I knew I would need them. I can't see anything that well even if it's just like 4 feet away from me. If it's 6 feet, then I'm as blind as a bat. And my eyes are constantly hurting.

Yes and also one of the most misdiagnosed/miscalculated things is the whole medical field is the dioptre. So we go see an ophthalmologist, they observe our eyes through a device, and 80% of them (at least) do not give;
a) enough time for your eye apparatus to adapt
b) different amounts of time for each of your eyes to adapt,
resulting in a very wrong dioptre. And this is just one of the reason why you get prescribed eyeglasses which do not actually correct your eyesight, but in fact worsen it. So you go again after the 6 months and similar thing happens... and so forth into the vicious circle.
Ironically one of the worst environmental influences on your eye sight are corrective glasses.
Save up for a laser surgery, or for a couple of top notch ophthalmologists who are confident enough to charge you like 2000 pounds for an eye exam. Because these people know if they get it wrong they can get sued up to fourth generation of their successors (a hyperbole, obviously) and will thus do anything humanely possible to accurately access your visual acuity. They will also be more than likely to have the top notch medical equipment which involves minute human engagement, on both sides (Dr and the patient) which eliminates subjective biases that ruin the diagnosis.
So If you can't belt it, just keep going on checkups to make sure your retina's ok and in place, and that you don't have the Glaucoma or some overt infection. Glasses don't seem to "comply" to the "Primum no nocere" guideline the wast majority of time.
I've been to an optician and she told me that i need glasses even thought i passed the eye test and i didn't had problems reading or reading from the board, i went to a new doctor and she told me that my eyes are fine and that i don't need glasses.
I look at something and when I look at something else immediately it takes me like 10 seconds for it to focus correctly, and i can see everything fine, just not things from far away at all
I have -4.25 vision. I can't see shit.
-4.25 is not that bad, mine is almost -7 and i'm 13 lol
That sucks. I'm only a few years older but mine was not nearly as bad back then. Still, I have to be roughly less than a foot to see everything on the TV, and I've adapted to playing sports with my vision (just looking at the shapes) but depth perception is really hard to grasp without my contacts. I can't imagine having -7.00 vision
Pusheen the cat you can improve your vision, check out Endmyopia.org .. it’s never too late. Mine was like 7.75 ._.
Christian Bennett I have -2.75-ish
2.75+ in one 1 eye im 12 lol
I was in denial that I had vision problem for years, I just recently had them, now I can say that wearing glasses isnt that bad at all..:3
I am literally so thankful to have perfect vision.
How to tell if you need glasses: YOU CAN'T. Just go see an eye doctor. The fancy name for that is "visiting an ophthalmologist".
Yeah, thanks for the info, TECH INSIDER!
I normally have a small black dot fly past my eye and I normally strain my eyes a lot

But they just go away when i blink and then come back days later maybe and then i blink againg hahaha
I agree with the part where he said that most people would start needing glasses in their 40s. I'm 41 and I'm about to get my first pair of glasses.
I tried my moms glasses on as a joke then I realized I could see much better and I didn’t wanna take them off-
Quarantine got me noticing things that I never even knew existed
I blink when I’m outside ITS BLURRY EVERY WHERE stays for like 7 minutes then stops then I’m sweaty so I put water on my face like 1 minute ago it’s blurry and i see rainbow on my words I’m writing now dr I forgot your name sorry please comment if I’m color blind or blind
I'm going to a eye doctor today because my vision flashes at one side and it blurs so badly I get a headache
I'm only a teenager, thanks for helping me not sound dumb in there
How's it now
Honestly, I want glasses cause it is so sharper when i try them on cuz I gotta lean toward the board at school or go up to the board to see what's on there :p
I think I might need glasses, I even have trouble seeing big text sometimes
me watching this while wearing my new glasses: 👁️👄👁️
What if it is not blurry but it makes you feel dizzy or makes you feel collapse??
Holy crap. I have trouble reading the board at school and I also have that weird flashing lights at the corner of my eyes! I always thought it was just normal or my eyes are just having trouble focusing. So does this mean I need glasses?
*edit: hi yes i just got my annual eye checkup and it turns out my right eye has a terrible astigma (167 out of 180 or something) and my left eye is just gradually loosing distance. the astigma on my right eye is from a injury i have gotten a few years ago! anyways i finally just now bought my first pair of glasses and i can finally see far awayyyyy 3/31/22*

I went for an eye test yesterday then after that I saw that I needed power and I got the power of -2.25 and I was like I can finally see and no one believed me untill my teacher told my parents I could not see the board
I'm so scared I might get blind . coz non of my family members take me seriously. I'm just confused on the way I should tell them so they can take me seriously.
I need glasses, but ignorant insurance company, not a eye doctor, decided I don’t need them because my eyes aren’t severely jacked up.
This video kinda helped me, this morning i couldn’t read the time on my computer, that’s when I started getting concerned.
I got glasses and my parents are pissed off someone please help me they blame it because of my phone 😭😭😭
