This E-Bike acts like a MOTORBIKE: Engwe EP-2 PRO Review

- This E-Bike from Engwe, the EP-2 PRO, has oversized tires, a powerful 750w electric motor and is foldable, which makes it an e-bike, but acts more like a motorbike! More info: s.click.aliexp... or amzn.to/3rKcjYi
The ENGWE EP-2 Pro is one of the best and coolest e-bikes I’ve tested here on this channel. It does many things right. It included mudguards, great built quality, powerful motor, breaking is good and I’m happy to see that there’s a nice taillight. Thanks to the wide tires, the ENGWE EP-2 Pro offers surprisingly good handling, even on rough terrain. Of course, there are also some points of feedback, such as the tricky placement of the lock, the lack of fixation when folded or the unsightly cable management from the handlebars to the fork, but those are all small things compared to what you get in return. The positive impressions outweigh the negative ones easily. The most tricky thing might be that it’s not legal in some EU countries.

These bikes overall are really good. Personally I think the headlight is inadequate I had a customer bring one in into my surprise the only stupid thing that I found to be on this bike is that you have to disconnect the rear motor from the controller which means you have to remove the controller to get to the wires to disconnect it. So to save the customer money in the long run I denergized the controller cut the motor wires and added a 9 pin Bufang hygo system, because most shops do not want to change a flat that is not easy on an electric bike if they even touch it at all. At least this way this customer has more of a chance of other shops touching it. Because now you can simply just disconnect the high go system to replace the tube or Tire.
Lol, you know there's a 9 pin Julet plug next to the hub motor right?
Costomer service is really bad
Costomer service replies ones a day.
You cannot call them, only email.
They dont do refunds, which is against the law, and if you still demand money back, they refuse, which is theft. Maybe the bike is good, maybe not, i don't know, all i know is, it is not worth the wait. The costomer service is one the worst i have ever encountered. Don't buy here, save yourself the trouble. The reason why it says "lifetime costomer support" is probably because they never fix the problem and it takes them a whole day to respond.
Recieved my bikes damaged in mail. Boxes looked like hell. Charger was damaged on the black one. Tryed to work with engwe and only willing to give 20 for damage to fenders, wheels, and derailer cages. Not willing to give a good discount and offered return but 25% stocking fee. Tryed to dispute on card and failed. Please don't buy from this company.
Did you buy on Aliexpress? I ordered one also and are not to confident that it comes in good condition. A lot of people complaining about damaged goods and bad customer service. I think they should use UPS instead of DPD.
We made a purchase with the company, the product was defective and was returned. The company had promised to refund the payment amount and refuses to carry out the refund based on untrue claims.
I do not recommend negotiating with such a company or even purchasing products from the Engwe brand as it has poor quality and many defects.
It's a typical Chinese company. Cheap for a reason and that's it.
WARNING: !!!! Bought mine in 2020 so I didn't have to use public transport in London. I have ridden it almost every day, a round trip of about 5 miles, and I would fold it and keep it in my house when not in use.. Today, as I was about to head home, the frame snapped just behind the hinge. The bike is not in two pieces and nothing more than a pile of junk.
The new ones are upgraded to deal with that issue
About 5000 Miles of use what do you expect it isnt gonna last forcer and its a budget ebike 😂😂
The ENGWIE EP2 Is just what I've been looking for for a while as I've been looking for an update for a while
Thanks for the preview

You needed to higher your seat. That looked way to small for you. It's riding not driving and it's the handlebars not the steering wheel.
I don't trust a review where the saddle is down to the floor for the whole review. He can't even peddle and has to stand up to do so. A real review he would have adjusted the height to the correct height. Still want this bike but I will look for other reviews that seem honest.
Illegal in your country. It has a max of 250Watt
Hello, i’ve watched a lot of reviews on this bike, and looking to buy it? but whenever i go to the bike link, it says “250W” in the specs, what’s the matter of that.. isn’t it a 750W?
Hi, I want to buy one, but I live in the EU. Will I be able to change the speed limit to 60 km/h even though I live in the EU (Denmark)?

Hi, thanks for the review, is it legal to use this bike in the Netherlands? Thanks in advance!
Nee
@@Yusuf-ej8eh but i have seen people riding this bike in amsterdam
Which one do you think its better, this one or ADO 20F ?

Nicely made video.
If he thinks this is like a motorbike I'd love to see him hop on a Talaria or Suron. Mine has dual 1,200 watt(nominal)motors and my friends stock Suron is literally at least twice as fast and makes me feel like I'm on a turtle in comparison(mine unlocked can go 42 just throttle). Now that is like a motorbike.
I find it miserably heavy.
Hey, I've ordered this bike, it's in delivery currently but it says the package is only 9kg, did you have the same thing during the delivery?
I had this happen received mine today it has to do with shipping nothing to worry about. I must say its a serious piece of machinery
It's great till something is wrong, or shows up messed up then your S.O.L... That's all I keep hearing no customer service
Again just for the free bike these guys are putting review which they never gonna use to make fool of us.. Guys don't buy these Chinese crap before testing by yourself
I’m in Netherlands but the truth is I really love this bike but I don’t know if I should be it because , I don’t really know if this bike is even allowed without license. Please can someone help me here?
Does it work in the winter/on snow and ice?
Would the rear rack be able to handle another passenger?
There is video of some coratian guy who drives his friend aroud, but i would not reommended it because of battery drain.
I buy this, now I can’t drive it because I need registration number , to get this I need pass exams test in official car service, it’s cost money, am drive license , insurance, and I can’t drive bicycles road

some sites and videos say 120kg and you said 150kg. which one is right?
it dosnt even weigh 50kg
I think 750 watt power is not legal in Germany. Is it still fine to purchase this bike and ride it, if i decide to limit the speed of this bike to just 25 km/hr ?
Yeah just make sure it doesn't say 750w anywhere on the bike

How much range do you get with this speed?
@@carlosthejackel7581 are you still satisfied with the bike?
Is this legal in The Netherlands?
No, the bike has a 750 Watt motor with 60 NM. Just limit the bike on 25 KM and turn off the throttle. Then the bike is as good as any electric bike. The big advantage is the fact that the milage of the bike is far better then a European fatbike.
I got an Engwe Engine X and PRO. Both limited on 25 KM. The Engine X has a 250 Watt motor and is allowed within Europe. The Engwe Engine Pro has a 750 Watt motor with PAS. These bikes are both awesome 👌
@@5007erwin But if the police stop you, won't you get in trouble? What is the wattage printed on the rear wheel of the European version? 750W or 250W?
@@dtz1000 on the European version the printed wattage is 250 Watt.
Can anyone tell me when many regulations come in for these bikes, what license do I need to drive them?
And what other costs would I expect to pay?
I really want this bike but I'm nervous how regulated it will become.
Depends on your country. In the EU, you need AM licence category or higher. Other things: you must always wear a helmet and the worst thing is that you are excluded from bike routes, you can only use regular roads which is ridiculous since it's definitely a bike. Hopefully no one cares. There can be other regulations too, e.g. you cannot have a passenger or you cannot drink alcohol, again, depends on your country.
@@tguly can I use this bike in Germany without the license you mentioned
@@TTmech I don't know but I doubt it, in fact, it's possible that these kind of bikes are completely illegal in Germany. If you want to be sure, stick to the pedelec rules and choose another bike (max.300W power, max. 25 km/h speed, it cannot move by its own, only with pedals). If you do so, you can use it with the same rules as a regular bike.
@@PianoZhu

does it have cruise control?
Yes
Is it allowed to cycle around the Nürburgring?
how long can the battery be charged, is the charger allowed to remain connected, or does it damage the battery if it is plugged in for more than 8 hours.
They don't recommend to leave it plugged in for too long. It takes 4-6 hours to fully recharge. Note that the charger is pretty noisy.
