PGA supersore in Minnetonka MN USA looked at the Tour Edge E523, could've thrown a blanket over the hits... literally, but distance lacked a bit. One of their fitters came over and pulled the C523 and gained 20 yards straight out the gate and kept most of the dispersion pattern. $169 US At my home course hitting good ones 250 and great ones 270+ about 93-5 swing speed give or take a few. Thanks to you and James for the vids.
I just purchased a used but like new Calloway Epic Speed 10.5 with Tensei shaft for $190.00. I would love to have a new big brand driver in the bag but the cost are just too great for me. Buying off the used market is really the sweet spot, you can obtain great value for your pound. Great video Chris, much appreciated.
I’ve just retired and hadn’t played golf for 27 years. Just started playing again using the same Tour Editionblades and Ben Sayers Carbon King woods (1, 3, 5) I’ve had for 35 years. No forgiveness at all. I’ve now played 4 rounds in the last month and can still hit the ball 250 yards with the driver. Borrowed my playing partner’s “modern” driver this morning and hit it straight down the middle 290 and had a simple sand iron and one putt for birdie. I think I will get fitted for a new driver soon. Father Christmas will be required for a premium brand.
Still recovering from Chris Dennis is SHORTS! Bought a Cobra Speedzone at it performs just fine. I've tinkered with loft and lies but standard works just dandy. Nice review, Chris.
Please repeat the test with Dave. This would give a much more realistic indication of what your average club golfer can achieve. For me, the Eleven driver would be the club of choice. If they ever make them in left hand that is.
Ive been playing my Cobra F8 10.5 degree standard with a Tensi 50 shaft for 5 years. Think I paid a litlle over $200 for it. Shafts a little light and gets whippy if I try to stand on it but if I stay within my swing its usually a nice fade with about 240 carry.
now retirning to uk im in the market for new bats. at 57 years very old not sure if i need to step down from stiff shafts. failed year in goal to get to 0.4 as i would like to play in the seniors qualifiers.
I have the Ping G425 max 9* with the CB alta 55 stiff shaft. Set to flat so to open the toe a slight bit (stops a big hook). I would like to go to a fitter and see if a upgraded shaft would help any.

cheaper to take up bar propping😅
I suspect that a professional fitting makes more difference than anything else. I'd like to see how Dave gets on with these three clubs.
Please test the Vmax with your normal shaft and we can see apples to apples comparison
Great illustration of cost v performance. I have to accept that the limiting factor for me is ability.

I received from the wife and kids a cobra radspeed XB 10.5 degrees, with an even flow shaft for last Christmas.
Sim max 2 £249! Another level and same distances as the £500/600 Drivers!

off 1.0 today. but cannot put 8 scores in 20 together to get that 0.6 off
Highlights the benefit of proper fitting which should enable finding the middle more often?

Would like to see you lads or an average speed golfer using regular shafts in all the reviews. As regular represents the majority of golfers.
I got mine from golf clubs for cash, cobra ltdx 200 quid
299 eur in december 2023 for an ex demo ST-Z 230. Lucky me.
