Henry VIII kept Katherine of Argon and Mary separated, letting Katherine die alone, and left Elizabeth without a mother. He was so desperate for a son that he held onto the weak boy Jane Seymour gave him after she died. Katherine and Anne had the last laugh of them all. Mary became a queen that made bloody history and Elizabeth restored England to a Golden Age. It is nice that both Mary and Elizabeth rest side by side now. Mary May not have accepted Elizabeth, they were still sisters nonetheless.
@Austin Productions You aren't likely to have a miscarriage by doing that. It would take a severe act of trauma for a woman to miscarry.....such as a hard kick to the stomach or a woman taking a huge leap and landing on her stomach. It's not likely to happen as the result of squeezing the stomach. The only time that would be unwise and possibly unsafe, is towards the end of the pregnancy.
@Summer Girl Actually, you'd be surprised how much stress a woman can tolerate during pregnancy. If stress itself caused miscarriages, no woman would ever carry full term. There is speculation that Henry had a certain blood type that could affect a fetus negatively......I can't recall the name of it, but it basically doesn't mix well with the mother's blood type and the end result is often a miscarriage. Or, Anne herself had that blood type......women with this condition can often carry their first pregnancy to term, but any latter pregnancies are very difficult. Seeing as Anne had Elizabeth, but miscarried the others, there is a very good chance it was a medical issue either with her or with Henry.
@A Drunk Gorilla With a Lobotomy I think Henry is the culprit. His first wife Catherine of Aragon went through the same thing as Anne Boleyn. He finally gets the “boy” with Jane Seymour but that is only one child they had together. Jane didn’t live long enough to go through any miscarriage. However, that child Edward was sickly and died at the age of fifteen. Everyone may say this was a fluke but Henry also sired one boy with his mistress Bessie Blount during his first marriage. That boy Henry FitzRoy died at the age of seventeen. Mary was barren too and we have no idea about Elizabeth. I do think the commonality in all this is Henry.
I always thought that never marrying and letting the Tudor rule die with her was a fitting revenge on henry the 8th. He caused so much pain trying to ensure that the Tudor rule carried on.
@@Angel-nu7fm Yes...it damaged her to death. And now she wouldn't marry at all because of this. I think this is the main reason why she didn't get married
@@anneboleyn2387 I always feel sad when I hear your story, but it all paid off Your daughter Elizabeth became a great queen, now you and your daughter are calm in heaven
There was a documentary suggesting she had a Rhesus negative blood type. So after her first, almost all children would either be stillborn or miscarried
Wha... I thought it was because there was something wrong with Henry's genes. At least that's what I was told in school. When you think about it, Catherine of Aragon suffered many miscarriages, 2 sons who didn't live long, and her only surviving child actually had a disease herself which was one reason why Mary was always so miserable. Not the main reason but one reason. And Jane Seymour may have been just lucky but even so, Edward was kept away from court because apparently he was or at least was treated as if he were so fragile. And I mean he did end up dying at the young age of 15! I personally narrowed down to 2 main reasons, stress and genetics, both which were not Anne's fault, but Henry's. The thing is in that time period if a baby was miscarried or was stillborn the mother would automatically be blamed since she's the one who did the difficult task of carrying the child. Bottom line is I had no idea Anne had a disease so maybe I've always been wrong.
Let's not forget that he let his first wife, Catherine of Aragon die alone, furthermore he kept Catherine and Mary separated for years, he treated Mary like she was nothing and even when he knew Catherine was dying, he didnt let Mary see her. Such a cruel man
The feels this brings up!! To have the cross over of my two favorite shows just makes my heart so happy. In watcjing the Tudors, I went from hating Anne to loving her, to heart break for her. So to see Elizabeth in Reign seriously was my favorite! I just can't.... Such amazing work!
It’s so sad and cruel how Henry cut off his own child’s mother’s head! Poor Anne was innocent and he took her away from her daughter I hope Anne and Elizabeth are happy together in heaven
It's all really sad for the three of them. Anne stretch her power until it broke and she felt the consenquences, Henry believed himself the only ruler and was ruled by his court, all their struggles went on to their child who turned that into strength to forge England into the superpower it was. Just my opinion is all as I see it.
It's crazy to me how the actor that plays Elizabeth really does look like she could be the daughter of the actor that played Henry and the one that played Anne.
There's an old PBS series (actually produced in the UK) called Elizabeth R that you should try to find and watch. Its probably way too slow and historically accurate for today's viewers, but it's a good way to learn more about Elizabeth Tudor. Glenda Jackson plays Elizabeth. She also plays Elizabeth in the 1970 movie, "Mary, Queen of Scots", with Vanessa Redgrave as Mary. Not as accurate as the series, but probably more to the tastes of today's viewers and I much prefer the actor who portrayed Robert Dudley to the actor who portrayed him in the English series. I didn't see the recent film about Mary, Queen of Scots. The fact the character spoke English with a Scottish accent when she grew up in France was enough to turn me off. Of course, you could read a book or two!
Elizabeth is so gorgeous, I prefer Mary over her though but she’s so gorgeous and she’s a queen. She’s smart, kind, empathetic, brave, etc. she is a real queen. So is Mary Stuart but Elizabeth doesn’t deserve hate.
Henry was just wrong, He didnt know that having Edward was going to make him a King, and He was king but not for long, Anne gave birth to a famous Queen of England who will never be forgotten!
The other from the CW and is called "Reign", it's about Mary Stuart but in S3 there are also episodes with Queen Elizabeth (it's not a really historically accurate TV show but it's nice)
Bella Scerpe No, it wasn't. They were going to take time to lead up to that. But because it *was* in fact cancelled, they had to speed it up and end the series properly.
I can not believe that her head was cut of for being accused to sleep with 3 men .But on the other hand HENRY continued being king while he was sleeping with more than 4 or 5 women (actually 6 including Jane Seymour) when Anne was the only person that was being truthful to him because she didn’t even have anything to do with any man she knew
To be fair, Henry did love Anne, very much -- and despite what some accounts claim, it wasn't the birth of Elizabeth that led to Anne's destruction. Henry continued his affection for Anne, and was quite fond of baby Elizabeth: he was fond of babies and small children by nature and Elizabeth was by all accounts a delightful child. What did Anne in was that she failed to follow up that birth with the birth of a healthy boy, and miscarried an unmistakably male child two years later. By then Henry had fallen for Jane Seymour and decided he wanted to end it with Anne. Anne's enemies saw this and seized the opportunity to fill Henry's ears with accusations about her sleeping around and even sleeping with her brother. They were false, but Henry was already disposed to believe the accusations and so decided to completely destroy Anne instead of just divorcing her.
Someone (perhaps Mary Boleyn) should've pleaded with Henry to secretly send Anne away into the countryside or something and fabricate a story for everyone (eg. She committed suicide because she was "plagued by her sins") At least she would've been able to witness her daughter's glorious reign and maybe even reunite with her afterwards....a bit unrealistic but she deserved to see Elizabeth become queen
It's CW's Reign. It's about Mary Stuart but in the third and fourth seasons Elizabeth is a main character too. It's not very historically accurate at all really, but still enjoyable. It on Netflix if you want to watch.
I don't hate Anne but I don't like her either. I think everything that happened to her was a punishment from the almighty because she was really cruel with Mary and Catherine of Aragon. It was her destiny and her decisions which brought her to the scaffold :( Also some people have seen Anne's ghost beheaded and I think that's the way she's paying off her sins. God works in misterious ways so every decision you make is important! Maybe without her mother's death Elizabeth would have never been the queen we know.

Henry's only son, Edward died at 15 yrs old. Finally, the daughter of his beheaded wife was the queen. It was fair and justice.
Long may she reign... in our hearts and in the history books for dawning a new golden age upon the World.
He had another son that was not legitimate, Henry Fitzroy.. You should look him up too. He also only became in his early teens before he died.
Technically after King Edward died his half sister Mary became Queen. And her mother Catherine was Queen before Anne.
