I started going in this pub in about 1976. I only lived about 20 minutes away in wesborough walking. A couple in the fernsides and then down to the ( John f ) it was so so different and friendly! Lots of biker's, punks, students, hippies and straights. Never eny bother or fighting. Ted and sue kept everything running perfectly! I must have been in that pub 2000 times plus over the years. Especially 1976 to 2000. My favourite drinking oil of all time!! 😎👍

Used to drink there all the time; my favourite place. Used to be heaving in the 90’s and it still did have the best jukebox.
Never knew how it came to be called the John F. Heard the rumours about the club in the basement but think that was 70’s-80’s, before my time.
Ted and Sue were lovely people, it was a friendly place and a good rock community.

The amount of pubs and clubs that have disappeared or shut in Doomsbury and Batley and it is disgraceful.
