As someone who recently picked up a track saw, and then began my information devour period, finding this video was a godsent. If this type of video was made for all major tools and techniques i legitimately would pay for it given the time saved listening to others who either are nowhere near as informed as this gentlemen appears to be using it, or they leave out a bunch of information that leaves me with more questions. Cant thank you enough. -Steve
Sedge... you are amazing. But we first time Festool newbies, are perhaps not professional woodworkers and definitely not as good and fast like you. We just wanted to buy the best... and are trying to learn our new tool. Sedge... I watch and learn regularly and have bought a lot of Festool tools.... Just slow a bit down.. for us and for your heart ! :-) Thank you from Canada
dude i love mine, cutting some aluminum today ! purchased a 72 oshlun blade off amazon. Its dead on the track, I ran the 72 free hand on some plywood to take off some blade coating before putting on track. I think its gonna be great, its a non ferrous blade , but was cutting scraps of pre finished with no tear out at all. blows the 36 tooth out the water
About to make my first cut on my tsc55! Thanks for such a great primer on the festool tracks.... Super excited to have such a wonderful birthday gift from my wonderful wife. And hi from the south western corner of Australia. Stay safe.
Hey Serge = Don't be worried about saying "AH-BAH". That's exactly how we say it in Australia (you can add Australia to your watch list - just not live, as it's 2am here at 12pm showtime!). I absolutely love my TSC-55 and have gotten so much value out of your sessions! Thanks guys.
I never knew how much I could love tools until I bought a TS 55. Great video! I sold my TS 75 a few years back when I thought I was getting out of the trades....now I can't find one anywhere!
Wow guys, great video! Great tips and tricks on the track saw. I really enjoy learning about my Festools, because the manuals suck like most tool manuals, so these videos really help me. Thanks again guys, looking forward to the next one.
Great tip using the saw it’s self to align the rails. I would avoid the Festool joining bars because the set screws drive into the surface of the track, making a dimple, and those screws will always find their way back and could keep you from aligning the tracks at all. Makita has a much better system with double bars, the set screws expand the parts inside the slots expanding with even pressure, and works with Festool tracks. I just saw new joining hardware from TSO that looks even better, it’s like the makita hardware in that it doesn’t drive screws into track, but it also has a unique profile that automatically aligns the tracks as you tighten... TSO GRC-12 self aligning guide rail connectors. Maybe Festool will license these rail connectors, because they were/are selling a Festool branded version of the [Excellent] TSO GRS-16 Guide rail square, Festool call it the FS-WA/90, item #205229, and it carries the TSO logo on the clamp. Again I'm not sure of the status of this version, it's shows out of stock on the Axminster UK website and is listed on the Festool Global site, [Festool.com] but not on [Festoolusa.com] or any of the local Festool dealers that I checked.
I’ve used all the connection techniques for 2 rails and yet to get the perfectly straight cut , always off over a 2.4 metre sheet cut. If you want close to a straight cut, the only way is a complete rail , and even then it’s hard to avoid lateral flex on hard material . It’s not as good and accurate as they make out but it’s still the best on the market .
Just what I needed, when I needed it!! Months ago I bought the MFT/3; yesterday I bought the TS 75 (a shoutout to Steve and the gang @ Tooltown in Paramus New Jersey!!)... I'm paranoid about making sure the board and cuts are 'true square'... Thanks!!
Given the need to keep both the saw's cam adjusters engaged with the track, and your advice to plunge fully before starting the cut, what is the thinking behind Festool's decision to make a standard rail at 55" length? Seems like 60" would be more practical for crosscutting N. American sheet goods.
I ordered festools laminate blade for my TS75 . I have to cut 1/2” acrylic for a friends staircase . Are there any tips I should be aware of, like should I slow the motor speed down ? I’m concerned about when the saw exists the acrylic with potential chip out . I guess I could clamp some sacrificial mdf for additional chip out protection
The RUclips replay of the Friday show is vastly superior to the Instagram original version. The video and audio are great here. And of course, the content is superb -- brimming with useful tips and info.
I am sorry, I can no longer watch any of your videos..... I want EVERYTHING!!!!!! And all I have is the TS 55... and today is the day I am taking it out the box! :) Thanks for the great energy... makes learning fun!
I own a TS 75 that comes with a 36T blade, but I'm going to start ripping quite a bit of plywood, do you recommend that I switch to a 18T blade, or will the 36T handle no problem? And yes I know the TS 75 is overkill for plywood, but I use it for thicker stock, that the TS 55 could not handle.
I wanted to catch this live but didn't get a notice. I bought a 75 and then a 55. I think the black edges stayed on the best. At least for me the clear plastic curls near the ends. I have even used acetone to get every bit of old adhesive off. I keep my rails separated for the 2 saws. What I really wanted to ask about was adjusting 1 saw to match the other so I can use what ever rail I want. I hear I of the saws has more adjustment than the other. How easy is it to mess something up?
There is a section in the TS 55 supplemental manual on the website, go to page 22, 'Matching Multiple Saws to Shared Guide Rails'. service.festoolusa.com/service/manuals/
@@S7tronic Thanks! I had not been aware of the TS Supplemental Manual before you mentioned it. Owning several Festool saws (TS 75, TS 55 and a TSC 55), I found it quite annoying that they didn't cut exactly in the same location on the track. I thought that was just a Festool manufacturing quirk, and I assumed the only way to maintain precision in my cuts was just to waste money to buy dedicated individual tracks for each saw. I owe you a big-time vote of thanks. That advice of yours was equivalent to a 3-star rating in the Michelin Red Guide.
Glad ya’ll are reposting these from IG, lost service mid way thru the IG Live - great to see the rest of it! Who is the Jason Bent you guys keep mentioning?!?!
I just bought the TS55 REBQ Plus. I really enjoyed your comprehensive tutorial. I have a question how is the best to cut the first time the splinter guards on my two 1400/2 guide rails attached with connectors. Thanks I am from Malta Europe.
You tightened one connector but not the one on the bottom. I saw the gap between rails change as you were moving it around because the second connector was loose. You'd have to flip the rail with the saw on it to tighten the other connector.
when I fit my green splitter guard on the side and plunge the saw down (before I start it up of course) the blade is catching the splinter guard, is this normal and does it need trimming like the splinter guard on the guide rail.
Love your videos! So energetic! Have you ever done one of these on the MFT? I wish you guys would do one on the mft to really go over all the options and tips and tricks. Starting with and Specifically dead squaring out the table.
I so want to pull the trigger on the whole cordless track saw kit and multipurpose table for when i do any type of plank flooring, but i don't want my wife Fred Flintstone me out the front door with the cat.
Hate to get a half-dollar in change because vending machines won't take it? Guess what... It's 2.15mm thick, and a Festool blade is 2.2mm; so you can use it for a blade gauge. If you're cutting thin strips, just position the splintah gaaahd strip one half-dollar from your mark.
I'm from New Bedford, been living in the Midwest for the last 29 years. Its good to hear someone speaking proper English again! great tool

You could always play the video at .75 speed!
Nawh dawg, we wanah go fahhhhhsssst.
I'm working 20 years with TS 55. Never failed me. This is the quintessence of German engineering.
I purchased the TS 75 two days ago, it's my first Festool product. This was exactly what I needed!
Same here!

Mines amazing . Wish I knew about them years ago ,as I used to use a skillsaw and a rail which it would usually go under and I’d throw fits

Brilliant tip re. aligning the rails; I used to line them up with a 4' level, not anymore..
Great presentation but relax..there’s no rush!!Thanks
Amazing video. Just what I needed to get started with my new TS55. What a great guy the presenter is. Thank you so much!
Great to hear!
one of the best inventions of the 20th century i'd say
Great session, and thank you for bringing these to RUclips.

These videos are awesome. Very helpful and motivating. Keep up the great work, Sedge & crew!
Subscribed and liked. I own a TS75 and learned a lot about it in this video . Tell you truth I had no idea how to change out the blade 😊
Awesome episode , really enjoying these Live videos . Great job to everyone involved .
this guy loves his job. Got a new Ts75 :) I'm just as excited.

I’ve been trying to decide on a track saw. Mostly looking at Festool, Mafell, and Bosch (I have a lot of Bosch tools). This sold me on Festool.

I agree! Exactly right and annoying

Thanks for the shout out guys! I love festool. I use your tools every day. Great show stay safe!!
I just ordered the ts55 keb I am beyond excited I have the kapex already and absolutely love it. I want to get a big festool banner for my shop next!

Another great instructional video! Looking for depth to cut slabs, the TS 75 will be my choice.

Thoroughly enjoyed this...
You have a great attitude. You love your job .
Great stuff. What is the difference between the newly released rails and the old ones? Are the legacy ones being discontinued?
Great video. Easier than reading instructions

Which Tracksaw has more power? The battery Powered or the Corded?
Glad ya’ll are reposting these from IG, lost service mid way thru the IG Live - great to see the rest of it! Who is the Jason Bent you guys keep mentioning?!?!
Jason has a RUclips channel called Bent's Woodworking. Mostly tips, with the occasional project video.
Thanks!! I’ve been wondering what the -1 degree cut would be for.
What if the board you are cutting is not as wide as the track? Any tricks to stabilize it?
Great content guys. Keep it up. This is extremely helpful... Maybe a small cabinet build demo using all Festool?
They actually did something like that a year ago. Its pretty good but I wouldn't mind seeing a new video.

These Festool Lives are great...thanks!
Isn't the splinter guard also changed when you have a thickness of blade change?
Big high five from Denmark. Such a informative and entertaining session. Keep ‘em coming 👏👏👏
Dear Festool Live, which episode is the one with the MW1000? I cannot find it anywhere
Man,,, you should stay way from all sugars!! But seriously i love your videos.
think you mean “sugAHH!”
You're a funny guy I enjoyed watching your video
Can this replace a table saw?
This guy is great.. tools are awesome.
This video is awesome guys
are ts55 and hkc55 blades interchangable?
Nice job guys - these are making Monday something to look forward to.

Join them and trim, then join them the opposite end and trim again.
Like this. I hope this continues. Great info. Thanks.
Good stuff. Thank you much. Festool rules.
@Festool USA where does the alan key go on the cordless tsc 55? I don't see it on the handle like the corded one.
What is that table on the left please? :)
Just brought a new ts55 and there is play in the blade. Is this normal. It feels like sideways movement
Great video, thanks! An expert @ work, love that.
amazing presenter... thinking about getting a few Festool tools...
Is there a way to calibrate the stop at 45
Whats a harbour shaft?
You tightened one connector but not the one on the bottom. I saw the gap between rails change as you were moving it around because the second connector was loose. You'd have to flip the rail with the saw on it to tighten the other connector.
Just waiting for a "Wicked" from the start. Nice tips appreciated the information.
My saw will not retract all the way back up. The blade sits about 1" down at all times. I can't figure it out!! Help! I have the TS75
He is setting a great example: Who needs hearing protection. Very professional indeed
I love you man for the tip to get the track together... 😍
2nd watch today. Seriously, good stuff.
Awesome job thanks 🙏
Great. Great information!
Good job man!
great session but back off on the caffeine 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
This guy is great!
That's for the video, Just one question, how to set the distance, should i Just use the splinterguard to set it to my drawn line?
Or are there better ways to make sure what you see is what you cut?
Yes. Using the splinterguard to set your drawn line works just fine Erik! :)
@@festoolusa cool thanks, and how do you clean the blade if it gets saturated with wood glue/wax buildup? Water and soap isnt good I suppose?
Is there also coming festool live on the hkc 55 ? Love the episodes 👍
Great Presenter 👍
Lotsa Energy. Plenty of good Information. Great progression of that Information. Thanks. Hopefully not a Bruins fan...not holding my breath though.
Thank you much.
Great video but I'm going to send you a big bag of "R"s so you can use them In words they're supposed to be used in.
Wish I would have found this earlier 😮
This definitely helps

You're just in luck Danny! We covered the MFT last week. You can find it on our channel. Thanks for watching! :)
Great video
All I hear is God-rail, and
splinter-God 🤣🤣
Watching this at 1.75x speed is mind blowing and you still get the boston accent
Brilliant,
What is this so so I can buy it
Products featured in this video can be found in the video description Dennis. :)
Great info thanks
Love this. I am just collecting "Festool" tools.. as I am just starting out as a DIY'er, and maybe get into a course as career move :) !
This guy would be great on VCG constructions channel.😀
The boys!!
Amazing.
Red Bull gives you wings..... apparently
In none of these videos does homie wear earplugs....
I swear I saw this guy selling steak knives in infomercials.
