Not a fan how they made squig herder the mirror of white lion when marauder is supposed to be the mirror. Squig herder now has ranged and melee along with the white lion pounce etc. Maybe i'm biased but would have preferred marauder getting that kind of stuff to mirror white lion.

Ignoring the fact that SH(ranged skirmisher) is a better melee dps than a full melee dps class, marauder lacks a lot. One of the biggest is a gap closer like WL's pounce. Another thing is the mutations and skills being tied to them. Personally I think skills shouldnt be tied to mutations but each mutation give their own passive bonuses like WL "Trained to X" skills. Doing AoE as a marauder forces me to switch to Gift of Monstrosity which makes me lose out on DPS bonuses. The whole stance dancing thing, its not enjoyable. I've also just noticed that the Gift of Brutality passive bonus doesnt even work which is a rather massive drop in potential damage output on a dps thats already considered "meh" as far as I can tell.
Also, am I gonna be completely useless as a ranged squig herder? Like, is the power gap between melee and ranged builds so immense that I shouldn't even bother? As a Hunter main in WoW for 8 years this would sadden me deeply
I'm a bit confused, this Magus description makes it sound like some demi god, but what I've seen in the forums is they're not wanted in warbands instead of another sorc and their pets get evaporated by aoe so they might as well not exist. Are they exagerating? I mean I guess you can just solo and get currency with your mega range, but would like to be invited to groups as well.
Has something changed with the Magus in RoR? I played original WAR from the beginning (for several years) and chose Magus, it was fun at first, but as the game progressed class imbalance was a real issue and Magus was just inferior as range dps in every way imaginable to the Sorc. Really there was never a scenario where Magus was more desirable than a Sorc, their mechanic meant they could always out dps, because there was always a healer to offset their self damage and whilst a Magus, theoretically had better crowd control, the reality was they didn't and a Sorc output more. The pets were rarely doing anything useful, nor lasting long enough to bother much with. I have heard RoR has made some move changes, have they actually tweaked classes like the Magus (they weren't the only subpar class, but were possibly the worst), to make their skills more viable?
magus pets provide massive buffs now. Magus will never deal big crits like a Sorc, but they create a lot of DPS still. Single target DPS is decent and doesn't need pocket heals like a Sorc. I never wanted to be alone as a Sorc. Magus im fine riding dirty.
You should make an XP scroll guide.. Problem right now is that new players rush to 40 and are like level 40/20 and just get stomped in endgame pvp no matter if it is RvR or SC.. Running around as a DPS and dealing less than 30 damage per hit on people is very disheartening and they dont understand what they are doing wrong.
Maybe the Sorcerer shines at cap 40/80, but at Tier one (Where the best play is) I am not at all impressed. Long cast times on spells. This silly "Backlash" mechanic they attach to every spell that causes self-harm. Not a good impression. By Contrast, the "Archmage" order class which is supposedly a healer class returns me twice the damage that the Sorcerer provides. (Tier one). Mandatory that you play with a full range of potions.
Effacez sh ranged are good for solo if you know how to kite. For wb and 6men melee is better. Btw when you are in squid armor all your ranged stats from gear get converted in melee stats. So you only have to change renown passives and mastery and you are good to go
@@michaelhansen2309 it's a game chill. I get the game has a ton of in depth lore. I think it looks really dumb regardless of all that. Alot of stuff in wow is the same way for me and other mmos
Look it was burn out like 4 years ago. It's now just trash, bad writing, creepy, agenda pushing and I'd call it just out right lake of understanding the IP/fans.

It was a tough call I think. Squig needed some love, but perhaps Marauders could use some now too

You didn't choose wrong as recently I read a comment from one of the devs saying that SH range is on the menu for a revamp
